BLM rioters vandalize Portland commissioner's house after he voted against defunding police; city hall hit with arson attack

They threw burning flares and paint filled balloons at the home

Dozens of left-wing protesters vandalized a Portland commissioner's home after he voted against a measure that would defund part of the Portland Police Bureau's budget.

The disconcerting event unfolded on Thursday according to the Portland Police.

Portland City Commissioner Dan Ryan had voted against a measure earlier that day that would have redirected $18 million from the police budget to other programs supporting social causes.

Portland Unified Command said that the group marched to Ryan's home, broke a window and tossed "burning flares and paint filled balloons" at the house. Video on social media captured the protesters chanting "Black Lives Matter!" and "F**k you Dan Ryan!!" during the protest.

Rioters also attacked the Portland City Hall and tried to torch it in an arson attack.

Ryan's vote was the swing vote on the measure and prevented it from passing.

Liberal critics specifically faulted Ryan for his vote on social media, calling it "white supremacy."

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler condemned the attack and called it intimidation in a statement on Friday.

"Last night's criminal destruction and attack on Commissioner Ryan's home are reprehensible," Wheeler said.

"Violence, criminal destruction and intimidation are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Those responsible must be found, investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I condemn anyone who uses violence to attempt to silence the voices of others."

Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty, who backed the police defunding motion, also condemned the violence against her colleague on the city council.

"Fighting for systemic change is messy and complicated, but what shouldn't be complicated is recognizing when lines have been crossed, and that's what happened last night," she said in part.

The Portland Police budget for the current year was slated to be about $244 million, meaning the "defund the police" effort that was defeated would have cut about 7.3% of the budget. However, the city council had already cut $15 million from the budget in June as a part of their support for the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan removed central bank Governor Murat Uysal amid a rout in the lira. Erdogan named former Finance Minister Naci Agbal the new head of Turkey’s monetary authority, according to a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on Saturday.

The removal followed weeks of declines in the currency, which weakened to a record low of 8.5793 per dollar on Friday. The lira dropped more than 30% this year to become the worst-performing emerging market currency tracked by Bloomberg.

Uysal, who was appointed in July 2019 after his predecessor was fired for defying the president’s calls for looser monetary policy, had been raising borrowing costs through a combination of rate increases and back-door measures since August. But that approach failed to provide enough of a support for the currency or to rein in inflation, which is hovering at double digits, compared to the official target of 5%. It sounds like fodder for conspiracy theorists, but thus far everything we've seen about Dominion Voting Systems seems to be worth attention.

The same company that reported glitches with software updates in contested polling locations in Georgia is also behind the software glitch that seemingly reversed 5,500 votes in a county in Michigan.

Dominion Voting Systems, which claims to work with 1300 voting jurisdictions including nine of the 20 largest counties in the nation, produced the software used in Michigan that erroneously gave Democratic candidate Joe Biden a 3,000 vote advantage in Antrim County. After the glitch was fixed, it was discovered that President Donald Trump actually won the county by around 2,500 votes. According to WLNS:

An entire Michigan county has flipped back to it’s [sic] historically republican roots after a manual recount of votes. Officials with Antrim County posted updated results showing President Trump won the county with 9,783 votes making up 56.46% of ballots cast. Joe Biden earned 7,289 votes or 42.07%. The county initially “went blue” and showed a win for Biden before the error was discovered.

Antrim County officials have blamed the county’s election software saying totals counted did not match tabulator tapes. 6 News has learned the “Dominion Voting System” is used Antrim County. That system is also used in 64 other counties across the state including, Ingham, Jackson, and Shiawassee, locally…..

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, who appeared to be closing in on an election victory, has tapped former derivatives market regulator Gary Gensler to work on a transition plan for financial industry oversight, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter. Gensler, who served as chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) from 2009 to 2014, will work with a team of policy experts focused on banking and markets regulators, such as the CFTC, Federal Reserve and the Securities and Exchange Commission, as part of the usual agency review process undertaken by an incoming administrations, the person said. Gensler did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Friday evening. A spokesperson for Biden’s transition team declined to comment. The decision to appoint Gensler was likely to please many Democrats who applauded his tough stance on Wall Street under former President Barack Obama.

As CFTC chair, he led creation of key swaps rules mandated by Congress following the 2007-2009 financial crisis, developing a reputation as a hard-headed operator who was not afraid to ruffle feathers. His efforts put the CFTC well ahead on the implementation of the 2010 Dodd-Frank reform law. Other regulators are still implementing the law’s rules a decade later. Paper ballots are safe only if marked by hand, not by machine

These “dieselgate” defects, however, are just the latest example of the myriad problems that inevitably arise whenever you place a hackable machine between voters and their ballots. Here are some of the other well-established problems that have caused most independent cybersecurity experts to recommend hand-marked paper ballots (counted on scanners or by hand) as a primary voting system:

Most ballot marking devices (BMDs) that are intended for use as a primary voting system put barcodes on the paper printouts, which purport to encapsulate the voters’ selections. Although voters can’t read barcodes, the barcodes are the only portion of the printout counted as their vote.

The barcodes can be maliciously programmed to instruct the scanners to flip votes.

Although the machine-marked printouts also include human readable text purporting to summarize the voters’ selections, it is up to the voters to catch any erroneous or fraudulent machine-marked selections within that text. A recent study suggests that most voters don’t review the text, even when instructed to do so. Often, voters who do undertake such a review fail to catch inaccuracies.

A manual audit or recount based on corrupted machine-marked printouts would itself be corrupted.

Touchscreens lead to frequent user error. (As noted, BMDs and hybrids are touchscreen systems.)

Touchscreens enable corrupt officials to generate long lines by limiting the number of machines sent to each precinct.

Touchscreens are vulnerable to denial-of-service attacks and power outages that could prevent voters from voting at all.

Vendors pushing BMDs have disturbingly cozy relationships with many election officials.

Some BMDs test very poorly on the issue of disability access.

BMDs and hybrids cost substantially more than hand-marked paper ballots and scanners, which are more secure.

A new initiative dubbed the “Trump Accountability Project” is compiling names of administration officials and the president’s high-profile supporters and donors, insisting “we must never forget those who helped further the Trump agenda.”

While the project doesn’t say how it will use its blacklist to ensure “accountability,” the registry has already swelled to hundreds of names, including dozens of sitting judges, and continues to grow as others in the anti-Trump orbit come around to the idea. The list was publicly viewable for a brief time, but was locked by its creators on Friday evening without explanation, evidently defeating its purpose altogether.

Among the project’s supporters is Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York), who called to document the “tweets, writings [and] photos” of “Trump sycophants” so that they can’t “deny their complicity” with the current administration.

"…when I began writing that book, I discovered from the C.I.A. files that the Hungarian people, when they started that uprising, it began as an anti-Jewish pogrom. It was essentially an anti-Jewish revolution, not an anti-communist revolution to begin with for the first few days.

The Hungarian people regarded their government in the 1950s as being a jewish government, and they regarded the secret police, the dreaded [AVH] as being a jewish secret police, and essentially it was because when the Red Army entered Hungary in 1945, they brought back into Hungary all the Jews who had taken refuge in the Soviet Union, and they were the ones who got the plum jobs, and they were the ones who got the trustworthy jobs, the secret police chiefs and the torturers.

And that’s why the Jews were so hated in Hungary by 1956 because they were regarded as the people who had inflicted this nameless misery on the Hungarian people, and so the Uprising began as an anti-Jewish uprising.

Every one of the ‘Hungarian’ leaders at that time in 1956….they were all Jews, and I never realized that when I set out to write it. It was an extraordinary fact the way these things are kept away from the public consciousness.

And, of course, when the book came out, I was accused of ‘antisemitism’, but what am I supposed to do when you discover something, as a historian, are you supposed to pretend that it isn’t that? And if you do pretend that, you are doing the Jewish people more harm than good, I think.

He was the leader of the [disruptive Jewish gang in the audience], and he said, “Are you accusing us? Are you saying that we are responsible for Auschwitz ourselves?” And it was a bit of a dazzling question, and I said, “Well, the short answer is yes.”

But that’s a cruel answer because to do the question justice, you’ve got to have a lot of intervening stages, of course. But the short answer, if you want to hop from A to Z, is yes. If you hadn’t behaved the way you have as a race for 3,000 years, first the Russians, then the Poles, then the Galicians, then the Austrians and the rest wouldn’t have harried and hounded you from pillar to post so you end up finding yourselves at Auschwitz. And you’ve never asked yourselves, “Why?”."

Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey conceded to her George Soros-funded challenger, George Gascon, on Friday. Lacey was held responsible by Black Lives Matter for alleged police brutality. Her challenger won the support of the Democratic Party establishment in the state — including L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, who withdrew his previous endorsement of Lacey and threw his support to the Soros-backed Gascon in early October. As Breitbart News reported before the election: In 2018, as Breitbart News reported at the time, Soros spent heavily on left-wing candidates for district attorney posts around the nation, often backing “progressive” candidates against establishment Democrats. He previously served as district attorney in San Francisco, as Politico notes, working with then-Mayor Newsom to roll back policing — but leaving a city synonymous with vagrancy today, and backing Proposition 47, which put more convicted criminals back on the streets: Newsom’s choice reflects his long history with Gascón: When he was mayor of San Francisco, Newsom tabbed Gascón to be chief of police and then elevated him to San Francisco district attorney to fill the post that Kamala Harrisvacated after she became state attorney general. During his tenure as San Francisco’s top cop, Gascón became a leading figure in California’s swing away from tough-on-crime policies, embracing measures like a ballot initiative to reduce drug and theft crimes from felonies to misdemeanors. Gascón was encouraged to run by the Real Justice PAC, an organization co-founded by radical left-wing Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King, who is publicly refusing to denounce riots in Kenosha.

As the California Globe recently reported, Soros has spent $2.5 million on Gascon’s campaign. He has a left-wing record, including support for prison reform and the end of cash bail. Moreover, the Globe noted: Under Gascón as San Francisco District Attorney:

auto thefts in San Francisco jumped to 10% of the statewide average;

UNDERSTANDING VOTER RECORDS

There is a lot of data tracked by the Secretaries of States concerning voter record.

The data includes what county, which election, whether they are active/inactive/removable/not eligible, which precincts and various districts, mailing address, physical address, YOB, party, voter ID # and more.

When it comes to ABSENTEE BALLOT the image attached is a small section from REAL voter records for the 2020 general election in my state for illustrative purposes. I squished the last name column to protect the voters.

TheVOTE TYPEindicates if the person requested an absentee ballot or voted in person during the early voting period.

When voters request an absentee ballot, the date the application is received is recorded, as well as the source (paper via mail, email, in person, or electronic). The clerk's office then has to verify the voter is eligible to vote in that state/county. The application is either accepted or rejected. If rejected, the voter has a chance to cure the problem.

If accepted the date the ballot is mailed to the voter is recorded. The ballot status stays at "sent" until it is returned from the voter. In the example, 2 voters either forgot to mail the ballot back, or it was "lost" in either the mail or in the clerk's office.

The date the ballot is returned from the voter is recorded. At that point the clerk's office has to inspect the absentee ballot envelope to make sure the voter has the proper information. If they missed putting some information, they are given a chance to cure the problem (sign the ballot, enter the correct YOB or SSN, whichever is required, etc.)

The information related to the election does not include a column for dead/alive.

Trying to find death information takes a lot more work. If the voter died, but has not yet been removed from the voter registration rolls (that occurs every other year), the voter record is marked as removable or dead (depending on the state). If I find a "removable" voter has voted I start digging more.

Some of the removables are convicted felons. Others have moved out of state. Others (not many in my state) turn up in obituary notices.

It takes a lot of man hours to go thru these.

Currently for dead people not voting, we have to rely on the clerk's office keeping the voter registration records up to date. Sadly, this is not the case. Many times locally, the older people die in nursing homes located in other counties. Death notices seem to be slow walked big time to the secretary of state, who in turn disseminates the data down to the county where the voter was registered.

A centralized voter database linked automatically to SSN death records with no override button in the clerk's offices is in order.

I also think a national voter card is needed to prevent people voting in multiple states. Our challengers caught people doing just this, and yes, those voters have been reported.

Prime Minister says report on Australian Defence Force is ‘highly sensitive’

A long-awaited report into alleged war crimes by Australian troops touches on ‘highly sensitive’ matters, Prime Minister Scott Morrison says.

An explosive report into allegations of war crimes by Australian troops will be taken “very seriously” by the government, the Prime Minister has said.

Defence chief Angus Campbell has received the report from the inspector-general of the Australian Defence Force, who was tasked in 2016 with investigating dozens of incidents, including alleged unlawful killings, in Afghanistan from 2005 until that year.

“It is a very, very serious issue and the government will be taking it very seriously,” Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Saturday.

“We will be abiding by the proper legal and institutional processes that are appropriate here.”

Asked what level of information the public will be allowed to see, the Prime Minister said he will have more to say about that next week.

“At this stage though, the (chief of the Defence Force) has received the report. It goes to highly sensitive matters,” Mr Morrison said.

“It is important that we run a process here that respects the integrity of our defence forces, that upholds the standard all Australians would expect of the defence forces, and to ensure people are treated fairly in that process as well.”

The Defence inspector-general has confirmed in its most recent annual report that at least 55 separate incidents involving alleged law breaches during the war have been examined.

BREAKING: Michigan Legislature to Convene Special Joint Oversight Hearing Saturday After 'Glitches' Blow One Election, Give 6,000 Trump Votes to Biden

Earlier Friday news broke that a software glitch in the vote-counting software used by 48 Michigan counties produced a very significant glitch in at least one of them. In Antrim County, the software glitch switched 6,000 votes from Republicans including President Trump to Democrats. The county clerk, a Democrat, caught the issue and it has been corrected in that county. Antrim County uses Dominion Voting System according to WLNS. In Oakland County, another glitch temporarily toppled an incumbent Republican. County Commissioner Adam Kochenderfer narrowly lost the initial count, only to have a glitch discovered Thursday that had switched over 1200 Republican votes to Democrat. Once the votes were properly attributed, Commissioner Kochenderfer went from loser by about 100 votes to winner by over 1,100. According to the Royal Oak Tribune, Oakland County uses election software from Hart Intercivic. Hart uses a proprietary system called Verity. Eleven Michigan counties use Hart’s systems. It’s troubling that both glitches switched Republican votes to Democrat despite apparently occurring in different underlying systems. All told, 59 of Michigan’s 83 counties may be affected by these two glitches. The Michigan Legislature late Friday announced it will be holding a joint oversight hearing to “ensure the integrity of our state elections.”

“The ongoing turmoil surrounding the recent general election underscores my fervent desire, and our state’s need, for a fair and honest result,” state Sen. Ed McBroom (R) said in a statement posted to Twitter. McBroom called for calm and for people to stop spreading doubt, and also stated that “ignoring troubling reports and dismissing out of hand anecdotal evidence that problems may exist” is unacceptable. In 2019, the AP reported that voting systems in several states were nearing end-of-life for their operating systems, which would leave them vulnerable to manipulation if not addressed. Several swing states including Michigan were among those states named in the report. The AP surveyed all 50 states, the District of Columbia and territories, and found multiple battleground states affected by the end of Windows 7 support, including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Arizona and North Carolina. Also affected are Michigan, which recently acquired a new system, and Georgia, which will announce its new system soon.

States or the counties that own the systems would have to pay large fees to stay updated and protected against hacking, according to the report. The election technology industry is dominated by three titans : Omaha, Nebraska-based Election Systems and Software LLC; Denver, Colorado-based Dominion Voting Systems Inc.; and Austin, Texas-based Hart InterCivic Inc. They make up about 92% of election systems used nationwide, according to a 2017 study . All three have worked to win over states newly infused with federal funds and eager for an update.

Systems manufactured by two of the three — Dominion and Hart — reportedly glitched in Antrim and Oakland Counties, respectively, both handing Republican votes to Democrats.
