The Julian Assange Show: Cypherpunks Uncut

Cyber threats, hacker attacks and laws officially aiming to tackle internet piracy, but in fact infringing people's rights to online privacy. It's an increasingly topical subject - and the world's most famous whistleblower is aiming to get to the heart of it. In this edition of his interview program here on RT, Julian Assange gets together with activists from the Cypherpunk movement - Andy Müller-Maguhn, Jeremie Zimmermann, and Jacob Appelbaum.

One Way Out

In the wee hours Friday the overnight 10-year Treasury yield fell to 0.52%, its lowest ever beyond an intraday spell during whipsaw trading on March 9. Deutsche Bank research strategist Jim Reid put it this way:

The U.S. has been through depressions, deflations, wars, restrictive gold standard regimes, market crashes and many other major events and never before have we seen yields so low back to when the Founding Fathers formed the country.

The belly of the curve has likewise plumbed new depths, with the five-year Treasury yield finishing Friday at just 21 basis points, comfortably within the upper end of the overnight Fed Funds policy rate range of 0 to 0.25%.

Those diving nominal interest rates are even more notable because inflation expectations, as measured by the 10-year breakeven rate, have swiftly retraced most of their March collapse. "

Seattle: 200 protesters try to protest at police chief’s home – neighbors use own vehicles to block the crowd

SEATTLE, WA- On Saturday night, Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best’s residence in Snohomish County was targeted by a large group of aggressive protesters. The next day, she implored City Council-members in a letter to stand up for what is right.

In the letter, she said:

“My neighbors were concerned by such a large group, but they were successful in ensuring the crowd was not able to trespass or engage in other illegal behavior in the area, despite repeated attempts to do so.”

“Before this devolves into the new way of doing business by mob rule here in Seattle and across the nation, elected officials like you must forcefully call for the end of these tactics.”

Peaceful protests: More than 150 bullets fired in Portland, hitting apartments, cars and a woman. Nobody arrested.

PORTLAND, OR –Since the murder of George Floyd, acts of violence in Portland have become an everyday occurrence.

Whether the violence is directed toward the police or at people caught up in the riot, there appears to be no end in sight. And on July 31st, reports of over 150 rounds being fired outside of an apartment building came in.

The rounds struck several apartments, vehicles, and wounded at least one woman and so far no arrests have been made.

Reports of the shooting came in after 11pm on NE 87th in which 8 occupied apartments, 7 vehicles and one woman were hit.

Assistant Attorney General Makan Delrahim of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice issued the following statement today in connection with the closing of the division’s investigation into the proposed acquisition of Refinitiv by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG):

“After an extensive review of the proposed transaction, the Antitrust Division determined that the combination of LSEG and Refinitiv is unlikely to result in harm to competition or American consumers.”

U.S. To Increase Cooperation With Russia In Counterterrorism

In an oped printed in The Washington Post yesterday, U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien declared the U.S. and the Russian Federation would look in the coming month to increase cooperation in counterterrorism. Some cooperation has continued in recent years despite Western sanctions against Moscow, with each side providing tips regarding possible terror attacks in the other country, allowing security forces to intervene.

“Another area of potential cooperation with Russia is counterterrorism. Both Russia and the United States have had their homelands attacked by violent extremists. U.S. officials will likely engage with their Russian intelligence and law enforcement counterparts on such matters in the coming months,” Robert O’Brien said, reported Russian state news agency TASS.

New York Times Op-ed: ‘Let’s Scrap the Presidential Debates’

The New York Times published an op-ed Monday morning titled “Let’s Scrap the Presidential Debates,” arguing that they play too great a role in helping voters choose the president. Journalist Elizabeth Drew assures readers that she is not worried that Biden will lose the debates. “This, by the way, isn’t written out of any concern that Donald Trump will prevail over Joe Biden in the debates; Mr. Biden has done just fine in a long string of such contests,” she writes. The point, she says, is that the debates are meaningless — “that ‘winning’ a debate, however assessed, should be irrelevant, as are the debates themselves.” She argues: Nervous managers of the scheduled 2020 presidential debates are shuffling the logistics and locations to deal with the threat of the coronavirus. But here’s a better idea: Scrap them altogether. And not for health reasons. The debates have never made sense as a test for presidential leadership. In fact, one could argue that they reward precisely the opposite of what we want in a president. When we were serious about the presidency, we wanted intelligence, thoughtfulness, knowledge, empathy and, to be sure, likability. It should also go without saying, dignity. Yet the debates play an outsize role in campaigns and weigh more heavily on the verdict than their true value deserves.

Drew calls Trump “the most disastrous president in our history” and complains that the 2016 presidential debates “became simply another tool in his arsenal.” Others on the left have also argued that former Vice President Biden should not debate Trump. Times columnist Thomas Friedman wrote last month that Biden should not debate Trump without real-time fact-checking — though Biden has a long history (in 2008, and 2012) of factual errors in debates. Joe Lockhart, a former press aide to President Bill Clinton, advised Biden last week at CNN.com: “Whatever you do, don’t debate Trump.”

Statement: First Presidential Debate

July 27, 2020

The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) today stated that the University of Notre Dame has withdrawn from hosting the first presidential debate on September 29, 2020. CPD is pleased to announce that the first presidential debate will be co-hosted by Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic and held at the Health Education Campus (HEC) in Cleveland, OH. Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic have collaborated on the HEC, a joint project where students in medicine, dentistry, nursing and related fields come together to learn and practice team-based care in simulated settings and, later, at actual clinical sites. This will be the second CPD-sponsored debate hosted by Case Western Reserve University. In 2004, the university was the site of the Vice Presidential debate.

As previously announced, Cleveland Clinic will serve as Health Security Advisor to the CPD for all four 2020 general election debates. They are:

First presidential debate:

Tuesday, September 29, 2020

Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH

Vice presidential debate:

Wednesday, October 7, 2020

The University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT

Second presidential debate:

Thursday, October 15, 2020

Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Miami, FL

Third presidential debate:

Thursday, October 22, 2020

Belmont University, Nashville, TN

All debates will be 90 minutes in length, will run from 9:00 – 10:30 pm ET without commercial breaks, and be broadcast by the White House pool networks.

Trump calls for re-run of 'total disaster' NY congressional race amid mail-in ballot problems

President Trump on Monday urged New York to re-run its June 23 primary election in the 12th Congressional District, which still hasn't produced a winner as thousands of mail-in ballots have been tossed or remain uncounted.

Trump's comments marked a further escalation of his rhetoric against universal, nationwide mail-in balloting, which the president has warned could bring about “greatest election disaster in history."

"I think you probably have to take the Carolyn Maloney race and run it over again," Trump said, during a relatively subdued White House press conference Monday.

Thousands of mail-in ballots have been invalidated in the contest, and both Republicans and election experts have said the situation could be a harbinger of a disastrous nationwide mail-in vote in November.

"This is a small race, and it's all messed up," Trump said. "It's a mess. Nobody knows what's happening. ... It's a total disaster."

He noted that the United States Postal Service (USPS) suffers from systemic mismanagement, and argued it's not "prepared" to responsibly handle a barrage of mail-in ballots.

"The post office loses money on every package it delivers, which is ridiculous," Trump remarked.

Trump also pointed to a series of other mail-in ballot problems nationwide, including the news that Thomas Cooper, a mail carrier in Pendleton County, admitted to election fraud.

Monday's remarks were a continuation of the president's previous comments on the topic. Last week, the president tweeted out a dramatic local news report highlighting missing ballots during a test of the USPS' ability to handle mail-in ballots. The president also held up a Wall Street Journal article titled "New York's Mail-Vote Disaster," as well as a CBS News article titled "Vote-by-mail experiment reveals potential problems within postal voting system ahead of November election." He cited a similar piece in The Washington Post.

Trump fires Tennessee Valley Authority board members over outsourcing controversy

President Trump is removing two members from the board of the Tennessee Valley Authority, the largest U.S. public power company, amid criticism the company is outsourcing jobs. “So, let this serve as a warning to any federally appointed board. If you betray American workers, then you will hear two simple words ‘you're fired. You're fired,’” Trump said. Trump announced the decision to remove TVA board Chairman James Thompson and board member Richard Howarth at the White House on Monday, during a meeting with U.S. Tech Workers, a nonprofit organization urging limits on H-1B visas to foreign workers. That group recently slammed the TVA for laying off at least 64 U.S. workers while expanding its use of H-1B visas. “If the TVA does not move swiftly to reverse their decision to rehire their workers, then more board members will be removed,” Trump said. “We have the absolute right to remove board members.” In response to Trump’s remarks, TVA said it supported an executive order Trump signed on Monday requiring federal agencies to prioritize U.S. workers in federal contracts. That executive order specifically criticized TVA for saying it would outsource 20% of its technology jobs, which the order said could cause more than 200 U.S. workers to lose their jobs and cost the local economy tens of millions of dollars.

“All TVA employees are U.S. based citizens,” the power company said in a statement. “All jobs related to TVA’s Information Technology department must be performed in the U.S. by individuals who may legally work in this country.” The company added that its board members “serve at the pleasure of the President,” and the board can “continue its oversight function with the loss of one or more of its members.” Trump on Monday also again slammed TVA CEO Jeff Lyash for being “ridiculously overpaid” with a salary of $8 million per year. He said any new CEO of the power company should be paid no more than $500,000 a year, “which is still a significant amount more than the president of the United States.” The incident isn’t Trump’s first tussle with the TVA. In April, Trump said he’d support reducing “by a lot” Lyash’s salary, quipping that he “has to be the highest-paid man in any government.” And in 2019, the TVA’s board voted to approve the closure of two coal plants, bucking direct requests from Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to keep them running. Lyash, in an interview last September, told the Washington Examiner the decision was about economics and not “about whether coal is good or bad.”

EXCLUSIVE: Soros, Gates-Linked Election ‘Integrity’ Group Falsifies ‘Bipartisan’ Claims While War-Gaming How Biden Could Seize Power Even If Trump Wins

THE TRANSITION INTEGRITY PROJECT – WHICH BILLS ITSELF AS A BULWARK AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP’S REFUSAL TO CONCEDE THE 2020 ELECTION – IS FOUNDED BY A BOARD MEMBER OF GEORGE SOROS’S OPEN SOCIETY FOUNDATION AND A VICE PRESIDENT OF THE CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY-LINKED BERGGRUEN INSTITUTE, THE NATIONAL PULSE CAN EXCLUSIVELY REVEAL.

The Transition Integrity Project (TIP) appears to be another establishment-sanctioned offensive to nullify the Trump presidency akin to impeachment and the Russian collusion hoax. Now, however, TIP’s paramount concern is President Trump’s refusal to relinquish the presidency should Democratic candidate Joe Biden win given the potential for a botched election resulting from mail-in ballots and coronavirus.

The breathless media coverage of TIP in the last few days has hailed the group’s “bipartisanship,” but a National Pulse investigation has found that the group is anything but. In reality, it’s another globalist front comprised of Soros staffers, linked to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and appears to exist for the express purpose of backing Biden’s claims to the White House in an event of a disputed election in November.

TIP claimed to have “war-gamed” potential outcomes of the 2020 election with a host of establishment figures such as Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign Chair and Obama-era Counselor John Podesta, Never Trump Republican National Committee (RNC) Head Michael Steele, and acting chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Donna Brazile who leaked presidential debate questions to Clinton in 2016.

In one concerning iteration, Podesta, who acted as Biden, seized the presidency by “failing to concede as Mrs. Clinton had.”

THE ESTABLISHMENT STRIKES BACK.

The project, whose ranks include individuals dead-set on removing President Trump from office since his inauguration, is founded by Rosa Brooks and Nils Gilman.

Brooks was an Obama-era Counselor to Under Secretary of Defense for Policy and Special Coordinator for Rule of Law and Humanitarian Policy along with a Senior Advisor t0 Bill Clinton’s State Department. She also served as Special Counsel to the President at the Open Society Institute and now serves on the advisory board of the foundation, the brainchild of progressive mega-donor George Soros.

'I WAS THERE' Prince Andrew WAS at club with Jeffrey Epstein ‘sex slave’ Virginia Giuffre – not Pizza Express, new witness claims

A NEW witness claims she saw Prince Andrew with accuser Virginia Giuffre at a nightclub — contradicting his insistence he was not there.

Shukri Walker said: “I remember him dancing and chatting with the young girl.”

Teenage Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia says she was forced to have sex with Andrew after they left Tramp in Mayfair in March 2001.

Andrew denies it and claims he was not even in Tramp on that evening.

He says he remembers the date well because he took daughter Beatrice to a Pizza Express in Woking, Surrey.

But Shukri has no doubts it was the Prince she saw dancing with teenage sex slave Virginia Giuffre at a nightclub — because she said sorry to him after standing on his foot.

Shukri said she turned to apologise after her mishap on the dance floor at Tramp and found herself face-to-face with the Prince.

She recalled: “He was smiling. He said, ‘No problem’.”

Shukri’s account is another blow to the beleaguered royal, who has come under intense scrutiny since 58-year-old Maxwell was arrested last month for conspiring with Epstein to sex traffick women.

Shukri today said she decided to speak out after watching Andrew’s denial during his now infamous Newsnight interview.

She contacted US lawyer Lisa Bloom, who represents a number of Epstein’s victims.

Ms Bloom passed the information on to the FBI.

Shukri said: “When I watched the BBC interview and saw Prince Andrew deny knowing Virginia, saying he has no recollection of that night I had to come forward.

“Because I was there and I do have a recollection of it.”

Shukri said that she and a male friend had been dancing in the club while Andrew was among a group sitting in a corner.

She added: “I can remember exactly where they were sitting.

“They had one of those coolers with ice and a bottle in. In fact probably two of those.

“You could tell they were getting special treatment.

“The man I was with went over there and started talking to them and then came back.

Shukri Walker

“Then at some point I was dancing with him and stood on the feet of one of the men sitting in the corner and I said, ‘I’m sorry’.

“And he was smiling. He said, ‘No problem’. My companion said that the man who I stood on was actually Prince Andrew.

“I’d never seen a Prince in my life before. I just stood and looked at this man, thinking, ‘Oh my goodness. It’s a real Prince.’

“He was smiling a lot, most of the night.

“He looked like he was having a great time. And he was with this young girl who was close to my own age, perhaps even a bit younger than me.

“They were not that alone. They were with the woman who has just been arrested, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Epstein.

“I will never forget the night because I was told this is a real Prince.

"That’s the moment that stood out for me. I don’t think I would have remembered otherwise.”

Shukri recalled Virginia had an “awkward expression” on her face.

She added: “I do remember the little girl perhaps was a little bit drunk or just had a weird expression, an awkward expression.

“But she wasn’t smiling, it was the opposite of smiles.”

In Virginia’s account of the night of March 10, 2001, Andrew was “sweating profusely” as they danced.

Andrew told Newsnight that was impossible as he has a medical condition which means he does not sweat.

Shukri says she cannot be sure if Andrew was sweating — but claims she did see him wipe his face.

She said: “He was using the back of his hand. I don’t know with all honesty if he was wiping it because he was sweating or just touching it.

“But he wiped at his forehead with the back of his hand when he was dancing several times.

“I remember he was dancing with the young girl and chatting with her throughout the night.”

Obama releases 'first wave' of 2020 endorsements

Former President Barack Obama released a list of politicians he's endorsing for the 2020 election cycle. Obama, who released similar lists prior to the 2018 midterm elections, posted his endorsement list on social media on Monday morning. The list included more than 115 Democratic candidates running in races in 17 states. The post was deemed his "first wave" of support.

"I’m proud to endorse this diverse and hopeful collection of thoughtful, empathetic, and highly qualified Democrats. Together, these candidates will help us redeem our country’s promise by sticking up for working class people, restoring fairness and opportunity to our system, and fighting for the good of all Americans — not just those at the top," he said of the group. "They make me optimistic not just about our party’s chances in November, but about our country’s future long after that. So if you’re in one of their districts or states, make sure you vote for them this fall. And if you can, vote early — by mail or in person," Obama added.

Virginia in UK Mar 10th 2001

"(TMU) – According to a former member of the Royal guard who worked on Prince Andrew’s security detail, The London Metropolitan Police have destroyed evidence that could have revealed where Prince Andrew was on the night that he is accused of having sex with a teenager that was being trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

The night in question is March 10th, 2001, as well as the morning hours of March 11. Virginia Giuffre, who was known by the name Virginia Roberts at the time, says that she was taken to London by Epstein and Maxwell and was expected to have sex with Prince Andrew.

Giuffre says that she was just 17-years-old at the time and remembers being taken to the “Tramp” nightclub in London, as well as one of Maxwell’s homes in the city."

Check THIS out!

President Trump keeps pronouncing plasma "plos-ma"...so I did a search on plos and found a website plos.org Public Library of Science, a peer-reviewed, open-source journal. Looked around, may need better autist eyes than myself to do deeper digging, but found this article from 2012:

Immunization with SARS Coronavirus Vaccines Leads to Pulmonary Immunopathology on Challenge with the SARS Virus

conclusion of the study:

These SARS-CoV vaccines all induced antibody and protection against infection with SARS-CoV. However, challenge of mice given any of the vaccines led to occurrence of Th2-type immunopathology suggesting hypersensitivity to SARS-CoV components was induced. Caution in proceeding to application of a SARS-CoV vaccine in humans is indicated.

In essence, studies on animals show that a Covid vaccine did induce an antibody response but when challenged, there were complications and lung damage was caused.

Also, where was this study performed?

University of Texas, Galveston TX

may need more digging here....this could be the site POTUS was leading us to?

From Lockdowns to "The Great Reset"

https://mises.org/wire/lockdowns-great-reset

The lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the implementation of long-held plans to establish a so-called new world order. Under the auspices of the World Economic Forum (WEF), global policymakers are advocating for a “Great Reset” with the intent of creating a global technocracy. It is not by coincidence that on October 18, 2019, in New York City the WEF participated in “Event 201” at the “high-level” pandemic exercise organized by the John Hopkins Center for Health Security.

This coming technocracy involves close cooperation between the heads of the digital industry and of governments. With programs such as guaranteed minimum income and healthcare for all, the new kind of governance combines strict societal control with the promise of comprehensive social justice.

The truth, however, is that this new world order of digital tyranny comes with a comprehensive social credit system. The People’s Republic of China is the pioneer of this method of surveillance and control of individuals, corporations, and sociopolitical entities.

For the individual, one’s identity is reduced to an app or chip that registers almost any personal activity. In order to gain a few individual rights, and be it only to travel to a certain place, a person must balance such apparent privileges with his submission to a web of regulations that define in detail what is “good behavior” and deemed as beneficial to humankind and the environment. For example, during a pandemic, this sort of control would extend from the obligation of wearing a mask and practicing social distancing to having specific vaccinations in order to apply for a job or to travel.

It is, in short, a type of social engineering which is the opposite of a spontaneous order or of development. Like the mechanical engineer with a machine, the social engineer—or technocrat—treats society as an object. Different from the brutal suppressions by the totalitarianism of earlier times, the modern social engineer will try to make the social machine work on its own according to the design. For this purpose, the social engineer must apply the laws of society the way the mechanical engineer follows the laws of nature. Behavioral theory has reached a stage of knowledge that makes the dreams of social engineering possible. The machinations of social engineering operate not through brute force, but subtly by nudge.

Under the order envisioned by the Great Reset, the advancement of technology is not meant to serve the improvement of the conditions of the people but to submit the individual to the tyranny of a technocratic state. "The experts know better" is the justification.

Minneapolis Fed chief pushing for 'hard' nationwide shutdown lasting 4 to 6 weeks

Neel Kashkari says America can afford to keep paying unemployment benefits until recovery occurs

Neel Kashkari, president of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank, is calling for America to go into a "hard" shutdown for at least a month, saying it is necessary to stop the spread of COVID-19 and arguing that the U.S. government can afford it.

Kashkari made his case for shutting down during an interview on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday, saying, "If we were to lock down really hard — I hate to even suggest it, people will be frustrated by it — but if we were to lock down hard for a month or six weeks, we could get the case count down so that our testing and our contact tracing was actually enough to control it."

"If we don't do that," Kashkari continued, "and we just have this raging virus spreading throughout the country with flare-ups and local lockdowns for the next year or two — which is entirely possible — we're going to see many, many more business bankruptcies...and that's going to take a lot of time to recover from to rebuild those businesses and then to bring workers back in."'

He argued, "That's going to be a much slower recovery for all of us."

The Minneapolis fed chief also said that despite 20 million Americans being out of work due to the coronavirus crisis, the one bright spot he sees is that the savings rate has gone up among those who do still have an income. He says that means the debt incurred from the possible continuation of elevated unemployment benefits does not concern him.

"Those of us who are fortunate enough to still have our jobs, we're saving a lot more money because we're not going to restaurants or movie theaters or vacations," Kashkari said. "That actually means we have a lot more resources as a country to support those who have been laid off."

He explained, "While historically we would worry about racking up too much debt, we're generating this savings ourselves. That means Congress has the resources to support those who are most hurting."

Kashkari reiterated his position on Monday, arguing on Twitter, "Want to open schools? Do a hard lockdown now for 6 weeks to get the virus under control then open schools late September. I haven't heard any other strategy to reopen safely that sounds remotely plausible given rampant spread in many areas."

He shared a Wall Street Journal op-ed to bolster his argument.

Garrison: The Revenge Of "Real Money" Or "Cashless Enslavement Of Humanity"?

Just over 10 years ago I drew several pro-silver cartoons. One of them showed a giant, fast-moving silver coin cutting the JP Morgan ‘paper tiger’ in half. For years, JPM had shorted silver and has been doing it illegally and collusively. I knew this, but I went ‘all in’ on silver anyway because I thought JPM would have to cover and spark a massive short squeeze. I was convinced my long positions would make me a fortune. Instead JPM drove the price of silver down from almost $50 early in 2011 all the way down to $13 just a few years later. Paper covered rock. Needless to say, I learned a hard lesson about putting all my eggs in a silver basket.

Now silver is back up over $20 and some are predicting much higher prices on the horizon, just like they said over 10 years ago. Gold is also close to making ‘all-time highs,’ which is incorrect because inflation needs to be factored into such a high due to years of incessant dollar printing. Silver and gold have broken out higher due to a weaker dollar and some experts such as Peter Schiff claim ‘King Dollar’ will die due to over-printing.

I have my doubts.

The dollar is still greatly desired by America’s poor and the middle classes, whose wages have not risen much in nearly 30 years. They are not getting more dollars like citizens did in Weimar Germany. You won’t see dollars in wheelbarrows any time soon. Most of the Federal Reserve’s dollar printing goes directly to a handful of fantastically wealthy people at the top of the pyramid.

Many of them own the Federal Reserve. The Fed is propping up a market that is mostly owned by the top.

We The People are not receiving what the Fed is buying whether it is treasuries, corporate bonds, or ETFs, but we are forced to pay for it. Citizens must cough up more taxes to pay the interest on the absurdly high debt in order to make sure the fabulously rich get fabulously richer.

Until those at the very top start giving their money away to the rest of the country, the dollar will be fine.

No, I’m not advocating class warfare and it’s not socialism. What we’re seeing is not capitalism.

The top 1 percent is getting their money by ill-gotten means. It’s fascism when their Fed gets to pick and choose which globalist company or sector to prop up.

I took some time off in Idaho last week and I visited one of my favorite places on Earth: Wallace. It’s a mining town in northern Idaho. It’s just off I-90 and has a long, storied history. It’s also known as the center of the universe and it is—at least when it comes to silver. There are many silver mines in the surrounding area, also known as ‘The Silver Valley.’ A total of 1.2 billion ounces of silver came out of those mines over the years and there’s still plenty of silver left.

NOTICE the time frame of Kary M. Death...

Kary Banks Mullis (December 28, 1944 – August 7, 2019) was an American biochemist. In recognition of his invention of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique, he shared the 1993 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Michael Smith[4] and was awarded the Japan Prize in the same year. His invention became a central technique in biochemistry and molecular biology, described by The New York Times as "highly original and significant, virtually dividing biology into the two epochs of before PCR and after PCR."[5]

Oprah Hosts White Guilt Session: ‘Whiteness Gives You an Advantage No Matter What’

Billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey declared in an episode of her eponymous series, The Oprah Conversation that “whiteness” and “white privilege” afford unspecified benefits to white people in the “caste system” of America.

In an episode entitled “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man: Part 1” — featuring former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho and drawing its name from Acho’s YouTube series of the same name — Oprah Winfrey invited several white people to discuss “racism,” “white privilege,” and “whiteness.” Oprah praised her white guests for accusing themselves of being “racist.”

Oprah said:

There are white people who are not as powerful as the system of white people — the caste system that’s been put in place — but they still, no matter where they are on the rung, or the ladder of success, they still have their whiteness.

[Whites have a] leg up. You still have your whiteness. That’s what the term “white privilege” is. It means that whiteness still gives you an advantage, no matter.

“It is the fundamental issue,” declared Oprah of racial assumptions.

Gun sales exploding, July FBI checks jump 79%

For the third month this year, the FBI reported record-shattering gun sales background checks, the latest indication that the 2020 election, concerns about the coronavirus crisis, and race protests are pushing gun purchases to a historic high.

On the heels of the 3,931,607 background checks in June, the most ever in the 14-year history of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, the FBI on Monday said that July checks totaled 3,639,224, the third-highest monthly total ever. March saw the second-highest ever at 3,740,688.

Overall, the FBI has conducted 22,819,271 background checks this year, nearly 44% over last year, when checks through July totaled 15,890,359.

Month over month, July’s numbers represent a 79% increase over July 2019.

While the number does not exactly correlate with gun sales, it is used to estimate the number of weapons that trade hands. It also includes checks for those applying for concealed carry permits.

The industry group Small Arms Analytics & Forecasting said sales reached 2 million in July, for a 134% increase over July 2019.

The number of NICS checks helps to explain the lack of guns and ammo at stores and the record backlog of orders at gun-makers and ammunition suppliers.

At the huge online firearms site Brownells, for example, weapons sales are up 90%, led by handguns. Ammo sales are up 30%, and web traffic to Brownells.com has been up 60%-70%.

Brownells spokesman Ryan Repp told Secrets, "Uncertainty is definitely driving firearm, ammo, and related accessory sales right now. With talk of defunding police, a nationwide pandemic that is putting a strain on emergency services, it’s the 'perfect storm' of uncertainty, and we’re seeing people across the political spectrum turn to firearm ownership for the first time. At Brownells, we’ve seen a 90% lift in firearm sales, a 30% lift in ammunition sales, and web traffic continues to outpace ‘normal’ by about 60%. The firearm market right now is really only limited by supply as industry manufacturers work to catch up.”

A visit by Secrets last week to three gun stores in Virginia found two with just a handful of weapons for sale and a third where ammunition was swept off the shelves the minute it was stocked.

Louisiana AG Jeff Landry Blasts Facebook Censorship of Breitbart in Letter to Zuckerberg

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has written a letter to Mark Zuckerberg, blasting the Facebook CEO and his platform for censoring medical discussion around coronavirus, in particular the censoring of a viral Breitbart News video of a press conference with frontline doctors and a member of Congress discussing responses to the virus.

“It seems you and your team at Facebook choose to censor or misuse your algorithms to downplay voices on one side of the issues while failing to do so on the other,” said Landry.

“Recently, Breitbart News and others live-streamed a group of licensed American doctors who were sharing their professional medical opinions regarding COVID-19. Apparently, Facebook made a choice to limit their voices.”

The Louisiana attorney general went on to highlight Zuckerberg’s comments at the recent House Judiciary Committee hearing, where the Facebook CEO accused the doctors’ press conference of having the potential to “cause imminent risk of harm.”

Landry slams Zuckerberg for uncritically repeating information from the World Health Organization (WHO), despite the embattled organization’s well-documented track record of errors and mistakes about the pandemic.

https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2020/08/03/exclusive-louisiana-ag-jeff-landry-blasts-facebook-censorship-of-breitbart-in-letter-to-zuckerberg/

The Breitbart News video censored by Facebook was of a press conference of the organization America’s Frontline Doctors, hosted by the organization America’s Frontline Doctors, a group founded by Dr. Simone Gold, a board-certified physician and attorney and organized by the Tea Party Patriots.

A member of Congress, Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), also spoke at the event, meaning the social network censored a politician — something Zuckerberg has repeatedly promised not to do.

“In our free country, the American people deserve to hear all voices and stories so they can evaluate information and make decisions for themselves,” wrote Landry, who concluded his letter by calling on Zuckerberg to “set aside hysteria” and stop allowing “blatant political bias to scare doctors and their patients away from a potential lifesaving treatment.”

“You can give access to all the information available on this pandemic. You can allow users to make decisions for themselves.”

Anon,

I know how difficult the past few months have been. Your unwavering support during this time has not gone unnoticed.

I am writing to you now, not to ask for a contribution, but to ask for your help.

We are all in this together, and while I know there has been some confusion surrounding the usage of face masks, I think it’s something we should all try to do when we are not able to be socially distanced from others.

I don’t love wearing them either. Masks may be good, they may be just okay, or they may be great. They can possibly help us get back to our American way of life that so many of us rightfully cherished before we were so terribly impacted by the China Virus.

My feeling is, we have nothing to lose, and possibly everything to gain, including the next chapter to our country, and to keep things open whether it be schools or businesses.

I recently tweeted that many view wearing a mask as a patriotic act, and there is no one more patriotic than me and you. Why not give it a shot!

If you would like more information on the benefits of wearing a face mask, or information on how to get one, please follow this link. >>

Thank you,

POTUS

Singapore to tag visitors with electronic monitoring devices to ensure Covid-19 quarantine compliance

New arrivals to Singapore won’t necessarily have to quarantine at a government facility during the pandemic - some, including residents, will receive an electronic monitoring device that will alert authorities if they leave home.

Singapore announced on Monday it will track incoming travelers coming from a select group of countries - including residents and citizens - with electronic monitoring devices, starting August 11.

Authorities framed the trackers as a positive for travelers, noting they would allow recipients to self-isolate at home instead of quarantining in a government facility. New arrivals will be ordered to activate the devices upon reaching home, at which point they are programmed to alert the authorities should the user try to leave or tamper with the device.

It’s not clear what kind of device the city-state plans to use, though the announcement hints at something quite a bit beefier than the slimline electronic wristbands Hong Kong deployed in March and South Korea has also adopted. Authorities hinted that recipients are supposed to receive and acknowledge notifications on the device itself, rather than on a smartphone app linked to the device as is the case in Seoul.

However, the city-state has sought to reassure recipients that the device will not store personal data and does not have the ability to record or store audio or video.

Singapore was one of the first places to adopt tech-enhanced contact-tracing to manage its Covid-19 outbreak, developing a Bluetooth-powered app called TraceTogether which - despite initial fanfare - reportedly failed to attract more than 25 percent of the population (and was quite useless for those without smartphones). Because the app was programmed before Google and Apple rolled out their contact-tracing platform, it doesn’t work well on iPhones and is a huge drain on battery life.

(Why would James Murdoch want to put so much money into a failing art fair, Art Basel?)

Media Scion James Murdoch Now Owns a Controlling Stake in MCH Group, Art Basel’s Struggling Parent Company

The decision comes days after the younger Murdoch resigned from News Corp due to "disagreements over editorial content."

Shareholders of Art Basel’s parent company, MCH Group, have agreed to a package of stabilizing measures put forward by its board of directors earlier this month. All of its proposals, including a much-discussed cash infusion from media scion James Murdoch, passed in an Extraordinary General Meeting this morning, August 3, and MCH can now begin to implement them.

The proposed measures for financial recovery include steps to restructure its debt, but the main focus was an enormous suggested infusion of CHF 74.5 million (about $80 million) from James Murdoch, the younger son of News Corp founder Rupert Murdoch.

The proposal, which would make Murdoch the Swiss company’s new “anchor shareholder” had courted controversy because of his association with his father’s rightwing mass media corporation, and many thought that could be enough to sink the deal. But more than 70 percent of the company’s shareholders who voted—a total of 848 shareholders representing some 91.2 percent of the nominal share value—took a favorable position towards the proposals this morning.
