Former President Donald Trump adviser Stephen K. Bannon reported to federal prison on Monday to begin his four-month prison sentence after being held in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the January 6 Select Committee. Bannon, the host of the War Room podcast, reported to the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, around noon, according to CBS News. Prior to beginning his four-month sentence, Bannon broadcast his final edition of War Room for the duration of his imprisonment from outside the federal prison, stating that he is “a political prisoner.”

I wonder if there is a connection between the Retreat Behavioral Health suicides and the Epstein case?

One of the Epstein victims went to a rehab facility in Palm Beach County and Retreat had a facility there. Epstein's place was right by Mar-a-lago so I entered that on googlemaps.

Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-Ind., has been charged with weapons violation at Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority confirmed to NBC News on Monday.

The spokesperson, who said the congresswoman was charged on Friday, cited a section of Virginia state law tied to the dangerous use of firearms or other weapons, which makes it a crime to “possess or transport" a gun or a variety of other dangerous weapons "into any air carrier airport terminal." The statute classifies the violation as a misdemeanor.

NBC News has reached out to Spartz’s office for comment.

Spartz, who is the first Ukrainian-born immigrant to serve in Congress, is seeking re-election in Indiana’s 5th Congressional District, which includes suburbs north of Indianapolis and is rated solidly Republican by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. She won her primary in May, defeating a challenger who took aim at her support of Ukraine aid and other issues.

Spartz is not the first lawmaker in recent years to face a violation tied to possessing a weapon at an airport.

Then-Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C., was cited in 2022 for having a loaded handgun at a security checkpoint at an airport in his home state. He had been stopped twice with a firearm at an airport during his two years in office. Cawthorn lost his primary in 2022.

RNC Files Motion to Enforce Proof-of-Citizenship Requirements for Arizona Voters

The Republican National Committee (RNC) and members of the Arizona legislature have filed a motion to stay a court decision striking down the state’s proof-of-citizenship voting requirements, officials announced Monday.

“If this motion is successful, Arizona can enforce its law requiring documentary proof of citizenship to vote in this November’s presidential election or cast a ballot by mail in any election,” the RNC said in a statement to Breitbart News.

Republicans have referred to this fight as a “landmark” legal development for election integrity in Arizona as they battle in federal district court.

hen Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer telephoned a senior official with President Biden’s campaign on Friday night, she wanted to convey a clear message: She hated the way her name was being floated as a replacement for Biden and she wasn’t behind the chatter.

Whitmer’s conversation with the official, campaign chair Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, was cordial but awkward by its very nature. In the aftermath of the president’s disastrous debate performance last Thursday, no would-be replacement has been the recipient of more wish-casting among despairing Democrats than the second-term Michigan governor.

Whitmer, recognizing as much, disavowed the Draft Gretch chatter. She used the call to reiterate her commitment and willingness to help the president but also voiced her concern about how much more difficult the campaign would be now for Biden, I’m told by a person familiar with the call.

Even more revealing is how word of the call reached me: from someone close to a potential 2028 Whitmer rival for the Democratic presidential nomination. This person said Whitmer had phoned O’Malley Dillon with more of an unambiguous SOS: to relay that Michigan, in the wake of the debate, was no longer winnable for Biden.

In a statement Monday after this column went online, Whitmer said: “I am proud to support Joe Biden as our nominee and I am behind him 100 percent in the fight to defeat Donald Trump. Not only do I believe Joe can win Michigan, I know he can because he’s got the receipts.”

Yet that such political bladework is already taking place from a potential future opponent illustrates how badly her rivals want to wound Whitmer, by portraying her as being disloyal to Biden in his hour of need. Yet it also captures what an extraordinary, and extraordinarily precarious, moment this is for the well-stocked bench of Democratic governors who are eager to succeed Biden.

No Democrats, at least this side of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, have more at stake in the president’s fate than the governors.

If Biden does take the (highly unlikely) step of dropping out of the race, a group of them would assuredly join the lightning-quick contest to replace them. ...

Election Model: Trump Will Win Popular Vote by Wide Margin

Former President Trump leads President Joe Biden by six points in the probability of winning the popular vote in November, Nate Silver’s election model forecasted June 30 after the first presidential debate.

The last Republican to win the popular vote was George W. Bush in 2004 with 50.73 percent.

Silver’s election model’s forecast is the first time it predicted Trump would defeat Biden with the popular vote. Trump was previously behind by two points one day before the debate, the forecast predicted.

The probability that Trump will win the electoral college, the process by which the election is decided, is 68.4 percent. President Joe Biden’s chances of reelection are 31 percent.

An increasing number of dual citizens are being prevented from leaving the war-torn country, the Israeli embassy in Kiev has said

Israelis who also hold Ukrainian passports should avoid traveling to Ukraine due to increasing reports of dual citizens not being allowed to leave the country, the Israeli embassy in Kiev has warned.

The warning comes as the Ukrainian authorities tighten mobilization laws, which prevent all men aged 18 to 60 from leaving the country while it is under martial law. Last month, the Ukrainian border guard extended the measure to even those who hold a second passport and have permanent residence abroad.

In a message on his official Telegram channel on Monday, the Israeli ambassador to Kiev, Michael Brodsky, wrote that all Israelis with Ukrainian citizenship should “consider the expediency of visiting Ukraine during wartime.”

“In case of detention of the holder of dual citizenship, the Embassy will not be able to provide assistance in the matter of departure from Ukraine,” Brodsky wrote, noting an increase in recent cases of Israeli passport holders being detained at the Ukrainian border.

A similar warning was also issued last month by the US embassy in Kiev, which “strongly” advised dual citizens from outside Ukraine not to travel to the country, noting that there is an “extremely high risk” that they would not be allowed to leave, even with an American passport. As for those who are already on Ukrainian soil, the embassy advised them to “shelter in place and comply with all local orders.”

Kiev announced a general mobilization shortly after the hostilities with Russia broke out in February 2022, barring most military-aged men from leaving the country. However, this effort has been marred by widespread graft and draft-dodging. More recently, faced with mounting battlefield losses, Vladimir Zelensky passed a law that lowered the draft age from 27 to 25 and another that significantly tightened mobilization rules.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian border service has reported that over 100 people have been attempting to flee the country every day using various methods in order to avoid mobilization. Some have even lost their lives in the process. At least 45 Ukrainians are reported to have died in rough terrain trying to flee the country last month, with many drowning in the Tisza River, which flows through southwestern Ukraine, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Serbia.

NICE, France (AP) — At just 28 years old, Jordan Bardella has helped make the far-right National Rally the strongest political force in France. And now he could become the country’s youngest prime minister.

After voters propelled Marine Le Pen’s National Rally to a strong lead in Sunday’s first round of snap legislative elections, Bardella turned to rallying supporters to hand their party an absolute majority in the decisive round on July 7. That would allow the anti-immigration, nationalist party to run the government, with Bardella at the helm.

Who is the National Rally president?

When Bardella replaced his mentor, Marine Le Pen, in 2022 at the helm of France’s leading far-right party, he became the first person without the Le Pen name to lead it since its founding a half-century ago.

His selection marked a symbolic changing of the guard. It was part of Le Pen’s decade-long effort to rebrand her party, with its history of racism, and remove the stigma of antisemitism that clung to it in order to broaden its base. She has notably distanced herself from her now-ostracized father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, who co-founded the party, then called the National Front, and who has been repeatedly convicted of hate speech.

Bardella is part of a generation of young people who joined the party under Marine Le Pen in the 2010s but likely wouldn’t have done so under her father. ...

BOSTON - Migrant familieswill soon be bannedfrom sleeping overnight at Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey announced Friday.

Sleeping at the airport will be prohibited starting July 9. Instead, migrants staying at Logan will be offered a transfer to a controversial new safety-net site at an old prison in Norfolk. Staff at Logan will inform migrants of the new policy and help them get somewhere else "where they have family or another option for a safe place to say," the state said.

For months, dozens of families have been spending the night at the airport, and sources told WBZ's I-Team that Massachusetts State Police are being paid overtime to help them.

"We've never thought that Logan was an appropriate place for people to be staying overnight," said Healey. (yeah right, prove it? Liars)

"Massachusetts is out of shelter space"

The new policy comes days after Healey sent representatives to the southern border in Texas to spread the word that Massachusetts shelters are full. The state's emergency shelter system hit a capacity of 7,500 families back in November.

"You have to have something in your heart for the migrants but you also have to think about what are the laws and traditions," said one Massachusetts resident.

Emergency Assistance Director Scott Rice, who traveled to the border earlier this week, said the Norfolk site and a new nine-month time limit for families in the emergency shelter system put the state in a position to end overnight stays at the airport.

"This is in the best interest of families and travelers and staff at Logan, as the airport is not an appropriate place for people to seek shelter," Rice said in a statement. "We are going to continue to spread the word that Massachusetts is out of shelter space and that, if families are travelling to Massachusetts, they need to be prepared with a plan for housing that does not include Logan Airport or our Emergency Assistance shelters." (This is what is happening, rich people are coming in for the Summer months and they don't want to see illegals in the airport, they are going to Cape Cod and all the other elite islands, and Healy is afraid of losing a ton of money from the spending the summer there, I lived in the NE, it's the biggest money making season there is in MA)

"We've given, I think, enough lead time to work with case managers and service providers in finding new locations for people and we've also made clear to people who might think about coming to Massachusetts that we're not going to be able to provide housing," said Healey.

State pushing to shorten time people stay in shelters

The governor also said the state has been pushing to shorten the length of time people stay in shelters. "We've processed nearly 4,000 people for work permits and many of them are employed right now in hospitality and healthcare. We've also seen 200 to 300 families exit every month from the shelter system."

When I was a kid I really wanted to know things. I would ride my ten-speed to the library in our little suburban Massachusetts town, say "hi" to Mrs. Johnson the librarian, and scour the card catalog to find things I didn't know. I liked maps and old history. I liked fiction and stories about girls my age. I liked tales of adventure told by great American men. As I grew up, my obsession with libraries was unceasing and I discovered that if you looked deep enough, there were records of everything. In college, I poured over microfilm of old issues of The New York Times or defunct old news outlets like the Philadelphia Tribune that were kept in storage but hadn't been publishing for years, sometimes decades. Kids who are hungry for knowledge of the past will find gaping holes in those records: all beginning with the erasure of MTV News.

Analog records have lasting power, check out the Dead Sea Scrolls for evidence. Now, as we trust more and more of our history to the internet, the potential for a digital dark age looms, where our history is lost not due to fire, flood or famine, but to penny-pinching execs who just don't want to pay to keep the archive of humanity in existence. AI generated content is a perpetual regurgitation machine that becomes increasingly useless, as the records on which feeds are eliminated from the internet.

Archives should never disappear or be eliminated.Now MTV News has been entirely removed from the internet, the only real archive we have in our ephemeral contemporary era. The records of over twenty years of pop culture journalismfrom the pre-social media era through to when the network ceased production last year are lost forever. All those records are just gone, wiped from servers, inaccessible.

That knowledge of what culture looked like, of what the younger generation thought of itself, of our popular arts and music, those key stories we told about ourselves in our fleeting present are entirely erased. This is nothing short of a tragedy, it is the burning of books, the torching of libraries, the snapping of the rope that ties us to who we were.

We all heard the story of the Library at Alexandria that was sacked and burned during the Crusades and lament the knowledge lost. When fragments of old scrolls are discovered by archeologists we're all curious to know what our ancient ancestors deemed worthy enough to write down and keep. The stories of our past are how we know where we came from, what we expected of ourselves, how we landed where we are, and how to understand where we're going.

A practice that seemed commonplace, digging into original source materials, now seems like a remnant of a past era that will never exist again. These were my first thoughts when I heard that MTV News was not only taken off the air, but all record of their content was removed by Paramount Global. It's one thing to stop publishing, but it's quite another to eliminate the archives—more than two decades worth of it. Music journalism, interviews with artists, producers, fans, alt-media reactions to major world events like 9/11, the Iraq war, Obama, Trump, and so much more. Paramount also pulled archives for country music outlet CMT. The stuff is not even available in the Wayback Machine.

It's certainly possible that in the grand scheme of things, MTV News is not a very big deal. MTV News, started in the late 1980s with The Week in Rock, was a broadcast program on a cable station that was launched simply to play music videos. The fact of the matter was that the only reason they turned to broadcast programming was so that they'd have something to show in the TV Guide listings of what was airing when and because they needed to sell advertising, which was hard to do when the programming was nothing but endless blocks of music videos. Many of us loved endless blocks of music videos. I'd take my boom box up to the tv room and record songs onto audio cassettes trying not to make any shuffling sounds against the carpet as I sat, as motionless as I could muster, right beneath the tv speakers...

A judge in Florida has ordered the surprise release of graphic transcripts from the state's 2006 prosecution of paedophile Jeffrey Epstein - a probe that ended with the millionaire financier receiving a legal slap on the wrist.

Epstein cut a deal in 2008 to avoid charges of sex trafficking and rape. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and was sentenced to 13 months in prison.

The nearly 200 pages of documents contain details of Epstein's crimes, including first-hand accounts from victims and specifics about payoffs to underage victims.

On Monday, Circuit Judge Luis Delgado ordered the 16-year-old documents released, writing that "details in the record will be outrageous to decent people".

"The testimony taken by the Grand Jury concerns activity ranging from grossly unacceptable to rape — all of the conduct at issue is sexually deviant, disgusting, and criminal."

Referring to Epstein as "the most infamous pedophile in American history", the judge added that the state's leniency in the case "been the subject of much anger and has at times diminished the public's perception of the criminal justice system".

"Epstein is indeed notorious and infamous and is widely reported to have flaunted his wealth while cavorting with politicians, billionaires, and even British Royalty," he continued.

"It is understandable that given those reports the public has a great curiosity about what was widely reported by news (agencies) as 'special treatment' regarding his prosecution."

The release of the files came on the same day that a new Florida law took effect permitting grand jury documents from 2006 to be released. Grand jury documents are normally never made public.

Convicted in 2008 for soliciting prostitution from a minor, Epstein had moved in social circles that included key figures in the world of business and politics. Those figures included people like former presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton to celebrities and even Prince Andrew.

New scrutiny of Epstein began in 2018 after the Miami Herald published interviews with Epstein victims, including some who were seeking civil charges against him.

The renewed interest in the case led prosecutors to file new criminal charges.

Over 150 pages of transcripts related to a 2006 grand jury investigation into allegations against Jeffrey Epstein were released to the public Monday afternoon.

Circuit Judge Luis Delgado of the 15th Judicial Court of Florida ordered the release of the documents—which have been kept sealed for nearly two decades—after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill in February allowing the transcripts to be released on July 1 or afterward.

Epstein, a millionaire and financier who in 2019 was charged with sex trafficking minors in Florida and New York, died at age 66 while in a New York City jail cell awaiting trial. Federal authorities said that the well-known socialite died by suicide.

The documents released on Monday pertain to an investigation into sex trafficking and rape allegations made against Epstein in 2006 in South Florida. The defendant's attorneys cut a deal with federal prosecutors in 2008 that allowed Epstein to plead guilty to state charges of procuring a person under 18 for prostitution and solicitation of prostitution, helping him evade more severe federal charges.

At the time, Epstein, who once had an estimated net worth of nearly $600 million, was sentenced to 18 months, and the plea deal was criticized as being too lenient. Palm Beach County Clerk Joseph Abruzzo said in a statement that releasing the grand jury documents helps "ensure transparency to the people of Palm Beach County that we serve every day, and to the international community that has closely followed the Epstein case."

"It is our hope that the release of these records gives peace of mind to our community and gives Jeffrey Epstein's victims the closure they deserve," Abruzzo added.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Tuesday that the U.S. will soon announce an additional $2.3 billion in security assistance for Ukraine, to include anti-tank weapons, interceptors and munitions for Patriot and other air defense systems.

The announcement came as Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with Austin at the Pentagon. And it marks a strong response to pleas from Kyiv for help in battling Russian forces in the Donetsk region.

NGC 602: Oyster Star Cluster

The clouds may look like an oyster, and the stars like pearls, but look beyond. Near the outskirts of the Small Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy some 200 thousand light-years distant, lies this 5 million year old star cluster NGC 602. Surrounded by its birth shell of gas and dust, star cluster NGC 602 is featured in this stunning Hubble image, augmented in a rollover by images in the X-ray by the Chandra Observatory and in the infrared by Spitzer Telescope. Fantastic ridges and swept back gas strongly suggest that energetic radiation and shock waves from NGC 602's massive young stars have eroded the dusty material and triggered a progression of star formation moving away from the star cluster's center. At the estimated distance of the Small Magellanic Cloud, the featured picture spans about 200 light-years, but a tantalizing assortment of background galaxies are also visible in this sharp view. The background galaxies are hundreds of millions of light-years or more beyond NGC 602.

Manhattan prosecutors said Tuesday they would not oppose Donald Trump’s request to delay the sentencing in his hush money trial as he seeks to have the conviction overturned following a Supreme Court ruling that granted broad immunity protections to presidents.

In a letter filed with the New York court, prosecutors with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office said they would be open to a two-week delay in the July 11 sentencing in order to file a response to Trump’s motions.

“Although we believe defendant’s arguments to be without merit, we do not oppose his request” to delay the sentencing pending determination of the motion, the prosecutors wrote.

The letter came one day after Trump’s attorney requested the judge delay the sentencing as he weighs the high court’s decision and how it could influence the New York case.

The lawyers argue that the Supreme Court’s decision confirmed a position the defense raised earlier in the case that prosecutors should have been precluded from introducing some evidence the Trump team said constituted official presidential acts, according to the letter.

If a delay is indeed granted, it would push a sentencing decision past the Republican National Convention, which will kick off in Milwaukee on July 15. That means that Trump, now the presumptive GOP nominee, could become the Republican presidential candidate while it remains unknown what sentence he will face.

Trump’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

NASA's Webb Captures Celestial Fireworks Around Forming Star

The cosmos seems to come alive with a crackling explosion of pyrotechnics in this new image from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope.

Taken with Webb’s MIRI (Mid-Infrared Instrument), this fiery hourglass marks the scene of a very young object in the process of becoming a star.

A central protostar grows in the neck of the hourglass, accumulating material from a thin protoplanetary disk, seen edge-on as a dark line.

The protostar, a relatively young object of about 100,000 years, is still surrounded by its parent molecular cloud, or large region of gas and dust.

Webb’s previous observation of L1527, with NIRCam (Near-Infrared Camera), allowed us to peer into this region and revealed this molecular cloud and protostar in opaque, vibrant colors.

Both NIRCam and MIRI show the effects of outflows, which are emitted in opposite directions along the protostar’s rotation axis as the object consumes gas and dust from the surrounding cloud.

These outflows take the form of bow shocks to the surrounding molecular cloud, which appear as filamentary structures throughout.

They are also responsible for carving the bright hourglass structure within the molecular cloud as they energize, or excite, the surrounding matter and cause the regions above and below it to glow.

This creates an effect reminiscent of fireworks brightening a cloudy night sky. Unlike NIRCam, however, which mostly shows the light that is reflected off dust, MIRI provides a look into how these outflows affect the region’s thickest dust and gases.

The areas colored here in blue, which encompass most of the hourglass, show mostly carbonaceous molecules known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

The protostar itself and the dense blanket of dust and a mixture of gases that surround it are represented in red. (The sparkler-like red extensions are an artifact of the telescope’s optics).

In between, MIRI reveals a white region directly above and below the protostar, which doesn’t show as strongly in the NIRCam view.

This region is a mixture of hydrocarbons, ionized neon, and thick dust, which shows that the protostar propels this matter quite far away from it as it messily consumes material from its disk.

As the protostar continues to age and release energetic jets, it’ll consume, destroy, and push away much of this molecular cloud, and many of the structures we see here will begin to fade.

Eventually, once it finishes gathering mass, this impressive display will end, and the star itself will become more apparent, even to our visible-light telescopes.

The combination of analyses from both the near-infrared and mid-infrared views reveal the overall behavior of this system, including how the central protostar is affecting the surrounding region.

Other stars in Taurus, the star-forming region where L1527 resides, are forming just like this, which could lead to other molecular clouds being disrupted and either preventing new stars from forming or catalyzing their development.

Mission Success: HERA Crew Successfully Completes 45-Day Simulated Journey to Mars

Four dedicated explorers—Jason Lee, Stephanie Navarro, Shareef Al Romaithi, and Piyumi Wijesekara—just returned from a 45-day simulated journey to Mars, testing the boundaries of human endurance and teamwork within NASA’s HERA (Human Exploration Research Analog) habitat at Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Their groundbreaking work on HERA’s Campaign 7 Mission 2 contributes to NASA’s efforts to study how future astronauts may react to isolation and confinement during deep-space journeys.

Throughout their mission, the crew conducted operational tasks and participated in 18 human health studies.

These studies focused on behavioral health, team dynamics, and human-system interfaces, with seven being collaborative efforts with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the European Space Agency.

These experiments assessed the crew’s physiological, behavioral, and psychological responses in conditions designed to be similar to a mission to Mars.

As their mission concluded, the HERA crew watched real footage from the Artemis I mission to simulate their landing.

HERA operations lead Ted Babic rang the bell outside the habitat nine times to celebrate the crew’s egress—seven for the campaign and two for the mission—saying, “All in a safe passage to Mars and a safe return to Earth.

May this vessel be a safe home to future HERA crews.” Babic then presented the crew with their mission patch, which they placed on the door of the HERA habitat.

The crew expressed their gratitude to everyone involved in the mission, including NASA and MBRSC, the HERA mission control center, NASA’s Human Research Program (HRP) team, Analog Mission Control, medical teams, and their family and friends.

Wijesekara shared, “This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life. I’d like to thank my crewmates for making this experience memorable and enjoyable.”

Firefly Alpha Rocket Set to Launch Eight CubeSats for NASA Today

Originally scheduled for Monday night, the launch faced a delay due to a ground equipment issue and is now rescheduled for no earlier than Tuesday, July 2, at 9:03 p.m. PDT from Space Launch Complex 2 at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The mission, named Noise of Summer, marks Firefly's fifth launch attempt with its Alpha rocket. The primary objective of this mission is to deploy eight CubeSats into a sun-synchronous Earth orbit.

These CubeSats are part of NASA's CubeSat Launch Initiative (CSLI), a program designed to provide educational institutions and nonprofits a pathway to space.

Firefly Aerospace is one of three companies selected to fly small satellites under NASA’s Launch Services Program Venture-Class Launch Services Demonstration 2 (VCLS Demo 2) contract, which was awarded in December 2020.

When it launches, the two-stage, 29.48 meter (96.7-foot) tall Alpha rocket will send eight CubeSats from multiple universities and NASA centers to a sun-synchronous Earth orbit.

The mission countdown reached T-8 seconds when the first abort call came through, described as a “ground support issue.”

Launch teams recycled to T-19 minutes but eventually scrubbed the attempt due to a second abort call at T-10 minutes and 12 seconds.

Firefly stated on social media, "The team has identified the solution and is working quickly to meet our next launch window on July 2nd."

The eight CubeSats onboard are part of NASA's CubeSat Launch Initiative and include a variety of educational and technological experiments. The payloads include:

CatSat (University of Arizona) will demonstrate a deployable antenna for high-speed communications. This technology could significantly improve the capability of small satellites to communicate with ground stations.

KUbeSat-1 (University of Kansas) will study cosmic rays, aiming to understand the energy and species of primary cosmic rays striking Earth.

MESAT-1 (University of Maine) will analyze temperatures to predict algal blooms, using multispectral cameras to determine phytoplankton concentrations in bodies of water.

R5-S4 and R5-S2-2.0 (NASA Johnson Space Center) aim to improve CubeSat design and performance. These satellites will test new processes for faster and cheaper development of high-performance CubeSats. Sam Pedrotty, R5 project manager at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, explained, "In the near term, R5 hopes to demonstrate new processes that allow for faster and cheaper development of high-performance CubeSats. The cost and schedule improvements will allow R5 to provide higher-risk ride options to low-Technology Readiness Levels payloads so more can be demonstrated on-orbit."

Serenity (Teachers in Space) includes educational experiments accessible via ham radio, allowing anyone to collect data or pictures from the satellite.

SOC-i (University of Washington) will test attitude control technology, using a guidance and control system called SOAR to avoid pointing instruments directly at the Sun while maintaining power to solar panels.

TechEdSat-11 (NASA Ames Research Center) features several technological demonstrations, including an exo-brake for deorbiting, advanced communications, and radiation sensors.
