Why so little appreciation for at worst the third greatest German philosopher? Like a Kant who could effectively communicate, a Nietzsche with someothing to teach ya - what isn't to like?
And nobody but music post-grads and history of philosophy guys pays him any attention. Hegel, Schlegel, even Nagel get more attention. This guy pushed his landlady down a flight of stairs, and wrote a serious article about ghosts.Next time you're hungry for wisdom, consider picking up The World as Will and Representation Volume 1 - but for the love of the will and it's direct expression, music, pick a more recent translation. Oh, and read Kant first or you won't get much out of it.
