Yes.
Currently we are second to nature itself (chaos) in terms of power on this planet. There are no predators more dangerous than us, we build structures larger and more sophisticated than are found in nature. We have adapted so much so that it's less dangerous to us, or at least more comfy.
Though some city-dwelling westerners have almost fallen back to animal-kind in their Hedonism, Humanity as whole is pretty damn strong and able to overcome everything nature throws at us.
It should be remembered that even if we understand our immense power, we have to constantly keep adapting and improving. If we stop even for a decade, the civilisation will fall apart from the inside. Conflicts, uneducated humans, fanatics, all are a thread that should be fought against, but not eliminated, lest we forget the struggle, and become the ones we were fighting against.
Humanity has immeasurable mental and physical strenght, we just have not yet managed to put it to full use. Use of power should not be our goal, it will happen within few centuries anyway, if we keep going like we currently are.
