Man, I'm just lost

What's the difference between continental and analytical philosophers? I've just been stumbling in the darkness learning basic things without seriously considering the differences.

I see.

Do they research different questions or do they just usually come to different answers?

Any more direct comparisons available here?

Analytic philosophers care about getting to the truth. Continental philosophers worry about feelings, namely, that their audience feels they're philosopher-y.

Analytic philosophers often rigorously and accurately prove picayune details that nobody cares about. Continental philosophers occasionally stumble across the right answers to important questions.

If there is more than one school of thought, it is not science but intellectual masturbation.

>Poland

Is this a joke? I'm Polish and I have to say that Poland has very rich tradition of analytic philosophy. The fact tha we're not an island doesn't imply that we are necessarily "continental", please research Lwów-Warsaw school, with emphasis on Ajdukiewicz, Tarski and Twardowski as well as praxeological school of T. Kotarbiński.

Poland is a backwards religious country where they burn their garbage and then die of asthma but still protest the government for trying to educate them. That's the result of continental philosophy there.

Sounds like the difference between ethics of morality or aesthetics (how do I want to live my life, and whay do I personally find beautiful), and the semi-mathematical proofs of philosophy. They serve different purposes.

Emiya Shirou/Archer would be a continental philosopher, and we know how he ended up.

Okay so, where do I begin with this one

>People who do dumb things are continental, for continental philosophers are people who do dumb things. Trust me.

I would rather not!

>Emiya Shirou/Archer

So I googled this, result that comes most likely is http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Shirou_Emiya

Why are you using japanese anime in a argument?

Emiya Shirou has given more meaningful monologues than Jesus Christ and got followers, like an extreme Jesus, and of course any sef-sacrificing Jesus philosophy not grounded in logic will fail.

Jesus is a highly overrated ignoramus, and anime philosophy is currently underrated except by intellectuals.
