I haven't used that particular model of Pilot, but I'm pretty partial to the Pilot G2 gel pens. Uniball is decent as well, but I have had some bad experiences with Unis that really wanted to bleed all over the page.

I've had that same problem. I'm a lefty and if the ink isn't meted out with just the right volume. The paper and the hand end up a mess.

With the Piliot HiTec, you mean or the Uniball? I've always been a fan of gel pens myself, ballpoints have a tendency to be sketchy, but a good gel seems to be more reliable overall. SMB Balance (a small business blog) ranked the Pilot G2 as the top gel pen. Course everybody has different tastes and not everyone is a gel pen fanatic like me, but for my money it's the G2 for everyday use. I used to occasionally pick up a Uniball, but it's been years since I even bothered due to occasionally ending up with an inky mess ruining my parchment.

The pilot hitec is a different pen. Uniball is advertised as part of Mitsubishi in Asia.
