Kneel before the OTTER OF POWER!

Do you have an idea you've been trying that isn't quite "normal"? Maybe even a little odd or strange or experimental? This is the thread for you. Post 'em!

Two photos are a technique I've been trying light painting class and crystal with LED and Laser light. Some of it has been kind of fun.

2/2 a crystal vase.

During this experiment I found that unlike using white light and continuously moving the light while the shutter is open, that the exact opposite is needed for the laser. If I moved the laser during an exposure the edges would have odd blurring so I had to choose one spot to point the laser each exposure. Also use a glass table if you can to avoid unwanted laser streaks.

I have a collection of original photo prints by Edward S Curtis, photographer of American West and Native Americans in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Are there any good niche places to sell them? I'm looking for something other than eBay, if possible.

The camera which you talk about must be Sony RX1 . It is really great in low light and compact compared to A7 with 35mm/F2.

You will struggle to find anything better - except Leica M-Typ 240 with 35mm F1.4 which is probably a bit better but for much more moneys and the DOF will be even smaller - which may or may be not desirable for you.

You mean "how do I mount left thing on right thing"? Choose small aperture on right thing (you will get better quality this way) and think out your own mount without light leaks.

Try multiple aperture values on right thing. You will get softer images at opened aperture.

Depending on community you communicate in you may hear this never or quite oftenly: you can use not only wide angle lens to shoot landscapes!

This week time you need to take a photo of a landscape using 35mm-equivalent focal length bigger than 51,93mm. The bigger focal length is the cooler you are. Cropping is considered as increase of equivalent focal length, stitching - as decrease of focal length.

Picrelated was done at 200mm equiv.

The longer it takes you to make a submission the more you may consider yourself an artist. But let it be limited with one month.

I have a question. I'd like to shoot videos for a youtube channel (going to teach my hobby) and I also love sky watching at night. Taking VIDEO, not pictures or time lapse, but video.

I understand that you need a camera that has sensitive low-light features for it to be able to actually see the stars in good quality. The youtube stuff will be easy, any camera can handle that. The reason im leaning towards a gopro 4 black is that it's small, compact, good battery, and it advertises some special improved low-light night time settings. Ive seen the videos of its night-lapse which is beautiful but im looking to capture video. Like a 30 seconds clip of a shooting star and/or satellite.

Can anyone begin to point me in the right direction? Thank you

Actually, seeing stars in good quality can be achieved in different way.

If the camera is on tripod it is easily possible to average the adjacent frames to reduce noise. Each doubling the number of frames to average equals one stop.

It seems really easy to me. It may even be possible that Magic Lantern has it.
