Will there be subs at all?

Kawauso don't rape baby seals. That's rakko. Completely different animal.

Unlikely. It should already be airing now but I can't find it anywhere, not even on the websites where I found Okojo to Yamane. And I could only find Okojo to Yamane with Chinese hardsubs. I'm currently working on subs but it would be nice if I could have proper raws.

By the way, while trying to find this anime I found this episode of Crayon Shin Chan with an otter in it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD8j5rzyxYQ

I know of even more anime with otters now. I forgot Fables of the Green Forest had Joe Otter and Harry Mink (another otter like creature), and the otter in Bosco Adventure.
Then I watched Katanagatari, which has animal based ninjas including an otter. One Piece has Mr. 13, but that's such a long ass series I'll probably never watch it entirely.
Furthermore I still have to watch Cute High Earth Defense Club: Happy Kiss and Onyankopon.
I also watched Free: Eternal Summer, whose character Momotaro is nicknamed the Sea Otter.

I found an episode of Doraemon about otters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqG9Zjjnr1g (video with multiple episodes).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KukM73GBb1g (same episode but Cantonese(?) dub, higher quality).
Unfortunately I have no English subs.

Great news! I finally found a streaming site with Kawauso Labo! http://search.miomio.tv/?keyword=%E3%81%82%E3%81%AB%E3%81%BE%E3%82%8B%E5%8A%87%E5%A0%B4
It starts from 18.01.24. Unfortunately some videos are corrupt or start too late. These are recordings of Animal Gekijou, which is a program with four short anime (1 minute each). Before Kawauso Labo, its slot contained Okojo to Yamane, which was made by the same creator as Kawauso Labo.

Has anybody else seen the new episode of Gegege no Kitaro? Clearly otters are better than baboons.

Technically neither, it's just an otterfied Touhou character. The next game will have an otter powerup, so there's going to be a lot more otter art once it's released.

Oh, I see. I once watched an anime called "Touhou Anime Project", which is based on those games I guess. Unfortunately I'm not as much into games as I used to. I have an old PC and my most recent consoles are a PS2, PSP and a DS Lite. Usually I play old stuff in emulators.
I wonder how many games there are with otters in them. I do know the Japanese exclusive Utsurun Desu game and I often play Daxter on my PSP.

So which types of otters do that whole raping and killing baby seals bit? I need to know which otter types are less based than others.

I wonder how and when are they going to re-release it. I personally have no desire to play anything but the original, but new players need to experience the greatness.

Reminder that Japan wiped out all their native otters, and they allow people to keep illegally trafficked otters as pets.
Japan is hostile to otters.

Otters have been spotted in Japan in recent years but only the sightings on one small island have been confirmed.

Now that Sarazanmai has finished and Kawauso Labo may also end soon, I was wondering if there are any other otter anime coming up. At least we still have Gegege no Kitaro but Kawauso doesn't appear as often in it as in the 2007 version. Oh and there is still Bonobono but strangely it hasn't been subtitled for a while.

It looks like Kawauso Labo has ended and they began to rerun Okojo to Yamane. Too bad! I hoped that there would be at least something new. I'd love to see an anime with that sea otter in it.

I think otters might be one of the rare exceptions to the 2D>3D rule. A drawing could never surpass a real otter in the flesh.
