Knife-Wielding Tennessee Man Shot to Death During Robbery ‘Prank’ for YouTube

Timothy Wilks, a 20-year-old YouTube creator, was shot on Friday night during an alleged robbery “prank” in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
Wilks and his friend brought butcher knives to the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park parking lot on Old Hickory Boulevard at approximately 9:20 p.m., allegedly intending to record themselves faking a robbery for YouTube. As they approached a group of people with their weapons, 23-year-old David Starnes Jr. allegedly drew his gun and fired, killing Wilks.
The alleged shooter has claimed he was unaware of the prank and acted in self-defense, according to a statement released by Nashville police. The homicide unit is still investigating the shooting and thus far no charges have been filed.
Urban Air customer Emily questioned the idea of such a dangerous prank, especially in such a populated area. “This is like, a huge kids area, and when we were in there, there were a ton of tiny kids and it’s just like, that would not be a great idea. Especially if anyone was walking out here, or something like that,” she told local news station WKRN.
“Pranks” like these have made headlines before. In 2020, TikTok stars Alan and Alex Strokes were charged after dressing in black, donning ski masks, and carrying duffel bags to allegedly make it look as if they had just robbed a bank while they tried to get an Uber. They face charges including one felony count of false imprisonment effected by violence, menace, fraud, or deceit and one misdemeanor count of falsely reporting an emergency.
“These were not pranks,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said at the time. “These are crimes that could have resulted in someone getting seriously injured or even killed.”

Myanmar's military government rejects US request to speak to Aung San Suu Kyi
The Myanmar military government on Tuesday disallowed US request to speak to Aung San Suu Kyi amid protests in the country over the coup which took place last Monday.
State Department spokesman Ned Price said: "We stand with the people of Burma and support their right to assemble peacefully, including to protest peacefully in support of the democratically elected government."
"We are of course very concerned about the military's recent announcement restricting public gatherings," Price added. The country's military government has imposed a banned five people gatherings and put a nighttime curfew in several areas including Yangon.
"We made an effort to reach out to Aung San Suu Kyi. We did that both informally and formally," Price said, adding, "Those requests were denied."
There have been large scale protests across the country over the military rule imposed last week which started last weekend and continued on Monday as protesters called for a return to democracy.
Meanwhile, the UN Human Rights Council said it will hold a special session to discuss the Myanmar crisis even as several world leaders expressed their displeasure with the military rule.
The Myanmar military hasn't revealed the whereabouts of detained civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi and has detained several other leaders from her National League for Democracy(NLD) party.
Amid the large scale criticism, Myanmar's army chief General Min Aung Hlaing said that the democratic leaders were removed after "voter fraud" while stating that power will be handed back after elections.
The military has imposed one year state of emergency in the country and imposed martial law in some parts of Mandalay, Yangon and other towns amid protests in the country.

But I have been given the opportunity to do several films with people who love and understand horses. Magnificent animals they are. And I have met people who have worked with the intelligence of horses and they all agree that Jim Key could very well be completely true. I love animals as many of the viewers of this video to and deeply admire the unique Bill Key for all the things he did to make Americans aware of animals and especially horses as sentient beings. The movie I describe is not yet a reality but I hope someday it will be. Investment money is what is needed and is, as most of you know, very hard to get.

Viral vector vaccines use a modified version of a different virus as a vector to deliver instructions, in the form of genetic material (a gene), to a cell. The vaccine does not cause infection with either COVID-19 or the virus that is used as the vector.
The genetic material delivered by the viral vector does not enter the cell nucleus and does not integrate into a person’s DNA.
A Vehicle for Vaccine Delivery
Many vaccines use a weakened or inactivated form of the target pathogen to trigger an immune response. Viral vector vaccines use a different virus as a vector instead, which delivers important instructions (in the form of a gene) to our cells. For COVID-19 vaccines, a modified virus delivers a gene that instructs our cells to make a SARS-CoV-2 antigen called the spike protein. A Closer Look at How COVID-19 Viral Vector Vaccines Work
In the development of viral vector vaccines, several different viruses have been used as vectors, including influenza, vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), measles virus, and adenovirus, which causes the common cold. Adenovirus is one of the viral vectors used in some late-stage COVID-19 vaccine trials.
In viral vector vaccines, a gene unique to the virus being targeted is added to the viral vector. For COVID-19 vaccines, this gene codes for the spike protein, which is only found on the surface of SARS-CoV-2. The viral vector is used to shuttle this gene into a human cell. Once inside a cell, the viral vector uses this gene and the cell’s machinery to produce the spike protein and display it on the cell’s surface.
Once displayed on the cell’s surface, the protein (or antigen) causes the immune system to begin producing antibodies and activating T-cells to fight off what it thinks is an infection. These antibodies are specific to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which means the immune system is primed to protect against future infection.

Because humans develop immune responses when exposed to viruses, our bodies can potentially have pre-existing immunity to vector viruses. Since adenoviral vectors are based on natural viruses that some of us might already have been exposed to, the vaccines might not work for everyone. To overcome this challenge, scientists have used uncommon viruses or viruses only found in other species (such as chimpanzees) as viral vectors.
Adenoviruses are often used for viral vector vaccines because they can induce a robust immune response. The adenovirus genome has been well studied by scientists. Adenovirus vector vaccines are easy to design and produce on a mass scale, making them well suited for pandemic response. VSV has been used effectively as a vector for Ebola vaccines, and numerous other viral vectors have shown promise in early clinical trials.

Gene therapy put on hold as third child develops cancer
Small but important: researchers hope that changes to a gene vector will reduce risks to patients.
Scientists have halted clinical trials of gene therapy to treat a rare immune disorder — less than a year after the trials were relaunched following an earlier stoppage.
The trials use gene therapy to treat different forms of severe combined immunodeficiency disease (SCID). The first trial to be stopped was halted in October 2002, and other trials were halted three months later, after two children in the trials developed cancer. But authorities allowed them to resume during the past year because the treatment had cured many children who lack reliable alternative treatments.
Researchers have now halted the trials again, after a third patient was found to have developed cancer. The suspension is a significant setback for the nascent field of gene therapy, because SCID treatment has been its most promising application to date.
The child with cancer was a patient of Alain Fischer of the Necker Hospital in Paris. He has been using gene therapy to treat the X-linked form of SCID, which is otherwise only treatable with bone-marrow transplant and is still often fatal. Fischer's trial restarted last May, and his team has treated one child since then.
But on 24 January, the French medical regulatory authority AFSSPS announced that a child who was treated by Fischer in April 2002 now has cancer.
As a result, Fischer's trial and similar ones in the United States have been halted again. The agency also said that one of the original two patients who had been diagnosed with cancer — both of whom were in Fischer's trial — died last October.
Fischer is now investigating why the third child, who was treated at a later age than the previous two children, developed cancer. The child's cells did not seem to have the same genetic glitch that caused the first two cancers, he says, but he cautions that the analysis is still under way.
Fischer adds that he still believes in gene therapy as a treatment for X-linked SCID, because 15 children treated in this way are still alive, and 14 are doing well four years later. But his group will not treat any more children using its current gene-therapy system, he says. He adds that he plans to change a key step in the treatment by changing the vector — the modified virus that delivers the therapeutic gene to the patients.
“The efficacy is there, but we have to improve on the safety,” Fischer says, adding that this is “not an uncommon situation” in medical research.

Kamala Harris made a joke of killing the president of the United States, the vice president of the United States, and the attorney general of the United States. She laughed. She thought it was funny. Ellen DeGeneres also laughed, as did the audience. Kamala’s joke normalized and trivialized political violence. But Donald Trump, who told his supporters to march peacefully to the Capitol, was impeached for “inciting violence.”
Last summer, Kamala Harris also even gleefully predicted that the BLM protests, during which rioting, looting, and murder occurred, wouldn’t end. In fact, she told Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show, that they shouldn’t end. “They’re not going to stop. They’re not going to stop,” she told him. “This is a movement, I’m telling you. They’re not gonna stop. And everyone beware because they’re not gonna stop. They’re not gonna stop before Election Day and they’re not going to stop after Election Day. And everyone should take note of that. They’re not gonna let up and they should not.”

Scientific research has produced substantial social benefits. It has also posed some troubling ethical questions. Public attention was drawn to these questions by reported abuses of human subjects in biomedical experiments, especially during the Second World War. During the Nuremberg War Crime Trials, the Nuremberg code was drafted as a set of standards for judging physicians and scientists who had conducted biomedical experiments on concentration camp prisoners. This code became the prototype of many later codes[1] intended to assure that research involving human subjects would be carried out in an ethical manner.
The codes consist of rules, some general, others specific, that guide the investigators or the reviewers of research in their work. Such rules often are inadequate to cover complex situations; at times they come into conflict, and they are frequently difficult to interpret or apply. Broader ethical principles will provide a basis on which specific rules may be formulated, criticized and interpreted.
Three principles, or general prescriptive judgments, that are relevant to research involving human subjects are identified in this statement. Other principles may also be relevant. These three are comprehensive, however, and are stated at a level of generalization that should assist scientists, subjects, reviewers and interested citizens to understand the ethical issues inherent in research involving human subjects. These principles cannot always be applied so as to resolve beyond dispute particular ethical problems. The objective is to provide an analytical framework that will guide the resolution of ethical problems arising from research involving human subjects.

Suspicious Vehicle Seen Escorting Late Night Biden Ballot Van at TCF Center on Election Night
On Wednesday morning, November 4th President Trump was ahead of Joe Biden in the swing state of Michigan by over 100,000 votes.
Today we have more video proof of the Biden ballot dump.
Detroit city official Chris Thomas signed an affidavit admitting to one late-night ballot dump at the TCF Center. Thomas said 41 boxes of ballots were delivered.
'This was a lie. The Gateway Pundit has video proof that the van made two ballot drops at the TCF Center. We also have proof that over 60 boxes of ballots were unloaded at the arena in just the first ballot dump. '
And we also have a video that the white van was escorted by a suspicious vehicle.
A black Hyundai Elantra also drove into the TCF Center in the early morning on November 4th.
The Gateway Pundit was able to identify the vehicle. It was registered in Pennsylvania and then registered in Michigan in October. The car had a new title but they kept the old Pennsylvania plates on the car. We believe the vehicle is registered to Enterprise rent-a-car.
We now know that the source for the mainstream media reports, Chris Thomas, has not been truthful at all in his legal affidavits.
We also know the local officials and their far-left media lackeys keep changing their story — while our reports have remained consistent and correct.
And we also know these ballots came into the center without the proper chain of custody documentation.
These ballots should have been disqualified.

Lilly says CFO resigns after investigation into inappropriate relationship
Eli Lilly and Co said on Tuesday Chief Financial Officer Josh Smiley had resigned after allegations about a personal relationship sparked an investigation that found “inappropriate personal communication” with some Lilly employees. The drugmaker said it immediately hired external counsel to conduct an independent probe after it was made aware of the allegations. The investigation revealed consensual though inappropriate personal communications between Smiley and certain Lilly employees.
Lilly said the behavior exhibited poor judgment by Smiley. The company would not give further details on the communications or the number of employees involved.
Reuters could not immediately reach Smiley for comment. A LinkedIn search showed Smiley’s account, which he managed himself, was no longer available.
Eli Lilly had taken “swift and significant action” as soon as it learned about the allegations, a company spokeswoman told Reuters.
Smiley has been with the company since 1995 and became CFO in 2018. He will be replaced by Anat Ashkenazi, who joined the company in 2001 and was most recently senior vice president, controller and chief financial officer of Lilly Research Laboratories, Lilly said.
The company said Smiley’s conduct was not related to financial controls, financial statements or any other business matters or judgments, and he will be available to assist in the transition of his role through July at reduced cash compensation of $9,000 every two weeks.
