South Africa suspends plans to roll out Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine

The vaccine shielded people against the primary strain, but not the variant, the health minister said.

South Africa on Sunday announced it would suspend its plans to roll out the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine because the vaccine in a clinical trial failed to effectively shield people from mild to moderate sickness caused by a variant of the illness.

"The AstraZeneca vaccine appeared effective against the original strain, but not against the variant," health minister Zweli Mkhize said, according to the Associated Press. "We have decided to put a temporary hold on the rollout of the vaccine … more work needs to be done," he said.

Preliminary data from a study of 2,000 individuals who were predominantly young and healthy indicated that the vaccine supplied "minimal protection against mild-moderate disease" resulting from the virus variant, the outlet noted.

Twenty arrested as Haiti's president alleges plot to kill him and overthrow government

Haitian President Jovenel Moise announced Sunday that authorities apprehended more than 20 people, including at least two high-profile government officials, who he accused of plotting to kill him and overthrow his government.

Moise told reporters the alleged plot began on Nov. 20. “There was an attempt on my life,” he said.

A police inspector and Supreme Court Judge, Yvickel Dabrézil, are among the nearly two-dozen people behind bars. The arrest of Dabrezil, one of the front-runners for a potential presidential run to unseat Moise, has drawn widespread condemnation from members of the government's opposition, including André Michel, who called for Moise's apprehension.

Reynold Georges, another top opposition leader who used to serve in the president's administration, cautioned the public that the court system could shut down if Dabrezil remains in custody.

“We ask for his release immediately,” he said.

The string of arrests follows demands from those who do not support the administration that Moise's five-year term ends on Sunday. The president, however, insists that he is permitted to remain in office through February 2022 since he was sworn in a year after the election.

President Biden's State Department supports the current regime and expects a transfer of power come 2022 through fair elections, a spokesperson told the Associated Press.

NY pols to pass Trump-inspired bill to prosecute presidents for crimes

With former President Trump’s impeachment trial beginning this week, New York lawmakers intend to pass the “No Citizen is Above the Law” legislation aimed at making it harder for Trump or any future president to avoid state prosecution if accused of criminal wrongdoing.

The bill introduced by Sen. Michael Gianaris (D-Queens) and Assemblyman Nick Perry (D-Brooklyn) will “toll” the statute of limitations in order to bring a case — meaning freezing or stopping the clock on the limitations period for the years a president is in office. It’s four years in Trump’s case.

A sitting president is immune from arrest or prosecution while in office, according to a pair of Justice Department memos — one from 1973 and another from 2000 — which interpret the US Constitution. But the US Supreme Court has never made a determination on the issue.

Gianaris and Perry say a president shouldn’t use the time they serve in office to avoid prosecution by having the statute of limitations expire.

“Any President who breaks the law should be held accountable without regard to the time they spend in office. As our nation prepares for an unprecedented second impeachment trial, we must close the loophole that allows Presidents to escape culpability by exploiting statutes of limitations due to Presidential immunity,” Gianaris said.

Both state Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. are investigating Trump’s business dealings.

The bill will pass the state Senate this week and is on the calendar to be voted on in the Assembly at any time. The lawmakers first introduced the measure last September, when the legislature wasn’t in session.

Trump legal adviser Alan Dershowitz said the proposed state law is probably legal, as long as legislators don’t extend the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution, typically five years.

But Republican lawmakers accused Gianaris and Perry of political grandstanding.

“This is just a pointless political headline-grab that’s out of their jurisdiction and ignores more pressing concerns happening right in front of their faces,” said Assemblyman Will Barclay (R-Syracuse).

“It’s unfortunate they’ve spent far less energy reining-in executive powers or issuing a subpoena to the sitting governor,” added Barclay, referring to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s handling of the coronavirus, including the nursing home death reporting scandal.

Opposition leaders and rights groups say Haitian President Jovenel Moise’s mandate expires on Sunday.

Haitian government authorities have said they foiled an attempt to overthrow President Jovenel Moise, who is facing mounting anger from opposition leaders and the Haitian public over when his mandate ends.

Justice Minister Rockefeller Vincent said an “attempted coup d’etat” took place on Sunday, while authorities said 23 people had been arrested, including a Supreme Court judge and senior police official.

“I thank my head of security at the palace. The goal of these people was to make an attempt on my life,” said Moise, who was expected to address the nation on Sunday afternoon. “That plan was aborted.”

Earlier in the day, Moise had brushed off criticism from the opposition and human rights groups who say his presidency expires on Sunday.

Moise, who has been governing without any checks on his power for the past year, has insisted his term ends on February 7, 2022 – an interpretation of the country’s constitution that has been rejected by the opposition.

Meanwhile, top legal experts denounced the detention of the Supreme Court judge. Wilner Morin, president of the National Association of Haitian Magistrates, told local media outlet Ayibopost that it was an “illegal arrest”.

Al Jazeera’s Manuel Rapalo, reporting from Mexico City, said things appear likely to remain tense in Haiti as opposition leaders are asking for the detainees to be freed, including the Supreme Court judge.

“And there are calls for more protests against the president and the opposition has vowed to continue to pressure the government of Jovenel Moise,” Rapalo said.

TCF Center Election Fraud – Newly Discovered Video

Shows Late Night Deliveries of Tens of Thousands of Illegal Ballots 8 Hours After Deadline

On Tuesday, November 3rd President Trump was ahead of Joe Biden in the swing state of Michigan by over 100,000 votes. This appeared to be another solid win for President Trump in Michigan with a greater margin than his 2016 victory. The ballot counting in Detroit, Michigan on election night took place at the TCF Center, formerly known as Cobo Hall.

This is the site where Detroit City Officials put cardboard over the windows to prevent the GOP observers from seeing in, where poll workers were militantly hostile to the GOP observers, and where hundreds of affidavits by election observers claim they witnessed voter fraud.

At least three election observers testified in sworn affidavits that they witnessed vehicles delivering fraudulent ballots to the TCF Center early in the morning on November 4th.

After these ballot drops Joe Biden took the lead in Michigan.

Shane Trejo explained how the timing was important. The Biden Ballot Drop took place at the end of one shift. The ballots were left uncounted. So when the new shift came to count ballots they didn’t know where the ballots had come from.

Trejo repeatedly asked about this truck to site supervisors and was STONEWALLED.

Former Michigan State Senator Pat Colbeck was also present at the TCF Center on the morning of November 4th. Senator Colbeck also witnessed the 3:30 am Biden Ballot Drop. Colbeck spoke with The Gateway Pundit back in November, “I went back there and I witnessed a mini-panel truck if you will with a Detroit Election Bureau regalia all over the side and a vehicle ID number on it… And inside of it, and this gets into some chain of custody discussions, there was no indication that there was a Republican and a Democrat (present) during transfer. We don’t know if they stopped by a sidestreet in Coney Island and picked up a few more ballots during transfer. We have no way of verifying any of that information.”

Since last week we have been combing through the hundreds of hours of security camera footage from the TCF Center on the morning of November 4th.

And what we found is a political bombshell.

TIMELINE:

** At 3:23 AM The Gateway Pundit has exclusive video of a white van registered to the city of Detroit entering the gate into the TCF Center.

** At 3:25 AM we discovered video from a second camera showing three individuals unloading over 50 boxes of ballots in a hallway inside the TCF Building and just outside the counting room.

** The ballots were then wheeled away on carts into the ballot counting room.

** The van is then seen on video leaving the center about 25 minutes later.

** Then we saw the van returning an hour later, entering the TCF Center again and unloading more boxes of ballots.

** The white van was escorted by a black sports car for both ballot deliveries.

** The white van was allowed through an electronic gate to enter the TCF complex.

This is video proof of the fraud in Detroit, Michigan.It is exactly as the GOP observers described it to us back in November!

2 local restaurants closed after years of accolades and successes. Owned by fine people more interested in serving good food in a friendly atmosphere than with making money. Where is the fairness?

Then at church services today, I met several people who had traveled from out of town and out of state to speak with me and to pray with me and for me.

God works through His children. The visitors and their prayers lifted me up. Pastor Stuart’s message was right on point. The combination reinvigorated my fight back spirit. They reminded me that God is in control and His will shall be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

God spoke to me this morning through a number of His children. God lifted me up as He promises in His Word. I thank those good people and I give the credit and praise to God.

God will lift you up too when the world gets you down. Trust Him. He will never let you down.

So stay strong in your faith. The lies of this world will be revealed, the liars will be defeated, and the persecution will end. Wait on the Lord.

It was hard to respond to the accusations of Reid’s lawyers against me. Talk about fake!

Here is one. They claim the City of Detroit filed a motion to have me sanctioned and disbarred! What? I have never been served with any such motion. And it would be impossible for the Michigan court to sanction me since I did not seek pro hac vice privileges in the Michigan lawsuit. I was not counsel of record and played no role in the drafting and filing of that complaint which concerned the election fraud which clearly occurred in Michigan in the November 2020 election.

I am informed that a motion was in fact filed by the City of Detroit against some lawyers (but not against me as a respondent). Detroit intervened in the case for the sole purpose of filing the sanctions motion. Crazy. An entity not a party intervenes to assert a sanctions motion in a case not even filed against it? Is Detroit corrupt or what?!?

Reid claims that the motion states that “Sidney Powell and I have blood on our hands.” What?

Errant nonsense.

But it sure does make for a great headline to be published as propaganda to smear Sidney and me in the fake propaganda media.

Elon Musk says Neuralink could start implanting chips in human brains ‘later this year

A goal of Neuralink, Elon Musk has previously said, is to help paralyzed patients easily interact with their cellphones or computers by implanting the brain chip.

Elon Musk says that his neurotechnology company Neuralink could be launching human trials “later this year.”

Musk shared the news in response to a Twitter user who said he’d be willing to participate in the human trials, which would implant an artificial intelligence chip in humans’ brains in hopes they could control technology just by thinking.

“I was in a car accident 20 years ago and have been paralyzed from the shoulders ever since. I’m always available for clinical studies at @Neuralink,” Twitter user Hamoon Kamai wrote to Musk on Sunday.

“Neuralink is working super hard to ensure implant safety & is in close communication with the FDA. If things go well, we might be able to do initial human trials later this year,” the Tesla CEO replied on Monday.

Neuralink’s goal is also to help paralyzed patients easily interact with their cellphones or computers by implanting the brain chip, Musk previously said.

The company began testing its chip on animals over the summer and used a pig for its experiment.

Musk recently went on the audio-streaming app Clubhouse, where he said Neuralink has implanted the brain chip in a monkey and that it can play video games with its mind.

“We’ve already got a monkey with a wireless implant in their skull, and the tiny wires, who can play video games using his mind,” the billionaire tech entrepreneur said.

“One of the things we’re trying to figure out is, can we have the monkeys play mind-Pong with each other?” Musk added. “That would be pretty cool.”

Next week, I’m starting at Facebook, where I’ll be helping to lead global threat intelligence strategy against influence operations.

I’m very excited to join one of the best IO teams in the world to study, catch and get ahead of the known players and emerging threats.

As a community - platforms, researchers and journalists - we’ve all come a long way since the dawn of this field of research.

Collectively, we’ve got better at detecting IO early, especially when they target major events like elections.

Secondary Infektion started with a Facebook takedown; it ended up being exposed for attempted interference in the 2019 UK election.

There were attempts at foreign interference in the US election in 2020, too, but they were caught early and exposed fast.

But to keep it that way, we need to keep getting better, because we know IO actors will evolve.

Just look at how many are using AI-generated profile pics, thinking it’ll help them hide.

Or using cutouts and co-opting authentic voices to amplify their ops.

(On the AI point, one of the ground-breaking moments we had at Graphika was investigating our first op that used large-scale generation of AI profile pics, in late 2019.

Naming it was fun, too.)

So the next challenge is: how do we all keep ahead, and make the environment less and less hospitable for influence operations?

There are great teams out there working on this. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved with the

They remain crucial voices.

But the people who can make the most difference in tackling IO are the platforms themselves, including by driving collaboration with researchers and journalists.

Facebook Censorship, Mad Ben Nimmo and the Atlantic Council

Facebook has deleted all of my posts from July 2017 to last week because I am, apparently, a Russian Bot. For a while I could not add any new posts either, but we recently found a way around that, at least for now. To those of you tempted to say “So what?”, I would point out that over two thirds of visitors to my website arrive via my posting of the articles to Facebook and Twitter. Social media outlets like this blog, which offer an alternative to MSM propaganda, are hugely at the mercy of these corporate gatekeepers.

Facebook’s plunge into censorship is completely open and admitted, as is the fact it is operated for Facebook by the Atlantic Council – the extreme neo-con group part funded by NATO and whose board includes serial war criminal Henry Kissinger, Former CIA Heads Michael Hayden and Michael Morrell, and George Bush’s chief of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, among a whole list of horrors.

The staff are worse than the Board. Their lead expert on Russian bot detection is an obsessed nutter named Ben Nimmo, whose fragile grip on reality has been completely broken by his elevation to be the internet’s Witchfinder-General. Nimmo, grandly titled “Senior Fellow for Information Defense at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab”, is the go-to man for Establishment rubbishing of citizen journalists, and as with Joseph McCarthy or Matthew Clarke, one day society will sufficiently recover its balance for it to be generally acknowledged that this kind of witch-hunt nonsense was not just an aberration, but a manifestation of the evil it claimed to fight.

There is no Establishment cause Nimmo will not aid by labeling its opponents as Bots. This from the Herald newspaper two days ago, where Nimmo uncovers the secret web of Scottish Nationalist bots that dominate the internet, and had the temerity to question the stitch-up of Alex Salmond.

Nimmo’s proof? 2,000 people had used the hashtag #Dissolvetheunion on a total of 10,000 tweets in a week. That’s five tweets per person on average. In a week. Obviously a massive bot-plot, eh?

When Ben’s great expose for the Herald was met with widespread ridicule, he doubled down on it by producing his evidence – a list of the top ten bots he had uncovered in this research. Except that they are almost all, to my certain knowledge, not bots but people. But do not decry Ben’s fantastic forensic skills, for which NATO and the CIA fund the Atlantic Council. Ben’s number one suspect was definitely a bot. He had got the evil kingpin. He had seen through its identity despite its cunning disguise. That disguise included its name, IsthisAB0T, and its profile, where it called itself a bot for retweets on Independence. Thank goodness for Ben Nimmo, or nobody would ever have seen through that evil, presumably Kremlin-hatched, plan.

No wonder the Atlantic Council advertise Nimmo and his team as “Digital Sherlocks”

Nimmo’s track record is simply appalling. In this report for the Atlantic Council website, he falsely identified British pensioner @Ian56789 as a “Russian troll farm”, which led to Ian being named as such by the British government, and to perhaps the most surreal Sky News interview of all time. Perhaps still more remarkably, Nimmo searches for use of the phrase “cui bono?” in reference to the Skripal and fake Douma chemical weapons attacks. Nimmo characterises use of the phrase cui bono as evidence of pro-Assad and pro-Kremlin bots and trolls – he really does. Most people would think to consider cui bono indicates a smattering more commonsense than Nimmo himself displays.

It is at least obvious cui bono from Nimmo’s witchfinding – the capacious, NATO and CIA stuffed pockets of Ben Nimmo himself. That Facebook allows this utterly discredited neo-conservative charlatan the run of its censorship operations needs, given Facebook’s pivotal role in social media intercourse, to concern everybody. The freedom of the internet is under fundamental attack.
