Diamond Is Unbreakable (ダイヤモンドは砕けない Daiyamondo wa Kudakenai?) is the fourth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump between 1992 and 1995. Originally titled JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Jōsuke Higashikata (ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 第4部 東方仗助 JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken Dai Yon Bu: Higashikata Jōsuke), the arc spans 174 chapters and is preceded by Stardust Crusaders.
In 1999, the Arrow, manifesting latent Stand abilities, travels throughout Morioh, Japan; as high schooler Josuke Higashikata (illegitimate son of Joseph) and his friends seek out the culprits of a series of homicides.

Even though it's dumb if you think about it logically that they don't train their powers it kinda makes sense for their characters. Joseph only went to Italy and trained the ripple to protect his grandma and after Kars was taken care of then he didn't have a point to continue training. Jotaro only used his powers to save his mom and isn't the type of person to abuse his powers for personal gain so not training his time stop makes sense for him.
Most people (definetly me) would try to abuse their powers and keep training them but I guess the Jojo family is too good in their hearts to even consider that.

Dio isn't dead btw. I realized that he is simply too badass to stay dead and will be coming back later.
Dio was actually revived during the blood transfusion and has been living as Joseph for the past 10 years. The reason he sent for Josuke is so Dio can steal his body and become young again(and possible have the younger jojo's retrieve the magic bow and arrow for him). He knows he can't defeat Jotaro in his current state so he is laying low and waiting for an opportunity to takeover Josuke's body.
Now you may ask how did Dio know the answers to all those questions that Jotaro asked him when they were in the van but the answer is right here. In example 1 we see hermit purple in it's complete form coming out of his entire body. Usually the purple hermit is only in one hand but here it is different, the reason being is because Dio's purple hermit and Joseph's purple hermit have combined to become complete. With the power of the complete purple hermit he is able to gain knowledge of anything without needing a conduit to pass it through. Since it's Joseph's body Dio has assess to his brain and all his memories so pretending to be him would be easy and could even fool the people close to him.
Another clear tell that Joseph isn't himself anymore is because of the affair, Joestar's are faithful to their spouses and would never cheat on them so the only way for the affair between Joeseph and Josuke's mom to make any sense would be if someone else had control over Joseph's body. Also as we know everyone falls in love with Dio so it makes even more sense for a 20 year old to fall in love with a 60 year old.

This was my biggest problem when I watched part 4 initially. I've come to appreciate it more and more since, but originally I was like "Get to the point already! Oh good finally a main villai- nope he's dead."
That's why I wanted to prepare all of you back in part 1 by saying this shit changes often and drastically. Going into part 4 hot off of part 3 sets up the expectation of more of the same when it's the fucking opposite in almost every way. This jarred me more than the switch from hamon to stands.

I think it's because he planned to end it at part 3, but it was too hot to let go of. From there the microscopic veneer of an overarching plot disappeared and he had to think 100% on his feet week to week. It creates this interesting mix of tons of interesting characters and situations moment to moment with little to no development or anything later on.
That's probably why I was so critical of part 4 when I first saw it. I don't really care about plot holes since the narrative is more important than the contrivances that drive it, but I do care about narrative holes like this shit.

When I was a kid I went to tracking camp a few summers. Bakctracking is actually pretty hard to pull off, especially on soft ground. You have to keep most of your weight on the front of your feet while you go backwards, which is almost impossible to do unless you go really slow, and even harder if you were going fast to make the initial tracks (because they'll be farther apart).

People are defined by their life experiences in part. It isn't unbelievable to me that someone could turn over a new leaf. However the "team" aspect of this part is indeed forced since none of the side characters really get enough time to leave an impression. They get their 15 minutes and become relegated to the backround to do fuckall. Perhaps it's a "you had to be there" thing, as in maybe getting it week to week during syndication made you feel a connection for the characters and setting. I never felt that, but some swear by Part 4 as the best and do say they felt connected to it. IDK

I don't think he was ever under any spell. The initial treatments just gave Yukako the Felix Felicis effect and the ultimate treatment maxed her charisma stats. In the end it Aya's work didn't really effect Koichi's heart though.
