I've enjoyed what I've seen of the first 6 eps. There are a lot of tiny little things throughout the show so far that I'm digging.
One was how upon the initial invasion, the defense force actually manages to do something.
One of the robots was defeated by tanks/aircraft off scene.
The reaction by the UN forces for the landing that happened right next to their base was also nice.I felt they did a good job setting the power differential between the two sides in such a way that you know that one is stronger and has better tech but that with effort and combined firepower killing one is still within the realm of possibility. So the aliens aren't unkillable as in completely immune but can definitely take more hits and are a big threat.
The characters so far are manageable. MC is fine and Yukina didn't turn out to be a cardboard cutout.
Kuromukuro has managed to find some sort of balance but not sure if its going to hold up.
The show isn't amazing but it is not outright bad SO far.
I'm still iffy on how the rest of the show plans to pan out,so I'm still withholding judgment on the show being good or not. not that big a fan of the cgi mechs either but it's not that big a deal in the end either.

But on subject, yeah, I'm liking Kuromukuro. Decent pacing so far, and humor. I'm finding the current arc hilarious since Yukina doesn't want to get into the robot, but the catch is nobody wants her to get in it either yet she's still upset about it.
