What are some artists you look up to?
Do you just like their art or the subject as well?
Starting out with Arata Yokoyama.
He mostly does these rough painting looking art, though sometimes he spends time refining them more to create cleaner paintings.
90% of what he paints is casual cute girls doing casual cute girl things, which is something I aspire to paint, so there's that.
There are better artist I like like Dalí and Beksiński, but they're pretty well known here, so I'm going to stick to more unknown ones to show people new artists. Feel free to post well known artists though.

If it's a figure, the drawing style has to be prioritize to the perfection of the character design. I'm a huge weeb anon. I also like drawing that is balance between realism and its common style.

Exquisite anime grills
>Dali
>Beksinski
Edgelord meme artists in my imho opinion. They are good in their own way but bringing them up here in this context sounds like damage control to me. Post your anime tiddies with pride for heavens' sake

This guy's great; very versatile. I'm really impressed. He has surprisingly few followers, but I suppose that's common for working artists that don't post much.
>he works for Wayforward
That's interesting; I thought they've been outsourcing their art to INTI Creates or whatever. I guess I have him to thank in part for my genie and zombie fetish.

Why? They're pretty good. I like the way they do these grandiose alien landscapes with an unnerving desolate feeling to them.
Though I am a huge faggot for surrealism, so I might be biased.

I do post anime titties with pride, but I put that in just in case some gay faggot tried to derail the thread with muh weebs shitpost.
This place has gone to shit recently. I miss the times when people were scared of 8ch because of cartoon death cults and that one guy who asked 8ch to "doxx" him got pizza and phone calls straight to his parents' house for 3 weeks straight.

honestly? i fucking enjoy cassetterecorder's art style so fucking much. i'm not a furry and this stuff leaving an impression on me is something. and even when it's not furry but the rendering is there, you notice it's just a hard round brush used all over there. that kind of simplicity i like

come on.
Beksiński's digital works were actually kind of meme tier since he just couldn't translate his skill on the medium though

I search up 'artist' on sad panda and look for galleries that have nice art whether it be nsfw or sfw and save the pictures into one big folder.

Some artists I really appreciate are Kinu Nishimura, the artist duo Gurihiru, Shigenori Soejima, Tite Kubo, and Bengus. Universal things I like about them is how they can make their characters look cool, cute, and sexy all at once, which is a balance I would love to achieve in my own art.

I don't take art as seriously, since it's just something I find useful to learn, as opposed to something I'm truly passionate about like music.
I understand what you're saying though, I feel the same about some guitar players, I have a love/hate relationship with Yngwie because of it,. At the same time, I both really like his music and get inspired by it and really fucking hate the smug Swedish cunt and his impossible fucking riffs. Still, it motivates me, it's like burning pure fury as fuel to get motivated and just practice with the hopes that some day I'll be smugger than the english lord-sounding cunt.

For Western artists, I really like J. Scott Campbell and Joe Madureira. I tried to avoid copying anyone's style too obviously, because I wanted to try to develop something that looked unique. I especially made a point to try to avoid adopting the no-nose and giant eyes of anime, even though I like anime. Looking back on it all, maybe I should have just traced Madureira and Reinaldo Quintaro and called that >Muh Style.

One thing I like about Reiq's work is that it's very "approachable". It's not so intimidating from either a draftsmanship standpoint or rendering/color and kind of gives off a "Hey, maybe I could do that someday!" kind of feeling

Not really a direct inspiration, but this guy (or girl) really fascinates me, his drawings seem to follow a really confusing sequential narrative and for the past 3-4 years he's been drawing only minimalist surreal forms. Pic related are drawings when he got popular.

Fa/tg/uys are sure to know him.
He mostly does Warhams40k and some OC.
Dude was active in devart back in 2010s before he bulk erased his galleries.
I really like the way he does colors and texture. His linearts are likewise over the top.

Probably the greatest talent to ever exist. To be able to draw without reference and just start in a corner and fill an entire mural from memory and without perspective grids or any kind of layout and get the proportions and perspective perfect and at this level of detail is a one in a trillion talent.

He's said before he doesn't have a photographic memory, and sort of wings it with these as in he's making decisions re perspective and proportions as he goes along taking into account his previous marks on the mural, not like he has the entire thing in his head already. Not to deny his talents at all, he's amazing. Definitely better than that actual savant from USA in terms of doing aesthetic work too.
His backstory is quite funny. He's drawn pretty much 24/7 his whole life apart from his military service where he was constantly observing machinery and guns and thinking about drawing them. He's the unacademic "lazy artist" of his family but still has to be the best at what he does in the world. Fucking east asians and their superpowers, lel.
