What happened is that we got kidnapped by dark elves and eventually managed to break out! Ronorim's respect for authority manifested as him failing at being respectful to a dark elf priestess a couple of times (low cha), and his only barely acceptable dex manifested as him falling onto a giant spiderweb while carrying a barrel of spider food. He did get rescued, though.

I think lots of people tend to view multiclassing as the player wanting to be the best at everything, or at least be as good in one thing as a normal class but then also have some extra stuff from other classes (be as good at fighting as a fighter but also have some cleric buff spells and some thieving and ranger abilities, say).
But when you think about it, just take a paladin - that one already is like a multiclass, it's a holy man and a warrior, → fighter + cleric. But I don't think people think of paladins as OP.
I just wanted to have a cheeky athletic kind of character who would be okay at fighting regular humanoids (but not really anything else) and had a few buff spells and a few roguish skills.
But then the DM threw mostly undead and some beasts at us and all my fighting amounted to was tumbling around enemies (thanks to that, I at least managed to get the main fighter a flanking bonus, woo) and occasionally stabbing them for 1d6+1 damage.

But there was some weird falling out with one of the players (game-unrelated thing) and he and one other left, after which we never continued.

I've played Bang once.
I mostly go for ones that are either very competitive or focus very heavily on talking with people. Avalon, and other social deduction games like it, is mostly about this.
In Avalon there are a few secret bad guys. Each turn a player picks a few people to go on a mission. Everyone votes on the selection. If the vote passes then they go on a mission and secretly vote pass or fail. If a failure occurs then you know someone evil was secretly on the team.
Good guys win by getting three successes. Bad guys win with three failures.
There's also some asymmetry. Good guys don't know who each other are, but the bad guys do. The exception is Merlin and Percival. Merlin knows who all the bad guys are. Percival knows who merlin is, but also Morgana. He does not know which is which, so Morgana will generally try to trick the percival.
The thing is that if the good guys win, the bad guys still win if they kill Merlin. So he can't be too obvious.
It is a ton of fun. Secret Hitler is similar, but with the opportunity for some state sponsored racism.

At the end of the game all the evil players reveal themselves and discuss who they think merlin is. One player is the assassin which means they get the final say, but otherwise it's just a matter of picking the guy.

Well Old English at least has some rules. Most of them are pretty easy, you just pronounce letters in particular ways… there's just some additional rules which complicate it somewhat (one rule is particularly awful, there's 4 different ways of pronouncing <g>… as [g], [j], [x] and the voiced version of [x] which I am too lazy to look up and copy-paste). Those would make it hard to speak fluently, but we are not asked to be able to do that and there is enough time at the exam.

Heh, no worries. Google drive is actually used for over the phone interviews fairly often, but most people just use coderpad.
Interview is on the 22nd, but I've been in the process since like late October/early November. I did a phone interview in Nov and the onsite is coming up.
I'm honestly surprised how easy it's set to be. The onsite is merely going to be 5 hours long, and the phone screens were only another 2 hours.
At most places you do a phone screen or two, a take home coding challenge, and then an onsite that's usually closer to 8 hours. My current job needed around 15 hours total of interviewing, and it's only so short because I aced the coding challenge in just 2 hours.
Should be fun though. I didn't even apply for a Google job, I'm getting poached by a headhunter. They must really want me.

An hour for lunch and time in-between means that you have 4 interviews with 4 different people that are around 45 minutes long. A few minutes to talk about why you want to work there, ask questions, do culture fit, etc. means you get 35-40 minutes max to do hard technical questions.
One place I worked at had a 9 hour long interview (after doing phone screens and what not). First 3 hours is a project. You're allowed to use reference manuals and the internet to solve a specified problem. The want to see how you really think. Then lunch for one hour with some of our designers. After that you get 5 more interviews, one with each engineer, who ask specific questions. The Frontend engineer covers UI stuff, the backend guy is more on the side of technical logic, etc. It ended with us all going to the nearby bar to drink together (I loved when we had interviewees because I had to do none of the actual interviewing but always got free lunch + beer). You're still being interviewed during the drink though, but on social stuff. Are you a drunkard that immediately chugs a vodka and starts talking about Israel? Or are you a cool laid back guy? Culture fit is important because we don't want to hire someone everyone is going to immediately hate.
That's what a normal interview is like. Some places do it differently but 7 or 8 hours is pretty common. And things change per position. You can bet your ass the machine learning guy isn't getting any UI questions, but he did get a set of calculus problems he had to solve as part of a take-home exam.
Software engineering is really fucking hard, but also really fucking well paid.

I really wouldn't know! We only had like two lectures on it, barely scratched the surface. We had a ton of semantics, though, which to me was only really interesting as a kind of puzzle.
Uh, the tickets cost a fucking ton and the journey takes forever! The price is around $1000, specifically, and it's ~18 hours with three separate planes. Sucks, but worth it!
