Kinda funny we don't have a thread like this since "Help Others" is under the banner.

This thread is for asking questions that can't be found with readilly available tools like search engines or that would require extensive research. These would be questions that have destinct answers rather than relationship issues or philosophical conundrums or anything of that nature (though dedicated threads for those things too would be nice I think). Of course if you get help you should try and answer someone else's question too if you can.

-but yeah, this starts with me asking for help myself. What's that word for a work position in which you don't do anything specific or terribly consistent but you just go around doing what needs done here and there?

Being some variety of auditor often involves driving to a lot of different places to do your auditing stuff. It doesn't require that much education as far as I know, just a certification usually. I know with medical chart auditing you'll often have to go out to all kinds of different hospitals to do paperwork stuff. I don't know much about this field though.

For low-skilled work it would be a "handyman".

For more professional or skilled work, you'd generally call yourself a "consultant".

I feel I must have been somewhat misleading or something and making my work seem more official than it is (because this is me mind you, I'm trying to think of what to put on my resúme for a new job). I work at a Subway see, but I don't have a specific title like that I am the person who runs the register. I do run the register as needed but I do everything from dishes to prep to serving the food (-and I sure aint gonna put "sandwich artist" as my job title). The closest thing I can think of is "sales associate" but I know I've heard something better uttered before. I guess knowing this term would also help me in the search because online services for finding jobs are a complete mess and don't ever seem to put unskilled labor jobs off in their own place.

The only problem I could never find on google is whether very deep breathing is safe. It makes your body vibrate in certain spots and give you better high than alcohol or weed with huge endorphine rush. The problem is, some people say it's beneficial ancient meditation technique that promotes good cardiovascular health and others that it's unhealthy hyperventilation. I'm afraid to do it because there seems to be no study on this, unlike as with cold showers which is a similar thing.

This post contains penis talk.

Why do my urine and seminal fluids sometimes smell like things like chicken noodle soup and popcorn butter and stuff? I mean I guess there's some sort of natural eating away at the urethra or whatever from the acids and there's salts and such but I dunno. I never really eat meat though my diet is pretty lousy overall and I'm not in shape should this be humored as dangerous.

I though this thread was for answers that you couldn't easily find on Google. Just look up "urine smells" or "X smells" and you'll find a host of other resources.

http://www.m.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/features/the-truth-about-urine

>Urine normally doesn't have a very strong smell. If you get a whiff of something particularly pungent, you could have an infection or urinary stones, which can create an ammonia-like odor. Diabetics might notice that their urine smells sweet, because of excess sugar. In the past, doctors would actually taste urine for this sweetness to diagnose diabetes.

>Some foods can also change urine odor. Asparagus is among the most notorious. What people are smelling when they eat asparagus is the breakdown of a sulfur compound called methyl mercaptan (the same compound found in garlic and skunk secretions). If you catch a whiff of something after eating a plate of asparagus, it means that you've inherited the gene for the enzyme that breaks down mercaptan. Not everyone has this enzyme and, therefore, not everyone can smell it.

No, it only supports FX-type audio manipulation plugins (VST's, think reverb, distortion, flanger, that kind of thing), not instrument-type audio generator plugins (VSTi's, synthesizers, samplers, drum machines, etc). You'll need a proper DAW if you want to use those, Audacity is just a simple audio editor.

While it does support recording audio and editing recorded audio, it doesn't have any real audio generation capabilities (besides very simple tones) or a MIDI sequencer, and it can't do anything in real-time.

Where would I have to go to be able to cut and work with wood? I want to make drink coasters but I don't have the tools necessary so I'd like to go someplace where I can use them (for a fee, I suppose) and maybe get help with a few problems I'll inevitably be facing. Woodworkers and woodcarvers make wonderful business with high quality furniture and the like, and are essentially masterworkers and artisans that continue to make a living.

If you're interested in that sort of thing, you can apprentice at a workshop closest to you. But if you're just looking to make these coasters as you say, you could look for a hobby shop, or a local Boy Scout store and ask around for woodcarving tools. If that fails then amazon is probably your best friend: look for tools like a carving knife, fishtail, spoon, and straight gouges, coping saw, a V-tool, and a chisel. Youtube videos can give you basic pointers on how to use them correctly.

But, if worse come to worst, you can always just use a basic pocketknife or whittling knife.

I've read both The Game and Rules Of The Game, and… well, yes and no. You can learn how to pretend-at-socializing until it becomes second nature (AKA "fake it til you make it"). Many of the principles behind the "techniques" require little translation to use for, for example, just making friends or even dastardly deeds like kissing up to your boss or getting out of a traffic ticket.

Also, don't listen to anyone saying it's "misogyny"; I'd actually criticize Neil Strauss's books as white knighting! The guy pedestalizes women to an embarrassing degree.

It's perhaps the best to put oneself above the game and don't concern oneself with relationships. Unless of course you can't and/or don't want to.

Also, it's worth remembering there are people who develop genuine relationships and for whom the game doesn't exist.

Neil Strauss's books are obviously misogynistic in that he looks down on women, but that's only if you validate concept of misogyny in the first place.

Yes, there do exist social naturals but even The Game calls PUAs "geeks playing pretend" or in nicer terms in Rules, those who are naturals at it and those who learn.

Basically, PUA is for /r9k/ers who only care about pussy and don't mind developing "vocal copypasta" to spit out at specific points like a computer program. If nothing else, you at least learn how to talk to people as in my (self practiced, no PUA routines or anything) experience, it really just boils down to vocal copypasta with anyone who aren't close friends or family, and even then half the convo is that anyway, even if your "routine" for the day is telling people about your thoughts on the latest episode of American Horror Story.

You got it mixed up a bit. Matter and energy can indeed become the other, but are two different things (except on the quantum level where shit gets weird). In most chemical reactions, the energy given off or absorbed is from the bonds formed and/or broken by particles, not the particles themselves. There are "reactions" where matter can become energy like nuclear fusion, but that's less chemistry and more physics.

And the law of conservation states that matter and energy can never be destroyed or created, only transferred into different forms. The only exception is quantum fluctuation, but I doubt you have to worry about that.

You must go outside to buy groceries. Try talking to the cashier or to the people stacking shelves. Treat it like practice.

With time it may feel natural and easy. Or it may still seem like a clunky process but at least you could learn how to carry on a conversation in a manner that appears to be natural to observers.

Good luck anon. The easiest convos to have is about inconsequential things like "what is the person's preferred cereal or how is the weather.

You can also go to a dead bar and try talking to the bar tender. Part of their job description should be listening to people and talking. But order a drink.

Good luck friend

>Useless answer.

Not!

The point I was trying to make was: just like you don't have to stop and consciously decide to breathe and get hung-up or blocked by getting caught in a feedback loop of fretting about how and why to breathe, you just do it. If you stop to think, you've already failed.

Do what PUAs do: when you spot somebody, count to 3 in your head and just walk over and begin flapping your gums. Why 3? Any longer and you'll psyche yourself out of talking. If you make a fool of yourself? So what? It's like riding a bicycle for the first time: you're gonna fall, over and over and over, many times you'll be bleeding or you'll smash your skull on a rock. Whatever, get back on and try, try, try again.

Hell, you could try what I did and just tell them you're painfully shy and bad at talking to people. Seemed to work for this diagnosed assburger enough to be able to pass the "he's sociable enough" unspoken test of my current employer who made it clear only to those hired that they don't give a damn what you have on your resume, the interview was to gauge how well you socialized and such.

I think pleasure from prostate fondling is a myth.

It's meant to justify feminism and homosexuality.

What if the prostate was as sensitive as the stomach?

There wouldn't be any reason left to finger, fuck, or fingerfuck a man.

But as we need a reason to fuck men, we will find a theory with the air of scientificity.

Just be kind to men : don't fuck them.

> they don't give a damn what you have on your resume

what field?

>3 second rule

(not him)

It's all well and good. I've tried it in all honesty. I've even preached it sometimes.

But "just don't think", while it works for some, doesn't work for others.

btw, this reminds me of Infinite Jest by DF Wallace. He has a nice way of jamming about the fact of overthinking.

He said at some point he (or a character) realized that his brain, that used to help by planning things in advance and abstracting relevant facts, became an actual enemy, like foreign matter. He realized that he would spend 99% of his time imagining the worst case scenario, to be ready for "everything". He has a nice way to describe how a brain, trying to protect, can become an instrument of torture. (I've had several nightmares last night, I could tell you about it)

My point is, I'm sure your intention is good, and it's great you managed to shut your brain and overgrew your fear. But "just don't think" always triggers me so much.

They did an experiment with rats and girl rats, to study their sexuality. Boy rat on one side, aroused girl rat on the other. In the middle, electrical obstacles. You can see that boy rat is willing to take a lot of shit (electrocution) to get the girl rat. But beyond some level of voltage / intensity, he just gives up. After several days of training, even if the electricity is gone, show him the horniest girl rat, boy rat just sulks and *thinks* (what if, what if, to be or not to be, I wish she could fart in my face, I want to see her with rat Jamal…)

This is called trauma.

And *not trying* has a purpose. Because sometimes, when you keep trying, it goes from bad to worse (negative reinforcement, see Rodger).

It's funny how I met people with social phobia, including a pretty girl, bad news is she fucked an investment banker, good news is how nice it felt when I heard this girl looking completely adjusted, confessing all the mantras she had to tell herself just to get by through the day. Things like "you don't have to be perfect, you're ok".

When you hate yourself, and have experienced too many rejections, the 3 second rule is just not enough.

One thing I manage to do on my good days is try to catch the eyes of a girl, aka eye-contact. In the best case scenario, it can motivate her to do the approach.

Also, I found that, better than prohibition ("don't think"), encouragement (coaching) could work better.

These days, I know that approaching a woman successfully is out of question (last time I've done it, it took me too long, she stared at me from head to toes, and didn't even answer, then started smiling to a guy who imitated my courage). I know the 1st step is to get hobbies. But I have no money. So the 1st step is to find a job. But I've sent so many letters with no replies, that I'm like the boy rat seeing the horny girl rat : sometimes I pass by window walls with dozens of Apple computers with giant screens, with men and women working (architects? PR ? VR ?), it just makes me sad.

I listen to soft music while laying in bed for around an half hour before I intend on getting sleep.

Most of the time when you can't sleep it's because of over-activity in the brain, basically feeling like it should stay awake. Usually you need to limit excessive stimulus to a minimum; the worst offender in this case is computer monitors, TV screens, phones, etc. Bright, artificial (or even natural) lights are your brain's worst enemy when trying to sleep.

Reading a book in dim lighting or listening to quiet music is a good way for your brain to wind down.

Before I started becoming more aware of my ego, the idea of anal penetration or nipple play was something that pushed me away. There must be a program implemented in the subconscious of most of us that makes us repulsed by the idea.

I think this mechanism shouldn't be dismantled in minds of young people by outside influence. They should either come to this conclusion on their own when they're ready, or never at all.

Also, I suspect this mechanism has roots very deep. Even though I feel no shame experimenting with prostate massage, it could be that lower levels of my psyche don't like the idea. I think this way because my libido seems to shut down for a few weeks after I put something in my anus? Just in case I'm fucking up some deeper parts of me, I'm not going to keep experimenting. I'm only going to try this again after I learn to access my subconscious with proper mediation. Something that will probably take me years.

Practice slow deep breathing and try to clear your head. If you have low self worth it's most likely because you have a negative feedback loop running in your head. Try clearing it with meditation and exercise and replace it with positive affirmations.

You have worth anon. Take pride in whatever simple job you have. If you have no job know that you can get one. Tell yourself that you can get one and do a few applications everyday. Go for walks and visit stores /businesses and market your /kind/self to the world.

What limits do I have to impose on myself when talking to one? I know at the very least you can't let them know you plan to harm yourself (or do anything that sounds illegal) or they're obligated to call the police. Aside from that I know I've heard people tell that they've had their therapist somehow screw them over just for sounding so bad it made them uncomfortable. As far as I go I've never planned anything troublesome with any sort of conviction but I can certainly sound like I should be on the verge of something with how terribly bleak I get. I'm willing to open up but I don't want to be betrayed.

8chan being buggy trash, and the fact that posts made after the failed import will be lost (I'm "archiving" all of our /kind/ posts so they won't really be lost) are just a few the deterrents users have to deal with. If only it were that easy. What do you do when friends and family ignore you, you have no faith in a higher power, and all your actions are considered laughable by others?

There are too many people in the world for people to care about all of them. Emotional support is a resource, and a finite one at that. I do agree that we have to be convinced of our own self-worth to be happy and positive, and I also agree that negativity is cyclical, However, some people just aren't born with the right genes to be positive, and have to make up for it by changing their body chemistry through antidepressants. Forever.

Some of us have to sit on corners and beg for change to remind others that we still need to help the people around them. For the record, I am homeless, despite working two jobs and having no free time. I try to work as much as possible to keep my mind off my life situation. And I have to remind everyone here that as long as you are still under 30, you are still considered "young" by our society, and have a lot of time to change.

Dont settle for a shitty job, you will get better, and with a lot of luck, get better. If you are built for it. We all are stuck in a shitty lottery of having things and not having them. We are all here most likely because we dont have the mindset of a "normal" person. That isn't inherently wrong, but people who consider themselves "normal" will want to stay away from you because you are different and we all resist change as much as we are able.

Unfortunately, that means that it is harder for us to find jobs and to find romance. The only recourse is simply to take the punches and keep stepping forward. People may not like the bruises you carry, but keep moving forward anyway. If you have the ability to keep living, then you live. If you don't, then you die.

I don't like the sugarcoatings that a lot of people give regarding people who are depressed. As >>24540 implied, it is up to us to make our lives better. No one is going to have our shoulder throughout our entire lives. Some of us succeed and some of us fail. That's just the way it is. We can't all be winners without having some losers thrown in the mix.

Do what makes you happy. Better to spend your time doing that, even if the alternative makes you rich. Self-worth is meaningless; if you have it, then you have it. If you dont, you don't. It's not something that can be found or discovered; its who you are.

Thanks for listening to this old fart's rant. All I want in existence is for my ideas to be understood. I don't care whether or not you agree. I'm out; work beckons.

Yes it's possible.

Configuring the IPs on two different Ethernet ports is no problem, its quite easy on Windows and Linux to config the IPs. Whether it's two separate NIC cards or two ports on one card does not matter.

The hard part for getting two external IPs:

In order to have two different external IPs you would need two gateways (two routers on two different internet connections)

It would be expensive to get two separate connections to your house. Most likely they would have to be different types like cable and satellite or DSL and Cable or fiber.

I went through these same thoughts not too long ago…

Definitely try going to a shrink if you never have, but….

Please please please make sure to get a therapist specialized in helping with your most severe issues! Don't go to a generic shrink!

I have had severe depression and mild autism forever and I went to a generic couple's therapist. Big mistake! When I told her how I felt she called an ambulance twice in one week! She told my family too and nothing is better now.

I moved and changed my phone number because everyone smothering me with phonecalls and visits wasn't allowing me to get anything done! I lost my job when word got around and had to move to a new area to stop being hounded by my family!

Just make sure to pick a shrink that is specialized in what you need!

Im looking for a good community for fuck ups, losers, depressive friendgots and miserable people in general. We all know a hanful but I have gripes with all of them. /r9k/ is all about lack of relationships and I have bigger, mostly mental issues. Same for wizchan and im not into their retarded groupthinking echo chamber that borders /x/ at times, been there, never again. /suicide/ is well, they know the answer but im too coward for it. /mental/ doesnt talk a lot about depression from what ive seen. /sad/ is dead, same goes for smaller chans like tohno, uboachan and similar. And social anxiety and reddit communities are full of relatively normal people exagerating their class presentations anxiety. Where the fuck can I go?

What does /kind/ think of prostitution? And the ethics of paying a sex worker. I'm not talking about human trafficking. Some countries have laws to protect to sex workers. In such countries workers get tested regularly and pay taxes etc.

If it's in such a society is there anything inherently wrong with it?

personally paying prostitution is at the same level as illegal drug consumption to me, i think it should be kept illegal but i wont judge someone if they indulge in it

although i don't get how this question has anything to do with being kind in the slightest

I'm playing a retro future rpg (Traveler system). There are robots that have sentience and go around killing scientists and downloading information to find out their past and because fuck humans. When I asked one about this he sent me a video of humans throwing robots into a crusher and used it to justify their violence. What should I do to get this army of about 50,000 soldier robots to become /kind/? I'm thinking of making them a song, what else could I do?

>>38237

Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

In countries that have it regulated, using barriers such as condoms are mandated by law.

Stds are spread more when it's illegal. Also normal friends promiscuous sex spread sti/ std anyways.

i'm not saying you should be completely dehumanize sex workers or look at them as second class citizens like many do, what i mean is that it is wrong to make profit of something that you do not have to work for naturally, and it takes the passion out of sex when it is with someone you love or at least that you chose yourself.

>>38279

what countries have it regulated anon?

>Also normal friends promiscuous sex spread sti/ std anyways

but not nearly as much as it is spread through as with prostitution

Sounds more like you're upset you can't do it.

Parts of America, the place with Amsterdam too.

He just explained that prostitutes by law must wear protection, friends do not.

I'm buying a weighted blanket for someone who's about 90 pounds, how much should the blanket weigh?

I don't have any experiences with weighted blankets but I found this on google, hope it helps!

>When it comes to finding your own weighted blanket, there are several factors to consider. First, you want a blanket that’s roughly 10 percent of your body weight. For example, for someone who weighs 150 pounds, a 15 pound blanket would be best. If you fall in between the standard weights of blankets, it’s better to choose the heavier option.

>Weighted blankets come in many different types of fabric, just like any other. Make sure you choose a fabric that you like, and, if you have sensory issues, won’t cause irritation. The same goes for the blanket’s filling: A blend of beads and cotton will feel more traditional, while a filling entirely of beads or discs will be a more intense, closer experience.

I swear, something got mixed up in my mom's womb and I was born with the body and mind of a man but the "emotional intelligence" and "spirituality" of a woman. 😛 Must be why I get along with women so well (especially lesbians since we're into the same thing!), why I've never really matched the wavelength of "the Guys".

Beer-swilling, manly-man "dudebros" just 'feel' like weird and alien creatures with zero sense of the aesthetic, of non-physical "spiritual/emotional" matters (for lack of better words), non-verbal "subcommunication" (for lack of a better word), and so on. As if they're walking wooden blocks.

Is this how women look at most men?

Man.. I can't remember the last time I got a hug from a girl that wasn't family. It might be 2 or 3 years.

The last person I got a hug from was my dad and that's an awkward uncomfortable thing because he was pretty much a violent, tyrannical and condescending man for most of my life.

I am unironically considering buying a daki. But I need to get a new job and unneet myself first

I think its a poor use of time. Both yours and the people you are sending the invites to. Quality > quantity, my friend. Id rather have 2 people I really trust and tell them everything thats on my mind than a group of people who I dont want to expose myself to. Take it for what you will, I hope you continue to try new things out and find out what works well for you. Lots of love.

While you're right, it's a sad fact that one must go through a whole lot of quantity to find that quality worth keeping around.
