I'm new to this buyfag stuff, but I have to ask. Are there any other places from where I can order books and CDs?

Right now I'm browsing Alice Books and almost everything that looks interesting is sold out. Pic somewhat related.

Mandarake's pretty bro but don't miss a payment or pay late or they'll ban you from their service permanently, and they're autistic about checking to make sure you can't make a second account.

But yeah, make sure you pay on time and don't cancel your orders. I think they let you do it once or twice but anymore after that they'll ban you.

It only took them about 24 hours to find the item and give me a quote, but it can take up to 3 days I've heard. Keep in mind they operate in Japan and you'll probably get the email at a weird time.

I'm looking at some stuff at Alice Books and I'm about to order.

There is an option for "International Mail" Service or EMS. Is the "International Mail" Service parcel going to survive the trip to Europe or should I go with EMS and pay 8 times the price of the single book I'm ordering just to be sure?

Because I've been around long enough to see what happens when Jap artists go for the Furry market– for starters, they never return to drawing/creating/publishing the things at a quality they did before: it's just murrsonas on plain backgrounds like the rest of the Furry dreck. They no longer do doujins with any effort put in, and what they do put out is 'tiny'/fewer pages, and priced for the Americans– as we've already seen with Sindoll.

The Kemono Fursuiters are also fucking-up bigtime too due to 'wanting to follow the Furries' rather than being a distinct scene of its own. (I was about to start a thread about them a few weeks ago, but checking on what was being done currently was shown to be just a smaller version of Furry-suiters; in 5 years, there'll be conventions of generic murrsuits like in the States.

You have more experience than I do for both scenes so I'm not arguing the trend really but for him the only real difference Ive seen in the past 2 years is that you can actually commission him for work

Here's another pic that made me rage. Sure, the costuming is nice, but: the 3 identical suits were all made by the same person for money, and it's became a Generic like the toonhead carpetsuits.

It's too late for kemonosuiting. The only difference I can see between the second image (from the 'Chibakemo' convention) and a Furry convention photoshoot are the suit's head designs. Expect the Kemo scene to get overrun by guys wanting to wrap themselves in synthetic fur for their internetfriendz, and much less content like we're here being fans of… :/

It's against paypal's terms of service to use it for any adult material, mandarake's been getting away with it under the radar for years. Paypal is probably getting serious with legal threats if they don't stop.

Anyway, just use a deputy service to get things off mandarake that's 18+ for the time being, mandarake will probably try and get a new payment option up within the year.

There's a doujin that just got released last month at Kemoket (iirc) and I'm having trouble finding it available online outside of about two Japanese auction sites. Sorry, I'm incredibly new to the world of actually buying doujins.

Depends on the artist. Sometimes they'll sell stuff throughout the year at various conventions, other times they'll make a doujin and sell it once at one convention and it'll never get reprinted.

A general rule of thumb you should follow in this hobby is to buy something as soon as you can because you never know if it'll be available again.

I guess it's too soon to know if this guy is gonna do any reprints, the one I was looking for was only released about a month ago.

So I just recently got into kemono stuff, and I'm not too familiar with kemono doujin artists, but I'm going to Comiket in a month and wouldn't mind being able to pick up some kemono stuff. Any advice on circles to look at while I'm there? It'll be my first time at Comiket so having a few names in mind would greatly help.

Dude, I brought back a bunch of doujins coming back to America. You shouldn't have any trouble as long as they don't check each individual book. I brought back all these doujins and didn't have a problem with them.

One thing I would suggest is if you know your favorite artist, look up their website or Twitter. If they're going to Comiket they'll have something there that will show what day they're going and what area they'll be at. Heads up though, if any artist you like is gonna be on day 3 GET THERE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

Good to hear. I wasn't seriously worried about customs since I didn't plan to bring back anything too questionable. Also I was already planning to be there early on the third day anyway since that's when most of the music is there (gotta pick up all my garbage loli denpa CDs).

I'll start with the list provided earlier as a base, but is it easy to just walk around and discover new stuff? As I said I'm a bit new to kemono stuff so I was hoping to just find things which piqued my interest, but I know Comiket's enormous and full of raging otakus so I dunno if that's really feasible.

It's both easy and not easy. Finding kemono however is gonna lean more towards not easy if you don't know where to go. Usually the kemono artists are located near the same area so finding one circle will lead you to possibly another. The 1st and 2nd day is the best time to wander around different artist tables to search for doujins. The 3rd day is impossible, you have to know where you're going and you have to maneuver around a SEA of people.

If it's doujins, eromanga, tapestries, whatever, you're not going to be able to buy them directly. Most proxy services are pretty shit with them too, since they don't have people who know the scene well enough to deal with the specifics - especially around 18+ work.

Give White Rabbit Expresshttp://gelbooru.com//images/7f/ad/7fadd0a3e32472de32c3ba6d9223e1cb.jpg?921352 a try (https://www.whiterabbitexpress.com/). The woman in charge of the proxy orders knows her shit inside and out (she's a doujinshi collector too), is a native English speaker, her people make sure the items get got (to the point of chasing down and contacting sellers directly if that's what it takes) and they'll happily handle any kind of 2D 18+ item (and most 3D too except RL "child models"). Be polite and she'll go out of her way to make sure you get your stuff.

The amount of figures that are impossible to get (you're waiting for someone to die, and then hoping their stuff doesn't get thrown in the trash) is obscene. I understand trends and things like that but so many garage-kit one-offs are so rare you would have an easier time buying a heart or liver off of the black market.

If you're talking about garage kits (which are the majority of kemono figures in existance) then the majority will never appear on sites like Amiami because garage kits are, by definition, small batch work done by circles of amateurs and sold directly to enthusiasts at dedicated events. (The reason they are small batches is because the silicone or rubber molds used to cast the resin parts degrade after a number of uses. Commercial molds used to make mass-scale figures cost tens of thousands of dollars to make, at their absolute cheapest.)

If you want a GK, your best bet is always to go to Japan for WonFes, do your homework, assemble your team, queue early, and fight on the morning battlefield. If you can't do this, your ways to acquire are either direct sale or 2nd hand dealers. Which one depends on whether the work is original or based off a licensed work like a game or manga.

If it's original and unencumbered by copyright, you might be able to contact a circle directly in Japanese (or ask a proxy buyer like White Rabbit above to contact them) and try to arrange purchase of a kit directly if they have any left over. (If they are a popular circle, they will not have any left over after the first hour of WonFes let alone after the event itself.) Check the circles' blogs for possible hints.

If the GK is based off a copyrighted work, you need to be aware of the "day license" system. Basically, when you pay to go to WonFes as a circle, some of that money is passed on as a flat fee to whoever owns the work you've made your GK from. In return, you are granted a "day license" wherein all the kits you bring with you on the day are all fully licensed under copyright law, completely above board. WonFes and other events generally distribute special holographic stickers to circles on the day. These are placed on kits they sell to verify they're day-licensed.

What this means for you is that if you are not able to attend events, second hand dealers like Mandarake or Suruga-ya are your best bet, or Yahoo! Auctions Japan (you will need a proxy bidder for Yahoo) right after an event. The hunt for rare "grail" kits is a constant theme of GK collectors worldwide.

GKs are always sold unpainted. Learning to clean, assemble and paint kits well is an art in and of itself. It's an art that's been around for nearly two decades, so there's a thriving industry to support it.

That covers the basics. Now you know more than the 95% of effort-free hurr dur how 2 buy figure how to get shitposters and can begin your ascent as a gloriously patrician kemono GK collector.

WonFes (short for Wonder Festival if that helps your googling) happens twice a year, in summer and winter. It's usually held at Makuhari Messe, which is a large conference venue a ways away from the Tokyo core cities. To get into WonFes, you must purchase a catalogue (doing so well beforehand is highly recommended because it's how you set your targets and make your plans) or purchase a ticket for the same price outside the venue (DON'T do this if you plan to fight in the morning battle).

There are two wings to Makuhari Messe during WonFes. One holds commercial exhibitors, and it's often where PVC figure prototypes are shown before they're put into final production. Often, you can buy special WonFes-only colours of commercial figures from big makers if that's your thing. The other, larger wing is comprised of several halls and has all the doujin GK circles, each occupying a table or for larger circles, several tables. Most will have examples of their current and past kits on display, but you must be very careful to never touch or knock these, and should be aware of the kanji for "sold out", "newest work" etc. so you're not that gaijin who keeps asking for kits from 2 years ago.

As for GK assembling + painting guides, there are tons and tons and tons if you Google around. Kits usually come with a little piece of paper showing the day license sticker, a Polaroid of a finished kit, the recommended assembly order, and sometimes a little diagram of painting areas. If you want to get into painting GKs, you will need to practice. I recommend going through the places I mentioned before and looking for cheap batch sales, where people sell many kits they don't want any more in one sale. You can also get practice with plastic model kits (those cute little egg planes are nice and cheap as are some of the more simple mecha kits) as they share many of the same basic techniques as assembling and painting resin, albeit often much fiddlier.

If you can locate a club or society that paints kits or miniatures that's a good place to go and see if anyone can offer you advice. Don't go saying you want to paint Jap furry ladies, just ask about garage kits and see if anyone knows their shit.

I'm pretty sure that most garage kit figures are painted at least partly with an airbrush. They actually do sell small ones specifically for modeling, if you're willing to shell out for one. Always airbrush in a well-ventilated place.

Otherwise, a rule you see pretty often is to

>THIN YOUR PAINTS

that is, mix some water into your paint and give your model an even coat by applying multiple thin layers instead of one EXTRA THICC coat straight from the paint jar.

Now that the book's actually been released, the links for chapters 3 and 4 of the comic have been taken down from Comic Ryu's website. However, at least for the moment, it's still possible to access the image files for the pages themselves (which I'd recommend either way because Comic Ryu's page viewer sucks).

The URL for the comic's image files follows the format

where "xx" is the issue number and "yy" is the page number. 03/01.jpg would be the first page of chapter 3, for instance. Maybe someone might want to make a .zip file?

The book itself is only 670 yen on Amazon, if anyone's interested.

Unless it's one of those 800 threaded ones from Royalpillow, then no. You can usually get some good stuff for nearly half the price. And assuming you can't get that body pillow yourself, you can always use a forwarding or proxy service like Whiterabbitexpress and Biginjap to get it for you. Personally, I would say use BiJ for more fragile things. White doesn't ship things as safely as BiJ when it comes to how they wrap their products.

I don't know what happened to Buried Frog. His Twitter is flagged as private as well. I know the last picture he uploaded is dated September 25th. I put some Tweets through Google translate and found one dated September 28th that says

"I was ashamed of paintings I did not get?

Sometimes I turn it off and disappear, but it's a picture I painted.

If I enjoyed drawing time, that would be enough.

If you draw with your interest as a hobby, you must have fun."

So it looks like he wasn't enjoying drawing anymore or was ashamed of his work or something and closed everything down.

As for dakis, I have pics related. They're comfy to cuddle with at night. Links if you're interested.

This should be a more complete collection. It has most of what was posted on his Pixiv, Twitter, and Tumblr. It was exported from Hydrus though, so it isn't very organized. Unfortunately, I deleted some of the stuff I didn't care for (mostly some of his older works, WIPs, some alt backgrounds, and cum variants), so I can't say it's a complete archive.

When I first started collecting kemono, I thought of it as my own personally curated gallery. As time went on, I started treating it more like I was archiving all of their work, leaving stuff I didn't like in the inbox and putting stuff I liked in the archive, but not outright deleting anything (sans duplicates). I've been going back and redownloading a bunch of artist's stuff that I previously deleted to have a truly complete archive of their work, but unfortunately, Buriedfrog closed everything down before I got to him.

The thing is, he mentioned in one of the tweets >>9900 linked that he had another unnamed account that he was uploading to that he didn't want to be connected to Buried Frog, which makes me worried that he's trying to phase out his connection with kemono and focus on other things. But hopefully he's going to continue both making kemono art and whatever new stuff he's doing. Maybe he initially thought he needed to reset everything and start anew, and then changed his mind and decided it doesn't need to be all or nothing.

Sorry for the late reply, but here's why. Sorry If I'm rushed.

Well, back before my family knew about what I had done, I met a guy on the Internet who helped me buy something I always wanted. I thought he was a scammer, but as I found out, he isn't, so I trusted him.

After asking him to buy something I want, I went to the bank to give the money to him, as in buying a book, but before I'll get the chance to do so, I got scolded by my family for this, and this gets worse as it goes on. Then I will never seen him again after this.

Nowadays, my family are fine with me buying a book, but only if I don't buy porn and ask one of my relatives to buy it for me.

I do know about it. It's just that I've never seen something that has a kemololi on it.

Probably because unless the onahole is somehow more kemono than others, there's not a whole lotta point in it. Cause other than the onahole you're just masturbating as usual, and the kemono part is filled in by imagination/porn. So really you could buy any onahole and just pretend it's a kemololi snatch. Though I've never seen a kemo one either.

Remember the time where most western furry artists likes to shove everything with bizarre fetish and such? This lad at sadpanda can explain this better:

"I have come to realise that my dislike for furry pretty much springs from western artists. Usually their art is very cringeworthy and they insist trying to fit as many as possible weird fetishes in their art as possible.

And everyone has a dick. If not, they will soon grow one."

I don't know if this is a coincidence or not.

I'm not really seeing how that quote relates to a kemono onahole.

Looking at the inside of the onahole, this is what it reminds me of.

But the inside is just made like that so putting your dick in it feels nice. And an onahole is the complete opposite of a penis.
