I think one of the anons in the original thread was right in saying that VNs are kind of saturated. I don't think breaking the game into "routes" would be particularly wise, if the sex could be tied to a different but similarly simple mechanic.

Well if it's an OC, the OC would have to be weak enough so as to not be able to cause deviation from the plot, and probably be mind powers, unless said game was made after the end of the show which ain't gonna happen. In the case of both OC and non OC MCs you could potentially have All for One give an extra power to the MC to facilitate the plot, since the plan is to bone a bunch of girls.

See the problem is their goals are incredibly rigid, all 4 of those guys, you would have more freedom to write with Mineta since he is a perv or Ojira since he's pretty much a blank slate.

Neito Monoma would allow lots of writing freedom and allow the game to expand a ways but it would require a lot of conditional writing and Yosetsu Awase suffers from the same problem.

It seems to me we only really have 2 options for a cannon MC unless we start getting weird or reach into the adult cast.

I was also just now thinking of another way he could grow his attributes.

For QDeku I was already thinking quizzes like in FF8 Seed test which are questions about in game knowledge, and the quizzes from MML2 at the school, along with basic puzzles for building QDeku's gear like connect a to b wire puzzles and other stuff. In a similar vein I was thinking may some timing puzzles for Baku like how they do in Kirby Superstar Megaton Punch, combined with getting advice from others that would flesh out Baku's growth in a non grindy Kill>LVL>Repeat way.

So what I'm thinking is make the combat system the rhythm game, possibly combined with a QTE-style rapid tapping, so you would get bars of various lengths in one of four slots and when a bar is in the zone, you want to press the key as fast as possible to maximize the number of points you get. Combat ends after a certain amount of time, and victory is dependent on how many points you get.

Baku and Deku are differentiated because Bakugo's mechanics would encourage mashing keys (like perhaps a boost that makes each keypress count as two for scoring) while Deku's would encourage calmer, precise and clever play (A bonus that gives a certain number of "Plus Ultra"s where a perfect press on the start of a line will auto press the key once every x seconds regardless of player input).

Deku would upgrade by getting blueprints from leveling up the girls' social links, and then would have a spinny pipe minigame to build his new batgear. Baku would upgrade by doing something like a time-attack version of combat.

Godot is not easy and my old understanding is it was a reverse engineered unity. The script is pseudo python and if you're really good you can do some C (I think C++) coding.

I want to minimize the number of unique systems, and Bakugo learning through sparring and challenging himself to just raw fight better makes the same statement about his character as Deku's upgrades coming from puzzles.

So it would make thematic sense to combine Combat and Baku's upgrade paths, on top of probably being quite a bit easier to build. Hit Points and moves is okay, but also kind of generic and probably would end up being slower; making Combat a Rhythm/QTE would make it feel frenetic and fast-paced, which would hopefully not only be more fun but also help prevent boner death between scenes by making the part of the game you can't hold your dick during shorter.

Especially if the rest of the game is more VN-like, and if we have an artist willing to do different costumes for the girls so you can move from combat directly into Chunko in a maid outfit or whatever.

It would make it easier to justify incest on both counts, if we go that route, and being willing to fuck bakugo's mum in Deku's case if we're not. For the record, combat is a good idea because it provides a good way of creating a climax/rest wave, which is important for any game which is actually fun. That's also why I want the combat to be relatively fast-paced - optimally the graph would look something like pic related, with combat being a (simple) lock on sex scenes, which would be pretty quick to pop after defeating a new opponent, and then periods of falling tension afterwards where the player has a chance to relax, upgrade their equipment, go back and see a scene they've already unlocked, whatever, until they want to tackle the next opponent, at which point the tension spikes back into the double-point of combat/sex.

You could just make all the scenes available at the start, but that would defeat the purpose of making it a game and not just a smutty fanfic with art. Or you could lock it behind decisions, but then we're just looking at a Visual Novel, unless you figure we go with an RTS or something.

Fucking Toga is definitely a thing people want though, and I'd be totally down for writing a Toga scene. In this instance the puzzles would have to be easy and one handed as well as not take too long because of the nature of the game. The goal is fairly straight forward, be just difficult enough to make the player feel they have achieved some form of progress through personal action hitting the timed marks while actually progressing the game slightly, in the form of growth. I don't really mind who the MC is as long as it is written well, but i thought that i would throw my two cents in. Keep in mind that this is from a writing and story perspective, I am just trying to say what i think the biggest challenges and advantages are for the story for each MC option.

From a story perspective with backugo/Deku as the MC(s) it would definitely be easy to use them for a basic story, they are established characters, fun mechanics with their quirks, and it would be easy to write if the writer is familiar with their characters. However the fact that there will be a corruption/slave route, and people in this thread and the last thread seem to want that route to involve the MC betraying the cast to the league, it would take a skilled writer to change the personalities of pre-established characters to align them with the villains for the route without it seeming out of character and forced. Deku it too soft to willingly side with villains, and while backugo is aggressive, more violent and more in the gray area of how a hero should act, it was already established that he wants to be a hero to fight villains. So while bakugo/deku would work for a simple love route, without a good writer and plot, a slave/corruption route in the way that has been described in the threads would most likely not work well. Not to mention if the separate MC for each route idea goes through, it would just be more work for the writer, coder and artist, further delaying the game and deterring people who would want to work on it with the extra work load.

Now the OC MC. The main challenges for the OC would be when and how he joins UA in the universes timeline, the personality of the OC (although this could vary with the routes), his looks if that matters to people who don't want a faceless MC, and his quirk. those things can be debated, but from a writing/story perspective the OC would be easier on the writer, assuming he is creative enough for it. the plot would be simple, the villains send him in to infiltrate and disrupt UA. For the routes I think it would be fairly simple as well, slave route he corrupts/enslaves them, and love route he turns on the villains and romances the girls. for his quirk, a mind altering/corrupting quirk would work, but it doesn't have to be limited to that. We already know that all for one can grant people multiple quirks, so we know that there will be variety there if it is needed. So while an oc would be difficult to get started with, i feel that in the long run an OC would be easier for the writer if there is going to be both a corruption and romance route.
