Hey /hikki/, I thought since fall is here and winter is right around the corner, we could talk about things that we like and dislike about this time of year.

I love fall and winter, it's my favorite time of year. Here are some of my favorite things about it:

>bundling up in blankets

>sipping hot tea/coco/coffee

>gettin' comfy

>less guilt about not going outside, since most people don't go out in cold weather

>watching the leaves/snow fall outside your window

>less noise from outside because everyone is indoors

What are your favorite things about fall and winter, /hikki/?

I love the atmosphere you get with all the fog in fall. If you look out the window, you don't see any other houses and it feels like you're all alone in the world.

Winter is pretty great.

My house has a Kachelofen, so I fire that up and hear the fire while sitting on the warmed tiles and look out at the snow-covered veranda with the fields in the background. I put a heated teapot beside that and I can stay comfy all day.

Best sleeping spot ever too.

I have to partake in family gatherings on the 24th, 25th and 26th. It's fucking painful.

I have over twenty people downstairs, half of which I don't even know, the other half I haven't seen in years. I'm hiding in my room. I've had four different people knocking on my door trying to get me go downstairs, mummy says they're nobody's eating until I'm at the table. I haven't showered in three days and look like stinking death.

I'm seriously considering taking off down the fire escape and making a break for it, but I don't have any shoes, just slippers.

Wat do?

Everyone I knew has finally died so my gift this year is peace and quiet. Just moved to a senior 1 bedroom apartment, cheap rent, food store right next door, I finally got lucky. Found a tank of argon for wire welding, I don't weld, it's terminal medicine, in case I become sick I can take care of it myself, and go to sleep, I hate doctors and hospitals. I have a few more good years and no relatives to bother me. It's a great xmas this year.

I tried a keto diet last winter since a study showed it helped seasonal affective disorder which I have. It was good, I think it makes sense. Our ancestors took food animals and seperated meat from fat. made both good to store for the winter. Grains are more recent with agriculture. Good for rationing, can weigh accurately. But the keto made the winter less hard. I started it with the start of winter and kept it for as long as I could. Then I do cheat days with sugar free snacks mostly. But then the holidays where I treat myself to gifts and snacks. This was nice and the sadness did not come as bad as usually. Maybe try it, but make sure not to completely give up regular exercise if you do it. Maybe even start. I jumprope and it doesnt take long. Then I shower in nice hot water and get cozy at my desk. It feels nicer to do this with the jumping . I put some decorations up, a small tree recently, used to some garlande and the lights along a shelf, Are nice. I have a soft blanket that is usually too warm in the summer months. This is nice too. Sorry if this was hard to understand. I am still learning english

I miss these days when I was younger and wearing my jackets in the winter. I was still a child who goes to school everyday and the feeling of walking home after school in the rain eating my snacks was priceless, despite always being mocked and bullied at school it was a good time for me. I used to explore new places, stalking strangers and go to ghost-cities after school. I miss this feeling of coming home late to study and play video games then go to sleep.

The winter is about to start and I'll be so depressed remembering all these old days when I wasn't a depressed listless piece of shit.

I live in an area (no worries, no dox) where its pretty warm for 8+ months every year, but it gets nice and cold during the winter. My anxiety is still pretty bad, and after a few incidents when i was in my teens, I alway carry weapons and a first aid kit, plus some other supplies like a blindingly bright flashlight, firestarting kit, electric handwarmers, swiss army knife, Cell Phone car and wall charger, battery bank on me.

I can only conceal all the stuff it takes to feel comfortable enough to go out under winter clothing. BUT theres this cozy diner that doesnt have a lot of space, and is open 24/7 even in the winter. Its a family business and they know my family and Im relatively comfy towards them so they, understanding, leave me be in the coziest corner of the diner. I bring a tablet or laptop after its properly dark, they fill up my thermoses with cold water, i make flavoraid, and I browse the internet and play games all night.

Last year I played a lot of hotline miami 1&2, some of the oldest 3d Dungeons and dragons games, Zork series, Anchorhead (and IF game like zork), and a bunch of emulated games, including 2d zelda and pokemon. I'd sometimes call ahead with an order, but usually I'd bring a sandwhich and chips. I can't wait for winter, so I can get out of this freaking room

and I should add that almost nobody goes to that diner during the winter, so they dont leave the grill on. Anyone who does come in can get cold sandwiches or microwaved food, and hot drinks. and the waitress seats the at the other side of the restaurant where they cant see me.
