I'd say AI dungeon is a bit more interesting considering you can try to guide it to do some strange things. Problem is a lot of the neural networking aspects means furfags, faggots and cucks tend to rule how certain phrases go. Always use the /revert function if this happens.

For example even after setting up your character as female it often wants to describe it as male when sucking dicks. Not to mention that strange time I ended up in Zootopia after going to sleep. It even progressed to having the characters of Zootopia pop in without prompting. Not even sure what caused that, other than perhaps "hung like a horse". If this was it, then I'm pretty surprised. That line was 6-7 lines before the zootopia thing took place.

Either way, it's pretty funny to see how the AI can fuck up the story you're trying to tell.

Seems to be that they work better if they are in the same framing as some of the prompts. Using 'you' instead of 'I', being reasonably descriptive, ect. It may take some trial and error. Anything set with /remember will remain present even if you /revert before you set the remember. You can take advantage of this by making a custom prompt that describes a fairly limited scene, see how it plays out, set some things to remember and revert back near the start, and see how things play out differently. Clover also has /forget as a command to remove anything you have remembered and no longer want.

The context too long error also applies to how much text is found in all the responses the AI generates as everything it generates is held within context for 20 turns.

Have not found a good solution to sleeping constantly or frequent time skips yet. In fairness, "I don't sleep" could be confusing the model, something like "You don't need to sleep yet" might be more useful, but I need to do more testing.

Usually the only way to get through it is to either revert before it started happening. If this has happened after a point where you have completely broken the context of the story (like getting an advertisement for Xbox One, or what looks to be a verbatim blog post), then your only option is to soldier through it by forcing your own context for a dozen or so turns. IE:

I have the hardware sitting idle, I can let this 1070 chew on training a model for weeks if needed, just not sure how many epochs/iterations to train for and when to do some manual tuning. Take something like invisibility. Tried that out, after I randomly got an invisibility potion. Was using /remember, constantly handholding the program and reminding it with every input and still couldn't get anything decent.

It also seems to want to fight me sometimes and just constantly b-lines on random tangents even if I'm being handholdy and trying to lead the story.

I've also had the stars align and had great runs where I was able to just press enter repeatedly and let the program go on it's own with good results but that is very rare.

Dunno about that, but I'd suggest not using Clover. Use Thadunge instead. Doesn't have colors, but it's far more stable and less random. I've played on both and Clover just seems to live it's own life with the exact same settings as thadunge.

Like, Clover is so erratic that it can literally change the gender of those you interact with in the very next sentence. Several of the settings doesn't seem to do anything either. So yeah, ignore Clover since that thing is FUBAR and just go for boring ol' thadunge. At least that one works mostly.

No prob. Dragon is having a couple issues the past day or two but they should have it fixed by now, or soon. Check out the big long post I put up above for some tips on how to get a satisfactory experience from dragon. I'm about to dump more useful info in a sec, that I've compiled this week from experimenting.

So to get the most out of Dragon, you'll 100% want to create a scenario. The default prompts are also okay, but if you want to use those in a NSFW capacity, you have to start a game, back out of it, go to the "My Stuff" menu and edit the adventure, turn on NSFW, then resume playing and it will let you bone hot goblin bitches all night long.

For scenario creation, I've figured out a few useful things. One, use as much of the prompt box as you can. Fill that shit up entirely with details. But focus on the where and what of your scenario, rather than the who and why. The AI is really good at generating people and stuff to do, but it's not as great at deciding when, where, and why of a good story, so that's what you'll want to provide off the bat to set yourself up for a good experience.

Second, even Dragon isn't going to give you what you want 100% of the time. You have to hold its hand a little bit at first, and then occasionally as you get deeper, to steer it in the direction you want. When you first start the scenario, resubmit a few times until it starts you off in a way you want to start. The very first prompts are really important to creating a cohesive narrative.

USE the remember function. Dragon has a better memory than Griffin did, so it'll remember stuff better. Especially characters and places you interact with regularly. Your character gets married, it will remember your wife pretty well, for example, especially if you pork her every night. But it might not remember your wife's hot sister. If you want it to, put a few lines about her in the remember box. Same for places, items, and details about your character that you don't want it to forget. Just a line or two for each thing is enough. Add it as soon as you see something you don't want it to forget.

Dragon handles multiple people much better than Griffin. Do with that what you will.

I'm genuinely curious, is this still capable of 'learning', so to speak? Like if you were to say something enough times, or use long sentences enough, will it commit them to it's broad term memory without using the remember command, or is it not set to 'learn'?

Also as a separate note, what are everyone's preferred settings? Does everyone use default, or do they have their own settings that seem to work great?

I think it was trained with random internet pages as well. One time I accidentally messed up altergen inputs and entered the next command line with the number 4, and then it spat out a near perfect word for word copy of the Alteration page for Skyrim from TES wiki

It doesn't learn anything from interactions. They just feed in the last x paragraphs as input for the text generation. That's how it "remembers" whats the interaction about. If text is to far back it's removed from the input and thus forgotten. Repeating keeps it there but if done to often it screws up the text generation. The better option is to use the remember command.

The big problem is that with big models like gpt-3 there is a risk of overfitting, with the model memorizing the training data, wich correspond to what you say. Too much parameters make overfitting more likely, taking more memory and computing power too. There is ongoing research to make these models more parameter efficient, for long contexts parameter numbers explode and you need long context for coherence.

Seen it do more strange things than that if you suddenly go from a story into forcing a sleep and repetitive wake-up loop or some of the other things that just seem to fuck over the logic. One was something that looked like someone's term paper or a peer reviewed journal. Another time it went off on a suicide help-line tangent Another time it was an ad for Xbox. Have seen it a few more times, but those were more recent.

Sleep looping is basically when you go from middle of some event to "You decide to just go home and go to sleep to see what happens tomorrow." Which usually results in the AI trying to continue the story from the same point, but occasionally starts you in a sleep loop where within a single passage it recounts something then ends it with 'and then you went to sleep' or something to that effect. If you let this loop a little longer, it sometimes throws you in odd directions in an attempt to generate new context. To do this, it pulls in those kinds of word for word outputs, then it tries to incorporate those things into a story. Essentially, the AI ran out of ideas, looked around its virtual room, and started talking about the first thing it saw.

So I've tried Dragon on that shared account for the past week, a lot. I think the only thing this is missing is proper memory.

Almost every settings I built up worked very well, the only ones that had issues were a closed one where the protagonist is stuck in an underwater park (the AI would forget we're stuck down there and introduce characters that aren't supposed to be there.) And a samurai setting (The AI would forget the timeperiod.) But it was nothing a couple or retry or alter commands couldn't fix.

Everything else worked without a hitch beside the AI forgetting events between long scenes.

And now I'm sad the free trial on the account is ending, but I guess I'll spend my entire life playing this otherwise.

It's obviously the relatively short attention window of the model that cause problems. It's limited to something like 512 tokens to prevent the model for getting too big to train efficiently. Most words correspond to one tokens so the model only see something like the last 512 words, including pinned text, without any other memory maybe more with gpt3 or dragon.

If the person running the site is taking credit payments, they are using a banking service that will most certainly care about fraud. Even if you're using a VPN to mask your IP, your average idiot will probably use something else identifiable in their browser or OS. No, a single attempt won't likely lead to much of anything, but using 1 trial after another after another for awhile… That's harder to ignore.

More likely though, owner of site just realizes the problem and charges a few cents for a trial, or makes someone pay ahead of time. Or worse, gives everyone access to Dragon, but limits it to 10 entries until they pay up, removing the trial option for everyone.
