It might not be pleasant, but try to talk to it and learn its motives, origins, etc. If you feel things get out of hand, get help from a spiritual worker of some kind you can get hold of.

The problem is that kind of experience could come from many different places. From your own past trauma (in particular I remember a story told by Lon Milo Duquette about a girl who was abused as a child and inadvertently created a dragon thoughtform to keep her distracted flying in astral projection while the ordeal was underway, but later in life developed into a malevolent tulpa that would attack her and physically hurt her whenever she approached men), it could be a haunting of place (in which case you would need to cleanse an exorcise the place where you sleep; does this happen if you sleep away from your home?), some sort of curse, lust towards you or attack by someone else (knowingly or unknowingly), or for some other reason being infested by astral parasites.

I'd say the second one (haunting) is the most common. But again, it could be so many things that I don't know.

What the other anon suggested has merits only on one front: austerity (and thinking, acting and saying good things) makes you unpalatable to parasites. However, don't make yourself miserable, make yourself righteous.
