Since the announcement by the Trump administration that there is a widespread ban on all Huawei products in America, the Chinese technology manufacturer has now released a new low resolution laptop which doesn't have any of the banned components.

the Name That Pic Contest has been a Smash Hit so far, so we refined the contest and tweaked the rules a little bit.

We realized that by calling it 'Name That Pic, it was confusing because when looking at that pic, it would have been referred to as THIS pic.

So not to be confused with the original Name THAT PIC Contest, you are invited to enjoy this new improved contest!!

Name THIS Pic !!!

When’s the last time you paid attention to your breath? Most of us take it for granted and don’t stop to think how deeply we inhale or exhale. But most of us also survive on shallow breaths that have us living on edge constantly.

“We are a nation of shallow breathers,” says Lynne Everatt, coauthor of The 5-Minute Recharge: 31 Proven Strategies to Refresh, Reset, and Become the Boss of Your Day. “Deep breathing comes naturally to children, but we lose the ability because we’re in a constant state of fight-or-flight, low-level stress. Our breathing migrates up in our bodies; it’s an anxious breath.”

Controlled breathing, on the other hand, is the fastest, most effective way to trigger the relaxation response, enabling you to think more clearly and perform better under pressure, she says.

“We take better care of our phones than ourselves,” says Everatt. “When our phone battery goes from green to red, we immediately stop and recharge. But when our own bodies go into the red zone, we push through. Living in the red zone means living in a zone of depletion where we’re more susceptible to burnout, anxiety, or depression.”

The Navy SEALs use two breathing techniques that force the body into a more relaxed state when they’re in a high-pressure situation, and anyone can use them to control stress, says Everatt.

TACTICAL BREATHING:

“Tactical breathing” is a technique to use when you feel yourself having a fight-or-flight response. It involves all your breathing muscles–from chest to belly.

Here’s how it works: Place your right hand on your belly, pushing out with a big exhale. Then breathe in through your nostrils, slowly drawing the breath upward from your belly to your upper chest.

Pause and exhale, starting from your chest and moving downward to the air in your belly. Imagine your belly button touching your spine.

Once you’re comfortable with a full, deep breath, repeat it, this timePost too long. Click here to view the full text.

It is worthy of copy/pasting here:

_________

Is This "The E/n/D"?

Or just another beginning? like always.

Right Now, this very moment, there is a Present being freely offered, Here & Now.

S'pose that ain't rare, eh?

This present can be whatever you choose to make of it. Yeah, it's that powerful. It's that kind of present. You don't have to do anything, but you may get more enjoyment out of the present if you choose to do something with it. You don't have to go anywhwere, or leave where you're at, but you cannot enjoy the present anywhere else unless you do. If you're just sitting around waiting for the present to do something, it definitely will; but many wise individual interactions with the present have proven, almost axiomatically, through personal experience, that more vibrant and richer enjoyment of the present can be had with more participation and interplay.

And Who Doesn't Want to ENJOY The PRESENT?

Well, nobody I want to hang out with, day in and day out, that's who!

That's a fact.

Yet, that's exactly what I've been choosing to do, for quite some time!

WHY?

Because of the addictio/n/. That's why.

Don't play like you don't know what I mean.

We're all "addicted" i/n/ here, all 4 of us, and we know it.

And the atmosphere has become dow/n/right /n/egative, and we k/n/ow it.

The run off from /pol/

You really are a fed, aren't you?

/n/ was alot worse 4 yrs ago

The i hate niggers crowd would come in because /pol/ was too crowded and get ass blasted my me

I rarely went to /pol/ to troll the trash there, because it was boring and they were generally too stupid to get my insults.

The anons who do that are usually young and do it to feel superior to the ' I sure do hate them jews' mentality of the base there.

Now. i've seen /n/ down to as low as 40 Active ISPs when I went away(weekends and community service) for a couple of months

The mods interest in /n/ is related to the amount of users

It had no mod for awhile and I boosted the users and the current mod (you?) came in and started removing and banning and anchoring not just the really retarded stuff, but the interesting stuff as well

A rule cuck, control freak with no idea as how to run it

He helped fuck it up

I don't know how much of the banning of Andy that he was responsible for, but he did remove alot of his stuff

Partly as a result of this, /n/ loses anons, and the mod stops caring

Totally clueless(are you a fed, or the mod)

For nearly three weeks, Baltimore has struggled with a cyberattack by digital extortionists that has frozen thousands of computers, shut down email and disrupted real estate sales, water bills, health alerts and many other services.

But here is what frustrated city employees and residents do not know: A key component of the malware that cybercriminals used in the attack was developed at taxpayer expense a short drive down the Baltimore-Washington Parkway at the National Security Agency, according to security experts briefed on the case.

Since 2017, when the N.S.A. lost control of the tool, EternalBlue, it has been picked up by state hackers in North Korea, Russia and, more recently, China, to cut a path of destruction around the world, leaving billions of dollars in damage. But over the past year, the cyberweapon has boomeranged back and is now showing up in the N.S.A.’s own backyard.

It is not just in Baltimore. Security experts say EternalBlue attacks have reached a high, and cybercriminals are zeroing in on vulnerable American towns and cities, from Pennsylvania to Texas, paralyzing local governments and driving up costs.

The N.S.A. connection to the attacks on American cities has not been previously reported, in part because the agency has refused to discuss or even acknowledge the loss of its cyberweapon, dumped online in April 2017 by a still-unidentified group calling itself the Shadow Brokers. Years later, the agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation still do not know whether the Shadow Brokers are foreign spies or disgruntled insiders.

Thomas Rid, a cybersecurity expert at Johns Hopkins University, called the Shadow Brokers episode “the most destructive and costly N.S.A. breach in history,” more damaging than the better-known leak in 2013 from Edward Snowden, the former N.S.A. contractor.

“The government has refused to take responsibility, or even to answer the most basic questions,” Mr. Rid said. “Congressional oversight appears to be failing. The American people deserve an answer.”

I'm unable to move my legs or my arms, which makes it difficult to post here. I have a special stereotaxic device attached to my wheelchair which allows me to control my computer screen with my eyes, and type letters by swallowing and making clicking noises with my mouth.

I accidentally stumbled in here trying to find a website that sold use catheters. I hope you will all welcome me here as part of your family.

I am interested in making new friends, and am open to any advice on how I am supposed to behave here.

HURRY!! YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE THE SATELLITES IN A TRAIN FOR MUCH LONGER!!

SpaceX's new array of Starlink communication satellites has even the most jaded of satellite observers agog with excitement as they move across the sky.

On Thursday evening (May 23), SpaceX launched 60 Starlink satellites into orbit on a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The satellites are in good health and are the first of a planned 12,000-satellite megaconstellation to provide internet access to people on Earth.

The satellites, which are now orbiting at approximately 273 miles (440 km) above the Earth, are putting on a spectacular show for ground observers as they move across the night sky.

A train of SpaceX Starlink satellites are visible in the night sky in this still from a video captured by satellite tracker Marco Langbroek in Leiden, the Netherlands on May 24, 2019, just one day after SpaceX launched 60 of the Starlink internet communications satellites into orbit.

A train of SpaceX Starlink satellites are visible in the night sky in this still from a video captured by satellite tracker Marco Langbroek in Leiden, the Netherlands on May 24, 2019, just one day after SpaceX launched 60 of the Starlink internet communications satellites into orbit.

To the eye, the 60 satellites appear as a "moving train" of moderately faint stars … generally in the magnitude +4 to +5 range, although some observers have reported that a few of the satellites in the train have appeared brighter than this. A magnitude of +6 is generally considered to be the threshold of naked eye visibility under a dark, clear sky.

Initially, the satellites were seen to be stretched out in a straight line measuring roughly 5 to 8 degrees in apparent length. Your clenched fist held at arm's length is roughly equivalent to 10 degrees, so the satellite train currently measures roughly just less than a fist in length as it moves across the sky.

A man was fined £90 for refusing to show his face to police trialing new facial recognition software. The man pulled his jumper up above his chin as he walked past Met Police officers trialing Live Facial Recognition software in east London. BBC cameras filmed as officers swooped on the man, told him to ‘wind his neck in’ then handed him the hefty penalty charge. A campaigner from Big Brother Watch – who were protesting the use of cameras on the day – was also filmed telling an officer: ‘I would have done the same.’ Police said they made three arrests thanks to the cameras on the day in question and a total of eight people, including two 14-year-old boys, were arrested during the course of the trial. Those against the move argue the cameras are a breach of privacy. In the video the man, who has not been named, explains how he was pulled over by an officer who ‘got his back up’.

He told the BBC: ‘I spoke to a man who said, there’s facial recognition down there, so – it’s a cold day – I’ve [pulled my jumper over my mouth] and gone. ‘Police officer’s asked me to come over so I’ve got my back up. ‘I basically told him to f*** off. I said I don’t want my face shown on anything. ‘If I want to cover my face, I’ll cover my face. ‘It’s not for them to tell me not to cover my face. ‘So now I’ve got a £90 fine. Well done.’ The Home Office has previously said facial recognition can be an ‘invaluable tool’ in fighting crime. But campaigners say that as there is no legislation for it in the UK, it is being used without regulation.

He is told by an officer: ‘Wind your neck in.’ A concerned witness asks another officer: ‘What’s your suspicion?’ He tells her: ‘The fact he walked past clearly marked signs for facial recognition and he has covered his face.’ She responds: ‘I would do the same. I would do the same.’ When he tells her it gives police ‘just grounds to stop him’ she says in shock: ‘No it doesn’t.’

Even the faggots in San Francisco, who have never met an over-reaching government they didn't LOVE, can see the slippery slope that Facial Recognition Technology in the hands of big government is already tumbling down, so they banned Law Enforcement from using it with their body cameras.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - A 23-year-old man with a rare condition is fighting for his life after being checked into Oklahoma University Children’s Hospital weighing only 30 pounds.

Now, police are investigating his caretakers. Juanita Wooten, the man’s grandmother, admitted the breaking point was when her grandson got limp.

According to police, he is battling “severe malnutrition and having flu-like symptoms.”

Wooten said she watches him every day while his mother is at work.

In terms of height, she said her grandson only measures up to her shoulder.

His rare neurological condition affects muscles in the face, so he’s unable to care for or feed himself.

Police said doctors were concerned about his body being severely underweight. His mother told police her son was “not on any special kind of nutritional diet and hasn`t been to a doctor in years.”

Lab tests reveal the patient’s “sodium levels were extremely elevated, indicating he had not had adequate amounts of water,” and that he “had sores on his body, which is consistent with lack of mobility.”

"I did not mistreat him or abuse him,” Wooten said, denying allegations against her.

When asked if there was any malnutrition or lack of care, Wooten said, “No, not on our part, but they are acting like there is.”

She clarified she was referring to the state’s Department of Human Services.

Police took more than 150 photos as they searched the home, inside and out.

It’s not clear when the 23-year-old will be released from the hospital.

If only the freedom to drink increased one's overall freedom. Alas, I merely became a slave to the very thing I thought would free me.
