We had holiday lights still sitting on the closet shelf until mid-January, way past the return deadline. No dice returning them. I donated them instead. At least they brightened someone else's décor. Lesson learned: seasonal buys need better calendar reminders or they end up as clutter.

I accidentally held onto a spare power tool box for nearly four months before realizing—it was way beyond the allowed return window, and I really needed the cash. I tried selling it on a local marketplace but got bogged down by lowball offers. I even briefly searched for policy horror stories and stumbled across a detailed user post titled https://lowes.pissedconsumer.com/return-policy.html that walked through the fine‑print traps, like 48‑hour rules for appliances and looming write‑offs after 90 days.
