It's kind of a double-edged sword. On one hand, Sonic brings up a lot of memories for a lot of people (whether it's from the games, comics, cartoons, or even old fanworks like sprite comics) but on the other hand, the franchise has kind of felt like it's been in a holding pattern for most of the 2010s that it feels like the franchise hasn't really moved forward.
It's not something that the series can't escape, but Sonic needs the proper people working on the games to help it escape said holding pattern.

that's because Sonic is. The highest rated Sonic game in 25 years was Mania Plus which looks like something straight out of the 90s. The second highest rated game was one of the CD ports I think. After that it was SA2. Then probably the dreamcast version of SA, Rush, and Advance 1. Maybe Colors is up there somewhere. Most of the games this decade have all been forgettable, mediocre, or spinoffs/mobile games. Sonic has not been doing great.

I have the bigger 5ft version of him. The fabric is good in my opinion. It's probably not as good as the fabric in expensive plushies from renowned brands, but I like the one in mine. The problem with these plushies is that they were carnival prices in their day so they will come stuffed with styrofoam, which is awful. It's hard and not cuddly at all, so you should keep in mind you might need to open him up and stuff him back up with polyester filling, and the styrofoam makes a huge mess.

I think I played either the first or second one on a SEGA Game Gear and had fun, but of course, being a young kid, I gave it away to some asshole I didn't even like all that much. Anyway, that was just my first encounter with Sonic. By the time I began using the Internet, I became more exposed to it; I always kind of liked the designs, and the jokes back on 4chan before the exoduses were always funny. I somewhat recently began looking into it more (Sonic Boom also helped), and the bits of lore I could pick up seemed interesting.
Also, from what I know of Shadow, he seems interesting, and the "edge"that term is extremely overused/normalfag-tier now, hence the quotes…it's hard to explain, but I kind of like it in a way, (at this point, referring to the intro to his game) I think because it's so over the top it's almost satirical, so it's hard to take seriously and you just laugh or smile. Despite that, his backstory, despite being maybe cliched a bit (at least from what I know), is interesting, especially given the preestablished world it's in.
In short, I guess I was always somewhat interested, as with Touhou, among other things.

I won't try. I agree heavily. The man can beat the snot out of someone without even having to touch them, without even having to pick up a weapon or shout some special attack name like a weeaboo, without even having to do more than lift his hand. The dude can fly and do so almost as fast as Sonic at that. Silver can do cool shit and, if he uses his powers right, could be a tough rival or ally for both Sonic and Shadow. The guy could very well stand firmly in their class and for some reason he just doesn't because SEGA wants to make this guy who can make a giant lump of cars to smash on somebody's face weak for some reason. I really want to see his powers be utilized better. I really want to see him be used better as a character but the sad thing is that was attempted once and only once, never again. I feel like videos like this makes me realize why I'd feel like making Sonic fan games over Nintendo ones, even if I really like some Nintendo games. And look, to this day not one Mascot clone has ever reached AAA status because no one can touch or dares to touch Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft. SEGA is on pare with Capcom, Namco and somehow out beating Konami, and Ubisoft is the only thing above them. I still think he works better for an older Sonic. I can't hate him for it, but I'm not happy with him being Sonic's 15 year old voice. That's been my problem for 10 years, and why I made that post.

No he fucking isn't. He sounds WAY too old, he has almost no energy, and he uses the exact same inflection for every single line: sarcastic uninterested douchebag. Shit writing doesn't help, but Sonic games have never had good writing and Drummond/Griffith knew how to make serious lines carry some actual fucking weight. He can't even make funny lines sound decently funny. He's just all-around dull. He's basically a slightly younger-sounding Nathan Drake.
The only defense I ever see for Roger's Sonic voice is that he makes Sonic sound more like a jackass and people apparently think that's the only way his character works, even though he isn't supposed to be, and being intentionally unlikable is still unlikable.
