Why do people always try to debate me when I say I don't like modern Amy or what she stands for, do people really think that the current way she's portrayed and designed is fulfilling the highest potential the character it can have? Even Knuckles had his Chaotix and Tails had his spin offs during the Genesis days, Amy had nothing.

What I want is a character that is as iconic and recognizable as Tails, Knuckles, Sonic, and surpasses Sally, Bunnie, Blaze in usefulness and badassery. She deserves to be more than a fangirl because she's an original addition to the cast and should be treated as such.

Forces really is the game that made me realize how different Sonic design is today than it was in the 90s, when comparing Classic Sonic to the OCs of Forces.

What does getting a spin-off game of dubious quality have to do with the potential of the character? Tails and Knuckles are popular because of how they were portrayed in SONIC's game. All ST had to do was make Amy playable in Sonic CD and make her play well, she would've been just as popular as them.

MAKE HER PLAYABLE IN A GOOD SONIC GAME. The problem is, we're at the point where Sonic Team has fully stopped giving a shit and the fuckin Amy dolls are a clear indication of what the Mania Team thinks of her so who the fuck knows at this point. No, it's not the same aesthetic, but it was the domineering aesthetic, and the aesthetic people are most familiar with and are drawn to the most, mind I'm not taking about the midget shit cutesy Heese designs but actual Classic Sonic which was a little edgy and really really Western with Japanese sensibilities. I hate how homogeneous and plain the designs are now.

I think for some series it works but Sonic works better with the way it was, they could have at least kept its core principle while updating it for contemporary audiences like Mario did.

I'm sorry, but since Blossom is like the most popular Powerpuff Girl out of them all even though Buttercup is better by everyone that knew PPG when it was relevant, I'm going to have do disagree. I know, because I was a fan of Powerpuff girls when I was a child and while I preferred Bubbles at the time, Blossom and then Buttercup were the fan favorites.

Blossom has her orange hair and peach skin to offset from the primary focus of the red and pink, meanwhile Amy's fur is pink and the only clothes she wears are red, I wouldn't really compare the two together – Sakura and Amy have more similarities design-wise… and personality wise with each other.

Yes, I'm aware my writing style is rather distinctive especially on this subject so it's not surprising me there, however, I do not think British Amy is without her flaws. On the contrary, I always take note of her flaws by bringing the lack of them, and saying or at the very least implying there should be a more exciting impish version of her with more of the girlishness her early appearance had.

I don't think any Sonic rendition of any character is completely perfect, hell it's not like that for any children's series.

I still find her crush on Sonic pretty much insignificant like Tails looking up to Sonic all the time that can be downplayed Unless it's like..

I like the idea of Amy trying to get the respect of Sonic and him having a hard time taking her seriously because she has to prove her chops to him like Tails had to prove his chops to Sonic. She would try harder to be accepted in his circle and gradually become independent and do her own thing, unlike trying hard to get his love or whatever corny shit.

I like the idea of her crush has more of an undercurrent of envy and desire to be like him, if anyone remembers, in Sonic Shuffle Amy's truest dream is to be like Sonic, not to be with him, so basically if you wanna pretend its not the result of vapid shit writing, maybe's Amy's obsession with Sonic is because she admires him and can't be like him so she mistakes it for feelings of infatuation and lust and likes to play that up to banter with him or the sort.

Shadow himself is actually designed closely to Sonic, his spines being Super Sonic's spines and all. It makes more sense for people to feel he's out of place because of how he's written and the place he's supposed to take in stories rather than how he looks.

I don't think she's so close to an anime character to the point where it's fair to say she's "weeb trash". I think she fits this series just fine, specially after her redesign, which got rid of her more formal attire and made her look a lot more like the rest of the characters. I can't say the same with Fleetway Amy. If I put her between two other characters, she sticks out like a sore thumb to me, even if she's got a more western design.

You seem to definitely consume more classic stuff than me and care for the depth behind it, but it's peeving when people talk about references in a way that seems so abstract and hard to pin down on concrete things. I didn't comment on the rest of the things you wrote because it wouldn't have gone anywhere, as I would have either asked for references (like with the music, I don't think I've ever seen those genres mentioned in relation to the series before) or challenged stuff that wouldn't have gotten anywhere in the end because of them being minor things (Knuckles' crescent and shoewear). Not exactly sure who you are in the conversation, but I don't think the problem is that people think she's great the current way she is and wouldn't want to change her, it's most likely that people just don't agree with what you'd change. Even in cases where most people would agree a correction is justified, like with her overplayed fanaticism of Sonic, people are going to disagree if you dial it too far back because that's what she's known for and it's a reason that the people that like her like her, even if it's too much at times.

Knuckles design is good because it's iconic and expresses his intent really well, what modern Amy expresses is "im a girl". It's not that good.
