Well maybe I do get a bit expressive about it but I honestly want to have a place to talk about Sonic and content made bby the fans, but it seems really hard for that to happen right now on 4chan. Plus, this place can keep threads up for very long times so it could mean slow threads isn't a worry here compared to 4chan where it could get deleted.

Anyways, I was going through some old articles/videos talking about Sonic X-Treme's development & I wonder what you guys think about the game.

Could it have been a better start for Sonic in 3D than Adventure, could it have saved the SEGA Saturn, or was it gonna be a flop had it been finished?

I cannot say it could have been a flop imo, but it's likely it was going to get about the same opionion of Sonic 3D Blast personally. I honetsly do think if the fishbowl lens was pushed back a bit more and made the game look less distorted though, it might not have been too bad given how the gameplay itself looked rather solid from the videos I've seen of it, which should have been very earlier development work. It looked more polished than 06 ever was. (btw does this site have spoiler functions here or no?)

Still though, I think Sonic Robo Blast is effectively what Sonic Xtreme should have been instead. It's not perfect, but neither is Adventure, and I think Robo Blast 2 is really what I think would have been a much better start into 3D had the idea of Sonic into 3D preceded SM64. One of the oldest ones I've played was this flash game called Ultimate Flash Sonic. It was basically Sonic Advance 2 but played like Sonic Advance 1 but in Adobe Flash. It was honestly well made, although it only have 2 levels with 3 acts (the third act was a boss)

Others I played were Sonic Advanced and Retro Sonic. There's this one called Sonic Dimensions I think which looks like Sonic Rush but with Sonic Advance sprites, basically a "Sonic Advance 4". I think there's another game like this one called Sonic Vs Darkness, both games looked very well polished and visually impressive. You should look these up for yourselves if you're interested.

That's always kinda been the issue with Sonic having it's own board. There's a lot of Sonic content, but it never really needed to be split up into many threads.

I think right now, it makes sense to have a general like this, since there's not a lot of people here, so it makes sense to keep activity in 1-3 threads.
