"pillar" sounds too dumb to be an actual division or permanent dev team, but it could be okay for a codename for an upcoming game, though it sounds stupid to want to hide something behind a codename and at the same time give it public visibility like that. They should explain.

It's likely a new Sonic Team of American. I hope it's actually called Pillar because it would indecate a division for Sonic genres this franchises needed since Sonic 06, really since Adventure but they made do with the Advance games.
Classic Sonic games
Adventure Sonic games
Boost games.

That was in regards to just sticking to the Boost forumla because it's still not as broken down like Sonic 06 got. But that was long before the Sonic Team dissolval, so thing's likely has changed. That man isn't just the head of Sonic, but just a yes man, not the master exec of SEGA. If SEGA says, they do, that's why the movie exists.
Moving to the states should be a clear sign what's happening. Only in the states was the Adventure cry out the strongest, next to the Classics which we got cattered to with Mania.

No it was a response to someone at this year's SXSW panel asking if they will add a team to do Adventure style games like Whitehead/Stealth/Pagoda did Sonic Mania.
Perhaps it's just skepticism, but I really don't think much is gonna change with a production move to America unless everyone at the head is replaced and I haven't gotten any impression that they are.

I'm not even stating they are going a "new deticated team" to do Adventure stuff, I'm stating they are just going to collab within staff to make Classic, Adventure esque games which is likely going to mix in the Boost gameplay with it. They aren't going to make 2 types of 3D games and 1 2D game, that's dumb. 2D is far too serperate to keep mixing in with the 3D game styles, as everyone bitched about at SEGA to stop doing. So we are getting pure 2D content SEPERATE from 3D Sonic all together. There's no point even dissolving all of Sonic Team if they were going to do what they did in the pass. They are doing something drastict, completely left field after many years sticking to the same shit for 10 years.
I'm not even saying any of this will fix Sonic or make good games at all, just stating this movement would make zero sense if all this was going to do is continue making Sonic Forces 2s and Runner like sequels instead of moving towards better directions.
