I don't think I've jerked off in about 2 months (bar one time at work where I was too frustrated to think straight). I stopped because I had no clue how damaging excessive masturbation was for maintaining a normal erection when you need it.
At this point I think my penis has pretty much regained it's normal sensitivity and I don't even crave porn anymore.

I'm strongly considering going back to college, and then eventually to uni, to study to become a physiotherapist. I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy it, and I think having some concrete goals to work towards would be good for me. Hopefully I'd be able to fit my course days around work, and there are loans and grants available for the courses I'd be doing, so financially there should be no problems. If I don't do something I'll be a retail lad forever.

It's always seemed to me that lads going into physiotherapy is the male equivalent to girls going into hair & beauty / fashion design. It's like the lads realise they'll never be top footballers, and the girls realise they'll never be famous pop stars / fashion models, so they go for the next best thing, only to end up back in retail or NEET at the end of it because everyone else had the same idea.
That or I just have a biased perspective because my physiotherapy uni graduate cousin is still a retail lad after several years and my hairdressing dropout sister briefly became a waitress at the local pub restaurant for a few months before becoming a stay-at-home mum.

To expand on this, Behringer have always been a low end "pro" audio gear manufacturer, and have a several decade long reputation of putting out cheaply made shite that breaks easily or just doesn't work well, but recently they've supposedly gotten a lot better. Even more recently, they've been tapping into the resurging analogue synth market, and managed to completely BTFO Moog (top end synth pioneer since the 60s) by releasing a fully analogue Minimoog (very famous 70s monosynth that has been reissued within the last few years) clone for 1/12th of the original price (£300 VS around £3500), and it sounds absolutely identical to the original, with some neat extra features.
Today it has been revealed that they're doing the same to Roland by bringing out a fully analogue 808 clone (all Roland has ever bought out is mediocre digital simulations), expected to come out later this year, and I suspect it'll probably around the same price tag as their Minimoog clone. It just so happens that I very recently spent 2 months building my own fully analogue 808 clone, which sounds great but has buggy firmware that'll probably never be updated, and has a few other problems that I haven't got around to fixing, for about £900.

>88-key hammer-action MIDI keyboard
https://www.thomann.de/gb/master_keyboards_up_to_88_keys.html?feature-12037=true&filter=true
88 keys is what a typical grand piano has, and "hammer-action" is so that the keys behave more like a grand piano, so they have a real weight to them and don't immediately spring back up like typical keyboards if you do staccato and stuff. MIDI keyboards don't have their own internal sound generation, they are simply digital controllers that send out note-on, note-off, velocity, footpedal, etc. data, so if you want to hear anything you have to connect it up to a PC, or some other sound generation hardware that takes MIDI input (synthesizers, drum machines, etc).
Because PC motherboard sound hardware is usually complete shite, you'll want to get an audio interface as well if you don't have one already. Something like https://www.thomann.de/gb/focusrite_scarlett_2i2_2nd_gen.htm will do nicely.
Alternatively, you could go for a digital piano instead, which will have it's own sample-based sound generation, internal speakers, headphone amp, and usually a stand, sheet holder, and a set of pedals as well. You can also find bundles which will also throw in a seat and a pair of headphones. I'm not that familiar with them, but it looks like they often come with MIDI / MIDI-over-USB, so hooking it up to a PC is still possible. Could be a better option if you want a slightly more "plug-and-play" experience, although it'll be more limiting if you want to eventually go the production route rather than purely pianist route.
https://www.thomann.de/gb/compact_digital_pianos.html
>decent pair of headphones
For headphones I recommend a pair of Sennheiser HD-25s if you want a great, full frequency spectrum sound for low-ish cost, but they are "on ear" rather than "over ear", which some people find uncomfortable. Can't say I've ever liked the sound of any over ear headphones personally, but you can rarely go wrong with Sennheiser.
>monitors
https://www.thomann.de/gb/active_nearfield_monitors.html
Generally, bigger is better, smaller ones lack bass compared to larger ones, but it depends on your budget / space constraints. "Active" means each monitor has it's own amplifier inside it, so you don't need an external amplifier or have to worry about impedance matching, wattages, etc. You just plug straight into them from your audio interface / instrument / mixer / whatever outputs. I definitely recommend active over passive monitors.
>pianoteq
https://www.pianoteq.com/home
This is a bit of software than generates the sound of acoustic pianos (and other instruments if you buy the add-ons) in real-time using physical modelling synthesis ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_modelling_synthesis ), using no samples whatsoever, and it sounds amazing. Can be used as a standalone .exe or as a VST/AU/AAC plugin, so if you don't have a DAW you can still use it.
Let me know what you decide on, I can help you pick out the right cables and other things that you might need.

He may be true or kind,
But he does not talk my talk–
I cannot feel his mind.
I see the face and the eyes and the mouth,
But not the soul behind.
The men of my own stock,
They may do ill or well,
But they tell the lies I am wanted to,
They are used to the lies I tell;
And we do not need interpreters
When we go to buy or sell.
The Stranger within my gates,
He may be evil or good,
But I cannot tell what powers control–
What reasons sway his mood;
Nor when the Gods of his far-off land
Shall repossess his blood.
The men of my own stock,
Bitter bad they may be,
But, at least, they hear the things I hear,
And see the things I see;
And whatever I think of them and their likes
They think of the likes of me.
This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf–
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

>Would pedals come with a MIDI or would I have to set that up some other way?
Forgive my pedantry lad, but MIDI is the name of the protocol. You mean a MIDI keyboard, which is a keyboard that outputs MIDI data.
MIDI keyboards don't come with foot pedals, you have to buy them separately. They typically have a single 1/4" jack foot pedal input, so you can only use one pedal, and the majority of sustain pedals out there will only be read as either "open" or "closed" (although I've just found out they're completely capable of behaving like continuous controllers with a simple wiring modification, which would allow you to do half-pedalling or use it as an expression pedal). If having 2 or 3 grand piano style pedals is important to you, get a digital piano. If you can live with just using a single sustain pedal that functions as an on/off switch (unless you're handy with a multimeter and/or a soldering iron), then go with a MIDI keyboard.
And on that note, it looks like my next project is rewiring my sustain pedal so it works as an expression pedal.

The "pedal" looks like it's just a footswitch, and the piano is likely a generic chinese model that music shops can slap their own name onto. There's no telling if the build quality, the action, or the sound generation are actually any good (ignore amazon review plebs, they always have really low standards).
If you're dead serious about learning piano and/or becoming a pianist, go with a well-known digital piano manufacturer like Yamaha or Roland (or Kawai if you've got the dosh), with 3 pedals and half-pedalling capabilities on the sustain pedal at the very least. Remember though, this is if you want to be a pianist, not a keyboard player or a producer.

It seems good value because that's an auction with 0 bids, I imagine it will jump up to the £500 - £600 mark of previous listings before it's over. It also seems to be a model from 2002, which means the sound engine is probably not as good as more modern digital pianos, and looking through the manual I see that the pedals are all the "on/off" type.

Lad, they pretty much start at £500, anything less will be a compromise in one or more key areas. The prices also vary a lot depending on where you look, Amazon prices are often higher than music gear specialist stores, and they try to jew you out by pretending they're almost out of stock.
Assuming you'd prefer the cheaper options, Yamaha have the Arius series, which start from about £520~ with the YDP-103, or they have the DGX-660 for £650~ which is a digital piano / keyboard hybrid. Roland have the RP102 for about £680~. None of these include a seat, so you'll either have to go for a bundle or buy one separately if you want one. Also be warned that the trend these days is to keep the physical UI very minimal, and have all the UI functions be more easily accessible in an external mobile app. Yamaha typically only support iOS, whereas Roland support both iOS and Android, so that might be something you want to take into account when buying.

It's not hard to play with a sustain pedal, in fact with a small bit of practice I think you'll actually find it's harder to play without one, because you currently have to hold down notes for their entire duration and only have a split second to move to the next lot. With a sustain pedal, you can play notes that need to be held down for longer durations in staccato, while still having them ring out until you take your foot off, meaning you'll free up your hands and get more time to move into position for upcoming notes.
The pedal you linked will function as an "on/off" switch, so you won't be able to apply different levels of sustain (if your keyboard even supports that). You can tell because it has a TS (tip-sleeve) jack rather than a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) jack, so you'd either have to replace the cable yourself with a bit of soldering, or buy a needlessly expensive one if you want it to behave more like a real acoustic piano sustain pedal. Most music doesn't use half-pedaling to be fair, but it will allow for more expressive playing, and I believe some (mostly romantic era) music does use it.
I also don't see any mention of a polarity switch, which means it might open and close the wrong way around with some keyboards. You could always just turn the keyboard on while holding the pedal down with your foot, which will make it work invertedly, but I think it's worth paying a couple of quid extra just so you never have to do that. I have this pedal, which is decent quality and has a polarity switch underneath: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00063678K/

How many times have you seen imageboard posters talk about how they eventually ended up looking at trannies, or worse? With how widespread porn consumption is in our society it makes me wonder how many gays are naturally that way or whether they've rewired their brain by going down the slippery slope of endless novelty-seeking porn abuse.
Also speaking from experience, after an extended period of NoPorn, the weird tastes disappeared. Now if the lad you're replying to still gets homosexual urges then it's quite likely he is in fact a bender, or at the very least bisexual, but if they disappeared when he stopped indulging them he probably isn't.

A sustain pedal works like this: if your foot is not on the pedal, and you press a note (think of this like plucking a guitar string) and you immediately let go of it, the note stops dead (think of this like firmly placing your hand on the string to silence it). If your foot is on the pedal, and you press and let go of a note, it will continue to decay as if you were still holding it (imagine strumming guitar strings and never using your hand/fingers to stop them from ringing out). It will do the same for any other notes you press until you take your foot off, at which point any and all notes that are ringing out while not being held will stop dead.
If the notes are ringing out when you're not pressing down the pedal, you've either got sustain permanently turned on in the settings, or the keyboard expects the pedal action to be inverted.

I know that, I was just asking about that particular piece of music, and whether that's how the pedal is generally used. It seems intuitive to me but I wanted to clarify. You wouldn't want the chords or melody of a previous bar ringing out over a new one, would you?

You're exactly right. I've gone in depth about my experience numerous times (which is somewhat similar to yours), as well as seen and spoken to plenty of other lads who've gone through the same thing. However, the idea that out of control masturbation habits can take people down a dark path, and that it's possible to undo the damage, clearly goes against the "all people of all sexual preferences/perversions were simply born this way, ONE OF US- I mean THEM" narrative, and that makes a certain poster here very unhappy. Watch out, or he'll "no u" you too.

PAL versions are usually shit, always go with the NTSC version (unless it's Gamecube/Wii because 99% of their games supported 60Hz).
Speaking of PAL vs NTSC, I don't know where the meme started where people say "hurr developers modify the timing on PAL releases so the speed matches the NTSC version", because it's pretty much never been true, unless the game has a dedicated 60Hz mode, or you're just talking about the BGM. Virtually every single PAL game, running at 50Hz, plays almost 20% slower than the NTSC version, no matter what generation it's from or where the game was made. Even worse, when it came to FMVs, they had to either apply inverse telecine to the frames (which creates horrible, juddery playback and interlace artifacts), or timestretch the audio, in order to sync it up to 25/50fps. They'd apply it to the already rendered and compressed NTSC version, so it would be compressed twice. So FMVs either looked like shit, or sounded like shit.
The meme that PAL games were higher resolution is a joke as well, every single one of them just had black bars to pad out a 480i/240p image into 576i/288p, which made it the wrong aspect ratio as well. People also say that PAL colour was more accurate than NTSC, which is technically true, but if you used anything better than composite then even that argument was null and void, especially seeing as every PAL region console and TV that wasn't ancient as fuck supported RGB SCART, meaning they didn't use PAL or NTSC colour encoding/decoding.
PAL games a shit.

No I didn't, I've mentioned him a couple of times before. There was a dorky lad from school that I would talk to on msn, who I also helped to make music, and we would shitpost musically to each other as well as talk about the world, technology, philosophy, etc. Occasionally he would come round my house and sit at his laptop while I sat at my computer, but a lot of the time he wouldn't turn up, and then he'd disappear for a couple of weeks/months. So I'd just sit there waiting for him to arrive all night, only to find out a couple of weeks later (when he came out of hiding) that he allegedly just went to bed and decided not to turn his laptop on for a fortnight, or something like that. This happened several times, so eventually I stopped inviting him.
Then he fucked off to swansea for uni for about 3 months, before coming back due to mental health issues. From what I could piece together from what little he told me, he slit his wrists and smeared the blood all over his dorm room. Then he was NEET/hikki like me for a couple years, so we had that in common too. There was also this one time where things got a bit heated and I threw a kitchen knife at him, but the less said about that the better. I last met up with him in 2012, and around that time he purged his belongings and gave me loads of his stuff for free, including a gamecube, a CRT monitor, and an old FM synthesizer.
At some point not long after that, we fell out of contact with each other, largely because msn died, and now I don't even know where he lives or if he's still alive or not. In retrospect, considering how unhealthy the whole "friendship" was on both sides, I'm not sure I even want to contact him. It was nice having someone who was interested in similar things to myself, and had been through similar experiences, to shitpost with though.

Alright, basically he was in my room and he was playing this awful loud noise repeatedly on his laptop, and he was doing it on purpose just to piss me off, while bearing a huge shit-eating grin on his face. Eventually it went way past the point of being funny and I told him to stop, but he carried on. I threatened to use physical force to make him stop, and he carried on, I punched him in the arm, he carried on, then I threw a fairly large and weighty drum stand at him, and he still carried on.
My options were clearly running out, and I was getting really frantic and anxious to either make the noise stop or make him leave. I went downstairs and grabbed the kitchen knife, and I just sort of threw it into the room as a warning. Not anywhere near him of course, obviously I wasn't actually going to actually stab him. At that point, I think he got genuinely scared, and went downstairs to make his escape. However, I had already locked all the doors down there and hidden the keys as sort of a "fuck you too". Eventually I think he climbed through one of the downstairs windows, grabbed his bike and ran away.
I sincerely apologised to him afterwards on msn, but he didn't really seem to care so we just moved on like it never happened.

I guess, but this was years ago when I was still (just about) a teenager, I've not done anything like that since. When I was in school it was a different matter.
I remember in year 7 we were on a school trip where we stayed somewhere for several days, and I got a bit too hyper on the first night and started throwing some lad's belongings out the window. Once I was done with that I started lobbing other things out like the bin and the curtains. The next day everyone got gathered into a room and got sternly told off for it, the teachers even cancelled one of the events because of it. As a sidenote, I didn't go to the toilet for the several days we were there, because I had a phobia about public toilets.
There were lots of incidents like this throughout my school years, I'm surprised I wasn't diagnosed sooner.

It depends on your living situation and how debilitated they think you are, but yeah it's generally pretty low. I live with my mum and I'm dependent on her, so when I was in the "work support" group I got about £400 month, but now in the "not fit for work" group and I get about £500 a month (£200 of which I give to my mum).

That's strange, I wonder why they don't recognise them when it's an official diagnosis? I have a long history of depression, so maybe I could use that. >What are you lads doing
I've been researching audio gear for several weeks because I want to replace my shitty old mixer and/or audio interface, but I'm getting nowhere. I just can't believe it costs a grand or two just to get a basic setup with 16+ line ins and outs. Apparently it's somehow an order of magnitude more expensive than having 8 bloody mic preamps (you can get a basic 8 mic preamp audio interface for about £250, I have one but it's started failing on me and I never really liked it to begin with), even though line ins are essentially the same thing but with less circuitry and components.
Who the fuck even needs 8 mic pres on an audio interface? If you've got a studio big enough to mic up a drum kit (which is the only commonly recorded thing that requires that many mics), you'll have the money (and space) to buy a proper big boy mixing console with 24+ mic pres, and maybe a couple of extra fancy ones in a rack. Bedroom/home producers rarely ever need more than one or two mics, but what we really need is a fuck ton of line ins and outs so we can piss around with all our line level instruments and outboard gear inside a DAW, and record each individual output separately.
10 years ago it was a different landscape, everything had moved in-the-box, and the only external gear remaining was microphones, but since then there's been a large shift in the home producer world back to external synths and outboard gear, and it's time audio interface manufacturers cottoned on to this trend. I simply can't believe that in the current year, there isn't a basic £200 - £400 audio interface with just a fuck ton of line ins/outs. It can definitely be done, and there's definitely a demand for it. Behringer, comment?

They will stay where they are until they die. You know as well as I do that people like yourself are anomalies, and don't represent anything close to the average wageslave, not here and not anywhere.
Just because something's possible doesn't mean it's commonplace or easily accomplished. Back to the original topic though, despite having a very low "income", I do actually have more than enough money saved up to buy the setup I want, I'm just a tight arse that likes to spend months/years researching and debating what to get so I can spend as little money as possible yet still get something good. I especially don't like being ripped off, and the audio world is the worst for that.

You're not going to play for the national football team when you're still getting the hang of dribbling, and you're not going to play Liszt when you've got a 61-key kiddy keyboard and just discovered how a sustain pedal works. Spend your time less wastefully by practicing something that's realistically attainable, like Bach or Mozart.

Look at the very first chord very carefully, when you notice you'll realise it's an intentionally impossible to play piece written for a piano roll / MIDI sequencers, or at the very least it would require more than two hands to play it.

I generally don't like much of what Chris Evans does, however I've listened to a lot of him as it's what my parents listen too in the house, and I've always thought he was a good interviewer. I'm not sure on his actual views but he always seems interested in what people he's talking to have to say, and never interrupts them.
It was quite enjoyable.

>After the movie, our friend Samantha came to take us to our friend Rob's house to smoke more. By the time she arrived, I was speaking mostly nonsense. I felt like I was talking normally, but neither of them could understand, so it was kind of frustrating. We got in Sam's car. On the ride I thought I was smoking a cigarette, but I kept dropping it and then I wouldn’t be able to find it. This would continue for the next three days. We got to Rob's house and they all smoked another blunt. They didn't give me any, but I didn’t notice, I was still smoking my imaginary cigarettes and speaking gibberish. I went into Rob's bathroom and tried to pee again. In my mind I still couldn't pee. From what I found out later, I actually peed all over the floor and the walls. I also took all of his family's toothbrushes and put them in my pocket. I do not know why. They all went outside to smoke another blunt and I did too. As they were smoking, I wandered away and they found me about an hour later in a neighbor's yard talking to a pine tree. I do not remember why.

Is there anything in this world worse than this? I can forgive the odd spelling mistake here and there, but when ESLs repeatedly butcher the grammar it just becomes painful to read, and I can feel my braincells dying off while trying to decipher all the nonsense. Id constitude anything with nudity in it, or designed specifically for mastubatory purposes. I don't really porn is the big issue, I think its more of the dopamine loop and wanking itself. While im trying to avoid porn, I don't consider seeing it the end of the world.

I just use mpc-hc + windows explorer. I've always had a hatred for "music library" software like itunes/foobar/etc, as well as photo album/image library software. They're completely redundant, all they do is give you a very misleading impression of your file structure in the most bloated way possible, leading to bad computer habits and making it even more difficult for computer plebs to understand what's going on under the hood. This has been the bane of my life when it comes to helping family members with computer problems, because they don't understand the difference between the software's own virtual folders, and their computer's actual file structure, leading to extra confusion and needless overcomplication.

A few months back I moved some files from an old PC which had been moved on to that PC from an even older PC. This was all for mummy and I didn't give it much thought, I guess I assumed she's an old woman information hoarding, seemed like a lot of photos and not much else, anyway today I was using an external hard-drive and found that some of the content was stored on it, I couldn't help but notice a folder called 'asbergers' with some files in it such as
>Anon's reaction to his school report.doc
>Croydon asperger syndrome support group.doc
tbh, a lot of it was really hard to read, I don't remember very much of this time but from the documents (written by mummu, primary school teachers and social workers) I get the impression It was accepted that I was a uniquely difficult child.
The folder contained another folder called
>Anons stories and pictures
Inside this one there were some stories I wrote from the ages of 6 to 10 and some pictures I guess I made at about the same age.
It never began for me did it lads? Mummu must have been monitoring my activity on the familtyPC and submitting it as evidence to the social workers, feel mugged off but I do love the idea of me raging in the assessment room (which is apparently what I always did) as some psychology cunt looks at these from behind the one way mirror.

I'd leave her be. She's clearly found her place in life.

I wasn't the person who replied lad. All he posted was a picture of an ape and you got in a mess. I didn't even say I was for or against abortion.

No such thing as favourites with me, but I do have little things I like to use a lot. I like flipping between major and minor in unusual ways, like switching back and forth between Cm7 and CM7, or between Cm7 and Am7, for instance. I also really, really like 5th, 9th, and sus2 chords. With chords like those (harmonious chords that lack a clear major or minor indicator) you can pretty much fire off a random sequence of them, and they'll almost always sound great.

The only one I've licked was as pure as the driven snow.

Still though lad, subordinating yourself to a woman like that? You must have really liked her. On top of that the idea of it is just a bit gross.
