Yes, it's a programming language. I am still a beginner, but from what I've found it doesn't just go in straight away, so you shouldn't expect it to; the important thing is constant practice and repetition.

Same here, I tried to learn Python a couple of years ago but it just wasn't happening. It was one headache after another, with never-ending frustration and little to no success.
I came to the conclusion that I simply wasn't cut out for it, in the same way that some people trying to learn music are tone-deaf, or some people trying to play a sport have terrible motor control. Sure, they could practice non-stop and end up being "okay", but they would likely be better suited to a different field entirely.

Really glad I started running. I implore you lads to do it, it's literally what our bodies were designed to do, so it makes sense that it would make you feel good. If you're really unfit you can try out something like this; and in general, take it slowly, and even if you only make 5 seconds worth of progress each time, you've still done better than before. Hope I don't come across as preachy or anything, but you'll see what I mean if you manage to get into it.

Good on you mate, running will probably do wonders for your mind and body in the long run.
However, I would say the majority of people, even the normiest of normies don't have the confidence to start running in public, and some people posting here may not even be able to go outside by themselves at all right now. I couldn't bring myself to leave the front door by myself for about 9 years, until a few months ago.
I'll be sticking with walking a couple of times a week myself. It's certainly better than nothing, and I think pushing myself as hard as running does would just make me less likely to keep it up on a regular basis.

I actually do it on a treadmill at the gym - Pure Gym, to be exact. It's a total normie gym, but they have all the basic equipment, and it's extremely cheap. I usually just set my pace, put my headphones in, and zone out. Treadmills are better for the joints, and there's zero chance of anyone ever getting in your way - or even bothering you at all - because everybody is just focusing on their own workout.

Pretty much, some languages handle some stuff for you, and others you do it yourself (Garbage collection) and some things you need to be careful with memory usage otherwise you'll blow up the RAM (Sandboxed languages vs non sandboxed languages) but otherwise everything is pretty similar with different syntax. When I was programming a lot more, I found that I could easily pick up another language, as long as I had a cheat sheet for a couple of hours when starting off.
Now that I havent programmed for like a year and a bit, I'm completely thrown off though, it's definitely something you need to keep up.

I did that not too long ago with my completely inactive account, and all there was to see were photos my grandma had taken of me uploaded without my consent of course. Then I did my best to shutdown my account.
I never did the whole "social" thing at any point in my life, as soon as I left school at 16 I lost all contact with everyone except for one person who was also a depressed NEET outcast. Even then, I haven't really spoken to him in the last 3 or 4 years.
The vast majority of my days in the 7 years since leaving school have been spent right here at my computer, with my only human interaction being the rare conversation with my family. There are no photos of me with friends, at parties, or anything like that, so if anyone that remembered me from school wanted to look me up and see what I've been doing with my life, it would be almost as if I had vanished off the face of the earth without a trace.
In some ways, knowing this gives me peace of mind, in a "fuck you societal norms and surveillance culture" kind of way. But at the same time, it's a painful reminder of my own life's underachievement and my inability to fit in and get on in the world around me. It adds more fuel to an already overbearing feeling of being a disappointment to people that wanted / expected more from me.
While the thought that I could have done a lot more with my life by now has been eating me up inside for years, I've recently been trying to not let my past stop me from improving myself in the present. I don't care if I have a chance or not any more, I just want to make it.
I've spent too long writing this, and now it's 3am, so I think I'll go to bed. Goodnight guys.

I know those feels well, although it's been a while. I spent many years wallowing in depression, loneliness, hopelessness, despair and self-pity before I came across a different way of thinking.
What I've learnt to do now is think of all the normies with friends and relationships who are miserable, unfulfilled, paranoid, who split up, get divorced, commit suicide, etc.
The fact that even a normie with an active sex life, numerous past relationships, a car, a job, 39 friends to wish them happy birthday, etc. can still be deeply unhappy makes me realise that just "having a girlfriend" would not guarantee I would become happy myself.

What I'm able to do now is stop assuming and believing that I need to rely on having other people in my life provide me with "happiness". Something as simple as that alleviates a lot of pressure, stress, depression and feelings of loneliness, which ironically helps me a feel a lot happier as a result.

I can personally attest that even the most disastrous of sleeping patterns can be fixed unless you have a chronic disorder like narcolepsy or something, in which case go get the bennies.
It takes a bit of work, doing things like forcing yourself to not still be on the internet at this time of night, letting some light come in through your curtains or blinds so your body can correct it's circadian clock, keeping to a solid bedtime and wakeup routine, and learning some deep relaxation / meditation techniques to help you nod off. But it can definitely be done, even if it seems unimaginable right now.
I went from being non-24 for 7 years to having a fairly regular sleep pattern for the last 6 months or so.
Beyond that, I don't know if you'll "be able to have a normal 9-5 job". I've never had a job either.

Ever since I got back from holiday in early July however I've been getting really shit marks, usually getting 4 or 5 crosses a week. It needs to stop, but my impulses have become so overpowering and controlling recently. My dad has always been like a best friend to me anyway. After my parents split up when I was 7 I would go to his house every weekend until I was about 16, and we'd always go to places, play games, work on small projects at home, stuff like that.
I gradually started going there less and less often until it was about once every month, but since he moved house a few weeks ago and his girlfriend split up with him I've been going there every weekend. It's a lot better than just sitting here in my room anyway.

One of the more awful experiences that comes to mind was during a family party at my dad's house when I was about 16. I usually avoided everyone at all costs on these occasions, and would go upstairs out of the way to play on the computer until everyone had left. This time I was playing Half-Life 2: Episode Two, and my 15 year old twin cousins (both boys) were watching, but they used to watch me play games fairly regularly since I was very young so that wasn't a big deal.
Then, up comes my 14 year old sister, her skanky friend from school, and some female third cousin or something who I believe was the same age as me she was really pretty too, which only made things worse burst into the room, and sat on the bed behind me, and I honestly couldn't move. I paused the game and just sat there in silence staring at the screen, while they all jeered "come on anon, play the game. why isn't he playing the game? can't you talk anon? weeeiiiird!" and other not particularly helpful remarks, with plenty of giggling in-between, all the while my cousins former respect for me was probably sinking like the Titanic.
Then after what felt like an hour, even more family members started walked in, thinking this was just the place where everyone was hanging out. And I just continued to sit there, not moving a muscle, staring at the pause screen of HL2:E2 in silence.
Eventually they all left, and I don't really remember what happened after that. I think I cried myself to sleep that night.

Fuck man, it's imagining these sorts of things happening to me because they usually do that is still preventing me from going to the shops.
I'm reminded of the first time I tried to use a bus, again when I was about 16 a pretty bad year for me all round.
I walked in, and the driver put his hand out, so I put my money in his hand, and then he and everyone else on the bus just stared at me blankly for ages. Then after about 20 seconds of silence, except for some audible sighing from people on board and in the queue behind me, the driver finally said "…are you going to tell me where you're going or not?". Like I was supposed to know that's what I needed to do just by him staring at me. To top it off, there were other lads from my year on the bus, and they just sat there laughing at me. I really wanted to disappear in that moment.
My next encounter with buses was when I was 17, when my mum took me on some to "show me how easy it was" so I could use them instead of her taking me in the car to get to college. Needless to say, we accidentally ended up in the middle of town, and the only thought going through my head was "please don't bump into anyone that knows me". Of course, this being me, I managed to bump into the exact group of girls from a different school that I had recently been talking to on msn, who saw me IRL for the first time following my mum around like a child. Again, I really wanted to disappear in that moment.

CBT = Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
The gist of it is, if you change your behaviour, you will change your thoughts, which will change your emotions, which in turn will reinforce your ability to continue carrying out that behaviour, and so on.
So if you have a fear of leaving the house, you start by going in the garden (the new behaviour) for just 20 seconds, then a minute, then two, then five, etc. Then eventually you progress on to walking around the block for 5 minutes, then 10, then 15. Now the formerly impossible task of leaving the house is made possible, because the anxiety (the emotion) has gotten weaker and weaker each time.
There is one problem with CBT though. It is only effective if the person is able to push themselves into taking action in the first place, which sometimes doesn't happen in the more extreme cases.
