Me. The town I live in is postmodern as fuck, everything is artificial and the town is completely culture-less, to the point where it feels inhuman.

Every building and residential area has a stupid gimmick that gets old after a year or two, nothing feels comfy, homely or beautiful, the lakes are fake, the hills are fake, the streetlights look awful and the sky is lit up at night because there's far too many of them and they all face upwards, 20% of the population here was born outside of the UK, and over a quarter of them are black or asian.

I hate it. I don't even feel like I'm in the same country as everyone else.

However it does mean I get to appreciate more traditional British cities, towns and villages more than most people.

I started with going in the garden for 3 minutes, then 10, and so on until I could do it for 2 hours. Then I began walking around the block, first going a third of a mile, then gradually imcreasing my distance to 1 mile, 2 miles, and now I can easily do 4 or 5. I also took my family up on offers to go outside more.

All these things have decreased my social anxiety and fear of leaving the house massively (although not completely, but that's normal), which allows me to push myself even further outside my "comfort zone".

Yeah when I'd been doing it for years on end it was just "normal", but once I started living a bit more actively there became a noticeable difference between how I felt on days where I had been outside and days where I've been on the PC from start to finish.

It's a kind of trance-like state where my brain feels like mashed potato and I just feel kind of dead inside. On my more active days I can feel my blood pumping around my body (it's a pleasant tingly sensation) and a deep sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.

Decided to say fuck you to summer last night, It's now autumn in my room and I've got my fur blanket on my bed and I sat watching movies all cuddled up in the dark. Was super comfy, and I was asleep before 12.

On a related note, this is my last terry pratchett, whenever I lose a passion for reading it's always during one of his books and while I somewhat enjoy them, they're not brilliant. I feel like he just comes up with a stupid idea for a fantasy world that sounds amusing then drags them on for 300 pages, when they would probably work better as short stories.
