Journalling? I've heard good things about that, but I also have a problem with writing. I bought a journal for myself way back at the start of the year thanks to another anon's suggestion, but I still haven't written a single word in it.

CBT = Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

The gist of it is, if you change your behaviour, you will change your thoughts, which will change your emotions, which in turn will reinforce your ability to continue carrying out that behaviour, and so on.

So if you have a fear of leaving the house, you start by going in the garden (the new behaviour) for just 20 seconds, then a minute, then two, then five, etc. Then eventually you progress on to walking around the block for 5 minutes, then 10, then 15. Now the formerly impossible task of leaving the house is made possible, because the anxiety (the emotion) has gotten weaker and weaker each time.

There is one problem with CBT though. It is only effective if the person is able to push themselves into taking action in the first place, which sometimes doesn't happen in the more extreme cases.

No, I mean like my mind goes completely blank when faced with a blank page, and I struggle to bring myself to put pen to paper. Not heard of that before, but I can relate with it a lot due to asperger's.

Every time I see a doctor / therapist / whoever, they ask me "how are you feeling?" or "what are your thoughts?", and I just don't have an answer. They are never satisfied with "I dunno." either, even though it's the absolute truth.
