I think that using drugs at all to treat any type of mental illness is a temporary solution at best, and permanently damaging at worst. Considering how doctors are still shilling SSRIs to people despite all evidence pointing to them not working as intended and in many cases causing more serious problems such as chronic depression, then even if they began prescribing shrooms or something I still wouldn't trust them.

If you mean just buying them off the internet and trying to "cure" yourself with them, I think that's even more of a minefield. All you have to go off are the anecdotes of various other brain-altered-by-drugs people, it's certainly not something I personally would be willing to toy around with.

Who, random people that advocate psychedelic usage to try and solve mental illnesses? It's not that they lie, it's that they're not qualified enough to know what they're talking about. They have no idea about the chemical makeup of what they're taking or how pure it is, their own biology, etc., and as the subject of their own mind-altering experiments they have absolutely no objectivity or impartiality. They are very likely to be completely unaware of any internal or hidden side-effects, and the long-term consequences.

I have no reason to trust anything they say, and I'm certainly not going to risk my own mind and body based on their proclaimed experiences. I'd be interested in seeing the results, but I think it's difficult to classify something like the effects of shrooms as strictly positive or negative. I'm sure they do a great job of making people feel more content and happy inside, but what about having the appropriate emotional response to your immediate environment and the world around you? Isn't depression a rational response to certain situations, where you'd have to be completely deluded or on drugs to feel otherwise?

Many shroomers say that they "feel" like they have a better spiritual understanding and stronger connection with the universe, but how might that affect their ability to make good financial decisions, their moral values, or their political views? I think the first thing that stands out is how fun the combat is, the enemies hit hard and the dodging and parrying feels satisfying because of it, and there's a lot of variety in the weapons, at least as the game goes on. Theres heavy stuff like hammers and axes, one handed broadswords and two handed claymores. I've found a lightning wand, although theyre seemingly rare, there's also spears, which have a long reach and are super fast, currently my second favourite weapon type. Finally boomerangs, they feel really satisfying. You have to actually time the button press to catch them when they come back or they go flying of behind you.

There's a lot of mechanics you'd seen in a ubisoft game, there's towers you climb to reveal the map, but they dont unlock a bunch of shit like they did in far cry, and they dont actually tell you where anything is, just give you the basic lay of the land, they do help for surveying stuff yourself though. They can also actually be challenging to get up, since you have to balance stamina while climbing and make it to the right ledges. So far ive found one covered in thorns so I had to be careful about where I actually climbed, and one with Beam enemies at the bottom so I had to constantly move around to get out of their range, was pretty fun.

Depending on how into zelda you are, the next part will make more sense. I've just done the first dungeon, and it was a little different. I had to activate 5 things in the dungeon and it was very open plan, theres one main room, with 3 or 4 levels, a few various ledges etc, then there's 2 or 3 side rooms and thats it. If I hadnt got stuck on one puzzle (which had an obvious solution once Id done it) it would have only taken be like 30 minutes.

The more traditional style of puzzles are in shrines though. It feels like theyve just removed the bloat from dungeons where you have to go find keys in chests and then come back, not one key in this dungeon.

Very little in combat in dungeons and shrines too, at least so far. I think this is because theres more of it in the open world now.

I think the one thing that makes the open world great is a lack of waypoints for enemy camps and stuff, when you stumble upon them it genuinely feels like that, you have no idea whats over the next hill or around a corner, even if you have climbed the tower.

Honestly doesn't sound that appealing to me personally. I'm much more of a fan of the old 2D Zelda games, but the one thing I loved about Ocarina of Time was the temples/dungeons; figuring out the puzzles, navigating through the labyrinth-like levels, collecting keys, etc. It was kind of like the early Tomb Raider games, which I've always adored. On the other hand, the thing I hated most about OoT was running around the overworld and the silly sidequest stuff, but it sounds like they've made this one mostly those things and not so much the previous things.

Good news for once. Through intermittent effort since 2012, i've gone from being long term NEET with little qualifications and even littler prospects to being functional in a comfy job.
