As someone who is also underweight but has always had scheduled meals, you'll want to add "eat more during those meals, and eat snacks like fruit, nuts, etc. in between if you can" onto that. I've found scheduled meals to help digestion a lot, but it never did anything for gaining weight alone.

I feel like I'm eating a lot too, but I think what you have to do is eat more than you feel comfortable with for several days on the trot, and then your stomach expands and you're able to take more in.
After eating breakfast I used to go about 4 hours before I'd be hungry again, today I was ready for lunch after a single hour. Going to have to increase my breakfast size I think.

I have been doing exactly that, all year in fact. I've only got my parents to "receive praise" from, but on the rare occasion it does occur it always feels empty coming from them. Went to Maplin with my mum and got me a SAD light. Typically the weather's turned out really sunny today, so I'll have to wait until it's shit outside again to find out if it actually works.
While I was there, they had one of those electronic drum kits, and I had a quick go on it. Maybe get some vidya-related stuff, you got an old Wii or PS2? Softmod them so you can install some homebrew and play "backup" discs, or get a hard drive and install a shitloads of games on that. If you haven't got an old console, maybe you could get one.
Or if you're more into emulating on PC, get some genuine controllers and USB adapters to use them on your computer. Maybe even a bluetooth adapter and infra-red light to play Wii games in Dolphin with an actual wiimote.

Any peripherals that you don't have, like the classic controllers, a gamecube controller or motionplus adapter? You could even get a CRT if you don't already have one, old consoles look great on them.
You could also replace any shitty composite cables with component cables if you only have a LCD TV, or RGB SCART cables for a beautifully clear picture on CRTs.
