Ivan Raiklin began talking to Kevin McCarthy and Mike Pence's Chief of Staff Mark Short about a legal strategy centered around the Electoral Count Act and the 12th Amendment with the basis being that the 2020 elections were fraudulent due to non-legislative changes under the guise of COVID-19 measures. Once his strategy become known Nancy Pelosi and her staff, including Terry McCullough, and her Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving, took action to counter his plan by intentionally reducing security measures at the Capitol. On January 3rd, in testimony made by Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato which was subsequently hidden by Liz Cheney and the January 6th Select Committee, President Trump authorized 10,000 National Guard troops for January 6th. Nancy Pelosi and DC Mayor Bowser declined the National Guard despite intelligence indicating three days prior warning of potential violence where "Congress itself" could be attacked by armed Trump supporters. Additional intelligence indicated that there would be 50,0000 Trump supports in DC that day, along with Antifa and other left-wing groups that had historically been involved in violent assaults on Trump supporters following public protests. Despite this Mayor Bowser only accepted 350 Guard Soldiers in very limited roles. President Trump also made sure a "Quick Response Team" was waiting on standby, but was ignored as plainclothed intelligence assets incited the crowd and goaded them into entering the Capital Building. While this was happening USCP Chief Steven Sund requested National Guard support from Nancy Pelosi's Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving. He called Irving at 12:58pm, 1:34pm, and 1:45pm, with a phonecall to former Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger to make the same request at 1:05pm. Paul Irving testified that he did not remember receiving any request from Sund until after 2pm, after the "riot" had largely subsided. In a now famous video recorded serendipitously by her daughter Alexandra Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi feigned, "Why weren't the National Guard there to begin with?", despite knowing full well that it was her and Mayor Bowsers responsibility to accept President Trumps offer of the National Guard, something she admits to in the video. A fact Liz Cheney was ever cognizant of when she and the January 6th Select Committee illegally hid the exculpatory testimony of Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato in order to craft a narrative that President Trump had ordered his supporters to storm the capital. Supporting the "Insurrection" narrative which was used to prosecute nearly 1700 law abiding citizens.
