How are the mutts of U.S. soldiers of the Vietnam war treated in your country?
I'm asking because I've thought about getting a Vietnamese wife or gf.

I went to Vietnam at the start of the year, really nice country. I visited Ho Chi Minh, Hoi An and Hanoi. I did all the touristy stuff in HCM like visiting the tunnels, museums etc. I'm thinking of going back early next year because I'll be in SEA for a study tour. If I come back, what's worth doing? What food should I try? Last time I did a motorcycle food tour through HCM where I ate sea snails and all sorts of cool stuff.
The only thing I didn't really like was that haggling in HCM wasn't very fun, the people always seemed annoyed and in a hurry, but not haggling would lead to getting ripped off massively. In Hoi An I bought a bunch of cheap shirts and hats and haggled the price down with the old lady who seemed to enjoy the process. What's the deal there? Bad luck with haggling? Or is HCM different?

douted about that because your will never buy a cheap shirt in that place. And also, you are a forginer, they will try to take money from u.

the first thing, and i'm sure, is to stay away from tourist location, that, in mein opinion, not fun.
about food, try local food in the supermarket, its cheap (4-5$ is more than enough to get a delicious food that will make u full all day)
HCM have tons of street food, taste fucking good. U can go to chinese street to get some Hủ tiếu too.
And consider going to Mekong delta, vistis fruits farm, enjoy sea food,……

I'm sure I still got fleeced, but it was pretty cheap compared to Australia.

I don't think I ever entered a supermarket. I should have tried some of the snacks. HCM's street food looked great when it was early in the morning and all the food was super fresh, but the friend I was traveling with was worried about getting sick from street food and wouldn't let us eat any.
The tour guide we had for the food tour was great. He was going to come to Australia this year and we were going to show him and his friends around, but he changed his plans. The tour guide for the tunnels was a former soldier and we went through the non-touristy tunnels, apparently there's ones that were expanded to fit westerners through them more easily.
I didn't even think of the Mekong! There's so much more to do over there. I'll have to come back.

Hue, hoi an, Da nang, and dont forget Ha Noi. That is what i recommend for u.
Da nang is a comfy place to stay, but tourism ruin it. But the food there is good too. Hue also good, go to Hue royal citadel, have some sense of it history.
Ha Noi is famous for it cheap, decent food. Bun cha thit nuong, chả cá lã vọng, banh cuon, bun cha nem……its like the heaven of Viet's food. They always say that: "U cant not rush when u are in HN". It take time.
