Fuck it time for a full autism post since this thread has been dead for over a year. And this is like the only active ASMR site where I can be Lazy on anon.
I liked this guy in the early days of his channel. I really liked how he kept a consistent character based on old sci-fi and paranormal pulp while also hitting my triggers.
He also has a history of going shoutouts and support to smaller channels in the ASMR community which I will always support.
Fuck the man did loose story arcs that while they were not necessary showed that he had energy and effort and made him stand apart from most of the field.
Then somewhere I wanna say around the time he aborted multiple story arcs that he started slipping. Now its not that didn't do great work after but more and more bad videos started to leak in.
Then at some point around three years ago he drops the story-arcs almost completely which was annoying because that and his unique topics were what drew me to his channel in the first place.
Then there was all the dumb meme shit that still had good triggers which could have been in normal videos.
Now the guy who's entire persona was a stiff laced government bureaucrat/secret agent dealing with paranormal stuff makes only videos with him being tired and drunk.
He does have a podbean account where he still occasionally post good story content but its mostly random topics he can't make a video out of.
Honestly I feel like he still does decent work and can do better but seems stuck in a rut. Is it because ASMR has stagnated so he need to do what he can to get views? Is it that he has ran out of content related to his original concept? Is it because he is old?
I don't know but even tough he can still do good work I feel like the things that made him stand apart from other ASMR channels he has turned away from and it makes me sad that a channel I followed for so long is just depressing now.
