This story was from the /asmr/ board. Here's a prime example of when white knighting goes wrong. This is worth reposting to show the harm white knighting can cause when it backfires. It's hilarious and slightly sad at the same time.
Here's the story:
A couple months ago a dumbass anon mentioned on discord that he knew Valeriya's name and age although he didn't share this info on discord. This anon is a dumbass for even saying anything on discord.
Meanwhile Valeriya's white knights read the anon's discord post and they decide to create a fake stalker story and tell her these lies. She believes their lies and freaks out.
Suddenly the fake stalker story is created and starts circulating on social media and she has a breakdown.
Up until this point the anon from discord hasn't shared any info at all and now he is being falsely accused by her white knights.
It was only after he was being falsely accused that he said fuck it and decided to share the info exclusively on 8kun.
Thus the dumbass white knights lies are responsible for this whole fucking mess and causing her breakdown. If they wouldn't have told Valeriya lies to get her attention, the anon would never have shared the info with anyone. Heed this cautionary story before you try to be a white knight.
