Well, to me it wasnt really about the asmr, but dont get me wrong, she had a really good videos, but what I enjoyed the most were the little interactions with her through the comments.

Im just sad that I couldnt say at least good bye to her. :/ I can only shout into the ether and hope.

It's so hard to let go. I tried to comfort myself by thinking that there was no outside influence, and that removing the stress caused by her growing channel resulted in only positive feelings for her and an improvement in her life. Sadly the reality is that she quit only a few days after the murder of that e-girl by an orbiter became big news. I'm sure it was a combination of things, but the fact that she removed everything says a lot. She probably felt like it wasn't worth the risk anymore. I'm not sure if you guys are interested, but I'm gonna make some guesses as to why that was anyway.

I was sure she would keep her channel up as long as she was still a student because during that time there certainly wouldn't be any normal reasons to remove it. We know her channel got bigger than she wanted it to be, and maybe she was approaching the point where she wouldn't have time for everybody. She was very busy for the immediate future, and for someone that young it probably seemed like an eternity. These time constraints wouldn't prompt the deletion of everything especially since she's taken long breaks between videos before.

I imagine the channel didn't mean the same thing to her as it did when she first started. She did suggest that it was her way of reaching out back then. She's now at an age where people sort of discover themselves, and it did seem like her anxieties weren't holding her back anymore. I think that for some time already it had been about helping people who were there for her in the beginning, as well as having fun when she properly had time.

There was a guy in my city who was stabbing random people who just happened to walk by, and it took surprisingly long for them to catch him. You have to watch your back in this world every time you go outside regardless of what you do, and her positive content won't change the chances of something like this happening to her. I'm sure a lot of people are saying crazy things, but that's just talk. The e-girl was practically dating the orbiter. She will realize this eventually, but who knows if she still has a desire to create any kind of videos at that point. Her channel was the most adorable thing I've seen in this world, and it kills me that my speculation probably isn't that far from the truth.

I agree with many of your points and I agree that bad things can happen to you no matter who you are or what you do. I also think that the murder of the girl played a part in her leaving, especially since she has had stalkers in the past. I side with her though and say it's probably best not to raise the chances of a crazy person targeting you. Especially with the rise in anti-female sentiment these days in places like America and Saudi.

I admit that some of my ranting has been out of selfishness too, but that stuff isn't the reason why this hurts so much and it's difficult to move on. Regardless of how positive, loving and gentle you are, you still have to deal with the fact that the rest of the world isn't like that. She contributed in a positive way that had an impact on our lives, but most likely she still got scared away by the horror stories of people who were taking huge risks not just online, but irl as well. Only Pastel herself has enough information to calculate the risk so I'm gonna say this in a very general sense. Life is unpredictable, and the positive things we already have are worth holding on to even if they aren't even close to the goals we are striving for.

I haven't suddenly forgotten that the good times lasted for years, and that's what I'll try to focus my thoughts on.

I am slowly uploading them, there's about 20gb in total. I'm tempted to put them on a private youtube as well so I can watch them wherever… I'm questioning whether I should share them though, she clearly wants no trace of anything online. I don't take Pastel as an irrational person so there probably was something going on behind the scenes which is quite sad to think about but also not difficult to imagine at all. Trying to form meaningful bonds with people online almost never goes well because as much as it's hidden, a lot of people have unhealthy approaches to any kind of relationship.

I don't think it's impossible that she got scared too easily, but I didn't claim to know what kind of crap she was dealing with either. The main point I was trying to make was that it's difficult to know the value of some things in life before it's all said and done. We all know her Youtube channel was just a hobby and she was working hard on other things, but she still managed to build something that a lot of people connected with in a positive way.

I know it's kind of stupid to say things like this, but I would have taken those underage videos down at some point even if there wasn't any problems. Going out in the city is fun, but going to the wrong part of it at night is asking for trouble. If I take my own feelings out of this, I guess this is only sad if she had to quit when she was still having fun. I think that's what you were saying as well.

It is possible to download from bilibili, it's just a pain in the ass. It should add a box with download options to the bottom of the website. You need to make an account to use the 1080p option in the player, for some reason, make sure you select that before you download. It's annoying and everything in Chinese and I spent two hours figuring this shit out a while back.

Does the Chrome method download the video as a single big file or multiple parts? I've downloaded Bilibili videos before using the app on a couple of devices. It's quick, easy and you get the full quality, but some videos are downloaded in multiple parts. Is this the case in browser as well?

Thanks. If someone else is interested, this isn't a confirmation because many of the videos I downloaded using the app were single file as well.

Oops I forgot to mention that if you don't change the name of the folder, the multiple parts will play normally as a single video in the Bilibili app. If you keep your videos safe somewhere else, it might be worth it to save the ids for the folders so you can put them back in the right folder for the app later.

Yes, you won't find all of her videos on Bilibili by using the search bar in English. I went through the profiles of everyone who had uploaded her stuff, and I was able to salvage every video except for the first little sister roleplay. There's 45 videos in total.

I have to admit that I'm a little curious if anyone else is still watching? Is the wholesome part of her community still out there somewhere? I know someone made a discord after she quit, but I don't know if anything came out of it. Would be crazy to find out some of you guys are still in contact.

I've made the decision to not upload myself because of her obvious effort to remove everything that had anything to do with her asmr content. The videos on Bilibili are already there, and I've tried to share information on how to easily download them yourself using the app. The only minor challenge is making an account on the site, but after that anyone who has used Youtube can easily figure out how to download in the app at least. I'm pretty sure she quit mostly because of stalkers, so I feel guilty doing anything. It's just that I have so many good memories tied to those videos from otherwise dark times, and all the other people expressing similar sentiments provided sufficient justification.

It's a bit tricky to come up with a comprehensive list because she removed videos along the way. Mine is the same as the one on ASMR index except I couldn't find the first little sister video on Bilibili. There were 42 listed videos on her channel plus at least 4 in the community tab. If you really have 50, those mystery videos would most likely have been unlisted extras like the ones at the end of my list. I'm not really actively looking for more videos anymore, but I would be curious to know what those missing videos were about.

That's cool. I suspected at one point that the water sounds video existed and had a vague memory of watching it, but I ended up thinking it was just the Cleaning You video after not finding any traces of it. The Brushing one I also kind of remember now that you mentioned it. I started watching around January or February 2017, so I guess those videos were still around. The last one I've never seen or just completely forgotten, which is weird because I was already a big fan at that point. I think most of the deleted videos only had some minor issue, and the awesome asmr easily made up for it. You are the only person who has helped me with that list, so I'm very grateful for the info.

I've watched the same people since early 2017. For some reason I've only enjoyed the channels I found in the first 6 months. Some kind of weird feeling of connection to those creators formed after watching them for a while, and I just can't experience it with someone new. Many of these are very mainstream, although back in early 2017 they were a lot smaller.

Goodnight Moon - My favorite after Pastel. I've been relying on her videos a lot since Pastel quit. I guess my life is now in Erin's hands.

Whitewinterwhispers - Fellow Finn, and lives less than a kilometer from me lol. Posts only when she feels like it and has the time. The state of her channel is very similar to how I imagined Pastel's channel would have been around this time.

Poki ASMR - Posts just once a year these days, but the channel is still there. Another example of how Pastel could have continued after the time restrictions got more severe. Maybe she would have if it hadn't been for the stalkers.

ASMR Darling - She started making solid videos again last year like she used to back in 2017. I also watch her on Twitch all the time.

Do you guys remember if Pastel mentioned in the comments or in other interactions outside Youtube that she used to be a theater kid? I know she never said it in any of her videos, and I was left with the impression that she was trying to hide that fact for whatever reason. Well, maybe hide is too strong a word, but she did talk fairly extensively about many of her other hobbies.

I realised my copy of her first basics of python video doesn't have sound for some reason, and neither do any copies I can find online, does anyone have it with sound? I never actually watched it, and it's bugging me…

There were two uploads of it on Bilibili: The one you probably have could be found using the search bar, but the one with sound is hiding in the profiles of the people who had her stuff. I searched through all those accounts in 2019 and there were double uploads of other videos as well. It could still be there.

If you searched for Pastel Cutie on that site and then checked the profiles of all those results, you could find every video except the No Talking Now Only Brushing, Rain and Crinkle Sounds, Little Sister Bandages Your Wounds (the first little sister video), and Making Jelly Candies (the one with her real voice).
