Anyone here actually like SPAM? My grandma used to make SPAM fried rice for lunch, and spam on eggs every morning. It's been a part of my daily diet since childhood, so I was shocked when I moved to the states and people scoffed at me for eating spam. Why do people associate spam with dog food and pig assholes? It's just pork shoulder, the same stuff they make grocery ham out of…
I don't get the hate.

It's pretty good for a cheap meat substitute. I would eat it sometimes as a kid, but nothing spectacular about it stands out. The juices in there always seemed nasty.

>>421>meat substitutethats my point man, spam IS meat. its pork rump and shoulder. its about as meat as hamburgers.
also the gelatin stuff was removed in the 90s, when they added corn starch to the recipe. personally, i liked the grease more because it made frying easier.
