I can't fucking stand Thinkpads.
they have this little 14-inch screen
You have to be a midget to use one
and you can't have stubby fat fingers either
So what - use one for a toaster
shitty ram
shitty CPU
run Linux without a DE because that's all it can handle
fuck that
I can get at least a 15.6 inch screen
or a 17.3 inch screen with 104 keys
better cpu
better gpu
more ram - because i can actually fit more into it
and I don't have to worry about having bratwurst fingers
I'm 6'7" for fuck's sake
I also can do better than a poorfag with a thinkpad
so, fuck thinkpads.

I hate that they are so easy to repair, cheaply available, and supported by libreboot. Fuck Thinkpads!

OP back to check on the death of my thread
>Clevo rebrands
for sure.
I really don't want a gaming laptop though
The thing is, is that the small screen is just too small
>buy docking station
>hook up multiple monitors
yeah, maybe.

They're meant to be easily transportable. Of course people don't use them as their main computer, but simply a practical interface to access their comp from a distance. It's especially practical for students and people who move a lot.
It's not meant to appeal to everyone.
What are you using right now ?

I bought a T420 and its a nice little laptop but I'd rather just keep using my desktop. When I travel somewhere I don't need my computer or the Internet to distract me from the experience.

So your point is that being genetically inferior (fat, tall and short-sighted) makes you angry?
Have sex.

BIOS freedoms are worth the inconvenience.

I hate that they are laptops, a desktop is always better. But when it comes to laptops, there is basically nothing better than old thinkpads. Too many people know now though, they're starting to get more expensive.

I really hate this. I want to get a cheap t61 to ssh into my desktop/servers from, but they go for ~$80, it's absurd.

>only 16GB of RAM
>no convenient PGDN/PGUP keys
>no convenient dock
>probably doesn't work that well with Linux or BSD
if you've got a hardware dock you can just drop the thing on your desk and use the incredibly cheap, incredibly large monitor(s plural) that you have on multiple mounts around the desk.
I just want someone to remake the Dell XPS 12 2950, i.e. the only good one. shit for your lap, but using a laptop productively on your lap is a waste of time anyway.
