The filesystem thread was especially interesting, and it's truly amazing to see how so-called "problems" we have nowadays were already solved decades ago, yet those solutions were largely ignored.
Unfortunately, actually solving technological problems isn't profitable in today's economy, hence the shitfest of half-baked solutions, "worse is better" braindamage, and so on. What we have today sucks for the most part, yes, but it's a mistake to believe that the trend of avoiding real solutions wasn't a thing already back in the 70s.

I have a small archive of /tech/ threads I found interesting or posted in from 2019-08-24, but the closest to something about filesystems is a thread about the Linux filesystem hierarchy. There are various mentions of filesystems in various threads so if you can remember something more specific I can try to find it for you. No guarantees though, like I said the archive contains only a few threads.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that a computer should just record everything you do and make it searchable, holy fuck.

Don't bother looking for them. When I first got to /tech/, I read each of his posts looking for him to say something interesting. What I found is that they were unilaterally devoid of content. The style involved a detailed description of how "brain-damaged" some facet of unix land is (or more often: was), followed by vague motioning in the direction of how multics/lisp machines/whatever solved the problem. Those licenses are truly focused on freedom whereas the GPL is more like a communist license with its copyleft. So GPL software is free to use and modify as opposed to proprietary software, but then again imposes its own restrictions and ideology. It's just the other side of the coin compared to proprietary software. The BSD/MIT licenses on the other hand just tell you to do whatever you want with the code, and sometimes have clauses to credit the creator. This also makes the whole management of licenses much easier when you use BSD/MIT licensed code in your own projects. That is important in commercial projects and least saves you a lot of hassle on private ones.
