Which alternatives are better?

>Bitchute is centralised in the UK and uses non-free JS and cloudflare

>DuckDuckGo is a honeypot

>Searx and Startpage relies on fetching results from other search engines including Google

I know zeronet is a thing but I'm not familiar enough to comment on it.

I use bitchute to watch videos sometimes and waterfox and also the tor browser instead of firefox. I don't need any of the Twitter/Faceberg alternatives because I don't use platforms like that in the first place.

I could use a better email provider though.

What about Qwant, is it a honeypot too?

Can you substantiate why duckduckgo is a honeypot? I'd be interested in your source.

Well, I'm not this OP, but at least DuckDuckGo is available over Tor, so you can use it anonymously.

Guix is not an alternative to Google Play. F-Droid is.

Is Taler anything more than just a meme?

this. absolute autism in there.

for one thing wikipedia is nowhere near the levels of botnet that the others are.

instead of youtube, invidious works pretty well. it's not perfect though. and it's not the final solution either but the best thing to do right now is try to shift people to slightly better alternatives.

it's better if you get your normie friends to use Signal compared to trying to get them to use XMPP to no avail.

I can't find a confirmed source for it being a honeypot but I have sources for why it's suspicious:

>Gabriel Weinberg, the founder of DuckDuckGo, used to run the Names Database (https://archive.is/9wR4O).

This was a website that aimed to connect people who had lost contact by gathering lots and lots of e-mail addresses. Getting access could be done by either paying money, or submitting lots of e-mail addresses of other people. Since the service revolved around gathering personal information, it is very suspicious for Gabriel Weinberg to start a business that is privacy-oriented (https://archive.is/N2qe8)

>DuckDuckGo used to set a tracking cookie, even though they claimed they didn't.

This was done by a third party they cooperate with, which means that it wasn't necessarily intentional, but if it's unintentional, it shows a worrying lack of care (https://archive.is/qntuk)

>DuckDuckGo is based in the US. This makes it really easy for the NSA to compromise it.

If it were based in the EU, for example, the NSA wouldn't have the legal power to force them to log everything without telling anyone. This wouldn't guarantee privacy, but it would make it a lot more plausible. Instead, they're based in the US, which means that the NSA can do whatever they want with them. There are secure search engines that are not based in the US.(also mentioned in https://archive.is/qntuk)

>What about Qwant, is it a honeypot too?

I'm not really familiar but it's still less than ideal as it's proprietary and Quant is also in partnership with Microsoft and using Microsoft Azure which is a little suspicious (https://betterweb.qwant.com/how-microsoft-tools-strengthen-qwant/).

Why WOULD you use Twitter? Or any Twitter clone. The concept is pants on head retarded, encourages the absolute worst possible behavior and the only way to have anything of value on there is by abusing the format through making 20 posts in a row or posting text as an image. It's like saying anonymous boards are great because they have tripcodes.

Twitter is trash and a big fucking tumor on human society. This goes for the majority of shit on the OP image, actually. It's like asking if there is a non-botnet alternative to sticking uranium up your ass and recommending an arsenic enema instead. The lengths to which "people" will have Pepsi/Cola debates instead of drinking water is depressingly incredible.
