As a midwester I do see this phenomenon. However, I'm inclined to agree with >>12892. Something tells me she's not a housewife, and that swept-over, short on one side and long on the other thing she has going with the hair isn't strictly speaking practical. That being said she's far less blue-pilled and far more reasonable than I would have expected, particularly the Kennedy bashing. A plot point that would have been interesting for Rey's parents? She didn't have any. She is actually a female clone of Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker that the Imperials grew a large batch of in the attempts to regain their lost power from loosing Darth Vader and Darth Sidious. It's why their storm troopers are drafted and mind-washed civilians instead of clones, as the resources were sent to clone the Sith… With many losses of cloning equipment and personnel due to insane force wielding clones self-destructing. It's also why Rey is so good at so many things, as she is simply recalling the incomplete programming given to the clones for knowledge and skills.
As for the people who were thought of as her parents? Rebels who discovered the project, nabbed one of the few "successful" clones that didn't go insane, blew up that base, and couldn't bring themselves to kill child Rey so they dropped her off at the first place they could. Rebels thought the entire project was destroyed so there wasn't any thought of bringing it up again.

From a plot standpoint, TFA fucked everything with JJ’s stupid fucking idea to reset everything so the OT never happened. From a lore standpoint, throwing out the EU and replacing it with Wendig and the purple armpit tumblrinas was the terminal mistake, which again is JJ’s fault because that rat nosed kike wanted to create his own universe.
It could have been salvaged by a canny hand at the helm, but Rian was the absolute worst person to give things to. He didn’t just make it worse, he put it to a whole new level of bad where instead of a lame series which people disliked it became an existential crisis for Star Wars which might skunk the whole brand and perhaps even Disney. Kennedy and Lucasfilm then tossed gasoline on the fire by declaring they want to kill white males and drive them out, and having their press cocksuckers shitting out articles about how evil the fanbase is.
