 No.31745 [Last50 Posts]

so this promotional poster for episode nein got leaked today. thoughts?

as per usual, looks like a hot mess. the elite stormtroopers on the bottom make me think a lot of that disguise luke used in shadows of the empire. c-3po with a crossbow makes no sense. the knights of ren look intriguing but will be just as much of a waste as snoke's guard most likely. the new paint jobs for rebel ships are pretty shitty. the tie fighter with the fuckin arrow wing looks dumb as shit.

fuck. once again they fuck it all up more than i thought they would.

WTF is that stupid looking alien next to Finn, it looks like it has downs. C-3PO with the bowcaster, I am sure its a red herring for a single scene where he hands it to Chewbacca. and continuing with the no good ideas so rip of the OT they fucked up the beautiful TIE Interceptor by taking the space out of the wing that allowed for the four cannons, that thing is a triangle winged TIE. And it looks like Ball droid is getting a scrappy-doo sidekick.

The design for the new troopers looks moderately interesting, everything else seems to be the same old shit, with the exception of C3PO having a crossbow, whatever that's all about. What I want to know is why neither Lando nor Luke nor Leia are on there, how is this supposed to make up for the Last Jedi if it's all the new characters nobody likes?

Don't forget more new characters, as if we didn't have enough desperately screaming out for proper development.

>Rey

>Finn

>Poe

>Rose

>Kylo Ren

>Hux

>Phasma

>the new black girl

>that thing wearing pink

>all of the returning OT characters

Good luck finding everyone something to do. I wonder if Rose will even be in this film.

Poster looks like an ugly Photoshop mess, but so do most of the posters for the new movies. It's an early poster, so maybe the final one they use in theaters will be good, though I doubt it.

Knights of Ren and the red stormtroopers are just eye candy that will have maybe 10 minutes of total screen-time. That TIE Interceptor looks retarded, taking away what little visibility the pilot of a standard TIE would have. That alien looks like a blob-fish, why can't Disney do any aliens that aren't brown/yellow/gray blobs?

Those two other new characters are probably bounty hunters or Resistance agents, they will probably be as uninteresting as DJ and/or as annoying as Rose. At least Rose is absent, so maybe they cut her from most of the film. 3PO with a bowcaster is dumb. I could see it being a little minute long joke, but then why would it be on the bloody poster?

Rey, Finn and Poe have new outfits, they look ok, though not very distinctive. Kylo having his mask again is retarded after he spent most of the last movie talking about killing the past. But I guess you need more toy variants instead of consistent characterization.

Looks like the Resistance Y-Wing is the exact same as the Rebellion's. Why would they still use the Y-Wing, that thing's like 60 years old by the time of this movie. I know there's some real life situations that are similar, like the B-52. But the Y-Wings in the OT were basically held together with duct tape, so I don't get why the Resistance would still use those if they have new X-Wing and A-Wing models.

the resistance x-wing and a-wing are actually outdated and leftover shit, they weren't even what the new republic had at the time of its destruction. conveniently placed for muh nostalgia grab.

I'm not that versed in the Disney canon, I thought the Resistance just bought what the New Republic had in surplus (like how there's a million poor countries with F-16s and, even though it's not America's most advanced fighter, it's still in use by them and considered relatively modern).

It's retarded that the Resistance has old shit while the First Order has a bunch of modern stuff like the TIE/sf and Resurgent class Star Destroyer. Both are backed by factions of the New Republic, and the Resistance seems to be backed by the larger faction. So, unless they're writing in something like the First Order finding a Star Forge, this power disparity makes no sense. Access to raw materials in the Unknown Regions is not enough to explain how high tech their fleet is.

This could be a trial balloon for the final poster's look, the evidence wither or not this is fake will become apparent later if the next movie has triangle wing tie interceptor knock offs (sounds like something rip off con man abrams would do) , the retarded alien (looks like a typical disney cgi character), and the motorcycle helmet/ character.

Even if that's the Disney cannon it still doesn't really work, craft like the A-Wing or Y-Wing would be more like WW1 surplus in the time of ep9.

Of course even in the EU, the New Republic for a time built their own variant like craft but in the poster that's not a LongProbe or A4 pattern Y-Wing or meant to look like something different its only the standard S3 which blew up the Death Star, not even with S3B upgrades. The New Republic wouldn't use a piece of junk like that.

I feel like yidsney is in a panic, and trying to A-B test everything in preparation for ep 9 while they have the chance. This poster wasn't leaked, it's for market testing. I decided to look up the dates for when the teaser trailers for both TFA and TLJ were released. TFA was over a year ahead of the film coming out, and TLJ was mid April. I'm betting that the title and teaser for ep 9 are both being held back until Celebration as they try and data mine the goyim to try and cut the most attractive teaser they can't manage.

If you listen to normie youtube e-celebs there were some statements forwarded from a theater manager who saw 25 no-show pre-order tickets for each showing of Captain Marvel all throughout the opening weekend. Furthermore there was a lot of promotions and shit where if you bought something else you would get the tickets for free. As far as I know there hasn't been a comprehensive video covering all of the schemes yidsney used to fluff numbers, however there is no way in hell Captain Marvel made 150 million on its opening weekend legitimately.

To be fair though, Marvel and SW are both owned by Disney but have completely different fanbases. Also the MCU hasn't done anything to properly alienate fans. Think about it; every film in the MCU has been a success and range from okay to good even when they're predictable or have rather poor execution, and despite how awful the comics are, the films themselves do nothing during the course of their plots to actively alienate normalfag viewers who don't keep track of online drama, with Larson's being the first example of extremist alienating behavior. Idiots had no reason to not see Capt Marvel because it just seemed like another generic and predictable MCU movie to watch with Chads and Stacys, which is the main reason people go to the movies anyway these days, not because a film is great, but because they want to hang out and text while getting a little high like idiots, so the only criteria a film has to meet is "okay", which is why Captain Feminism and the MCU will continue doing well until RDJ retires, after which they're gonna see a drop in popularity.

Then there's SW, which unlike the MCU, has done everything to alienate every part of the old fanbase and TLJ effectively killed what little normalfag appeal it had, resulting in the first flop of the entire franchise, i.e. Solo, which is something even the MCU at its lowest never suffered. Also compare the online communities of SW and the MCU to one another and you'll see a vast difference in behavior and unity.

In short, people will pay to go see Cap. Marvel because its another MCU movie and normalfags have no reason to think an MCU movie will be bad since the overmilked franchise has yet to do anything to genuinely disappoint them, whilst SW has actively done everything in its power to alienate not just fans but even normalfags, so IX's chances of failure are more likely. It won't flop hard, that's for sure, but it will under perform, especially now that they've lost the Chinese audience. The film may reach close to a billion (or 700mil at the very least) but it will struggle greatly to get there.

No one believes this, abrams is a known hack that actively ruins canon and is incapable of concluding the “mystery boxes” he sets up furthermore he is not starting from scratch but rather is stuck with the baggage from the previous 2 disney movies and more importantly the horrible uncharismatic non-characters which have failed to connect with the audience (shocker). Therefore even if abrams does his typical move of ignoring previous films (I have a feeling disney might not allow too much of that) he is still stuck with the “characters”, a disinterested audience, and stuck with the job of trying to conclude a trilogy that was effectively concluded in TLJ.

Remember abram’s TFA was touted as the film that redeemed star wars before release by the Lügenpresse (media) but after release it was quickly criticized for being a bad rip-off of ANH, having an obnoxious Ma-Rey-Sue character, weak bad guy (kylo), plot holes, inconsistencies, etc. and the criticism really started to take off and build a few weeks after its release (after Christmas & New Year’s). The apologists even admitted that it was a rip off but that it had to be to “set up” the nu- trilogy and that TLJ would fix and answer setups of TFA. This is hardly an indorsement of a director who knows what to do with the IP he is given power over and I believe most people either know this or know that they have currently seen 2 terrible Disney star wars movies in this ill-conceived trilogy and they don’t give enough of a shit to see the 3rd also the other 2 star wars movies were also bad which further makes anything new from the star wars brand seem like garbage.

I am certain disney is probably spending shekels (on reditt another out of touch cuck-soyfaggot hangouts) trying to get this idea that abrams will somehow redeem star wars like they did with TFA, from what I’ve seen of idiot e-celbs Ethan van Sciver and to some extent Geeks and Gamers guy push this idea from time to time it’s not going to work and they probably now this therefore I think they’ll probably pull a Captain Marvel this December and buy their own tickets and review websites again.

Now it's called The Rise of Skywalker. The Will of the Force doesn't sound so bad since it could be changed to Last Will of the Franchise if it flops. What Skywalker is rising?

Alien looks like it belongs in a Men in Black movie instead of a Star Wars one. There has been a lack of actual aliens involved in this sequel trilogy outside of the montage that was Canto Bight. I guess I understand why since if this is the best they can do, it's no wonder they stuck with humans as they did.

I think it's basically about rey giving a boring speech about Luke's legacy. And then broadcasting it on a radio station to start some revolution or something.
