There's nothing to meme, Obi Wan is meant to be viewed as a false wiseman, Luke is enraptured by him and the ways of the Jedi, only to discover that he was full of shit. His whole, "from a certain point of view" spiel is meant to show you that he was full of shit. Lucas has said over and over again that people didn't understand the OT, and that's why he made the Prequels, to clarify his intentions. But people don't understand that Prequels either. Obi Wan isn't evil, he's just a shitheel and a remnant of the corrupt Jedi Order. He's not a hero, Lucas even said himself that the OT is a fairy tale where none of the good guys die. Obi Wan dies because he's not one of the good guys.

Quite honestly the Jedi Council are who fucked up, not Obi Wan. They refused to train Anakin, and you can see the resentment on Anakin's face when they say thay he's too damaged and angry. Sidious didn't get Anakin to his side by playing on his hatred of Obi Wan, but on playing on his hatred of the Jedi Council, which really comes down to Windu being a cunt to him the whole time.
The second problem was the fact that Anakin couldn't go to anyone to protect his wife because the Jedi Council would have been pissed he was married, and Yoda's advice when he tried to bring it up was to advise him just to not give a shit. His only outlet was a Sith who told him he could make her immortal.
There's no indication Obi Wan did anything wrong here, except maybe tolerate his padawan's affection for Padme instead of reaming him out and forbidding it, which we can all guess wouldn't have led to Anakin going to Sidious earlier and maybe getting more Sith training earlier on.

I don't disagree there. I was taking that into account, that by-the-book Obi-Wan was just incapable of being a good mentor to Anakin in light of the shitty way the Council was treating him. That's not a slight on Kenobi, certain padawans would have benefited from that approach. Anakin just wasn't one of them, and he needed someone like Qui-gon to teach him.
