Hutts are kinda fun when you pick into why they're known for mob bosses.
>Hutts did not try to justify their criminal actions as doing so was a sign of hypocrisy which was not part of their way. Instead, they did everything as part of their laws and customs without pretending that they were bastions of morality.[11] Furthermore, they were noted for holding a twisted sense of humor. Flattery was seen as one of the best policies when dealing with Hutts as it was considered unwise to earn their enmity. According to them, the Hutts were known for their generosity and beneficence towards lower lifeforms that served them ably.[10]
Pity we never got a conclusion to Bogga.

>Ongree were commonly seen as a diplomatic, measured species. This opinion was fostered by the arrangement of their eyestalks; since Ongree could see an object from multiple angles, it was thought that this ability gave the species a unique mindset, allowing them to examine a situation from all possible perspectives. It was believed that their literal and figurative outlooks were linked by a psychological trait.
>Due to their unique psychologies, many members of the species were adept negotiators, diplomats, and politicians, though this characteristic was also exploited for less wholesome activities, and some were known to consort with crime lords and gangsters.

Find any videogame with adjustible FOV and crank that number right up, even up to human standards of ~150 degrees makes for a trip. But as for Ongree, I think that their only real trait would be a wider blindspot right in front of their face without having to go full on cross-eyed, , which incidentally seems to be what they need to do anyway for their special trick.

>The NVA had less advanced weaponry yet they beat the US in Vietnam.
The government decided they'd had enough. If they'd wanted to, they could have turned Vietnam into a smoldering crater. Which is exactly what the Empire should have done with those murderous dropbears, since they were completely capable of doing so and they didn't have to worry about things like how bad it might look or accidentally hurting one of their own installations or troops since they absolutely, unequivocally did not give a shit about things like that.

Nuking the shield array protecting your core weapons a really really bad idea. Even if you manage to win the fleet battle you now have to build another shield. The empire likely thought it had the upper hand and could fuck up the ewoks. But a well prepared guriella group can easily take out a better armed but less prepared group.

It's a pretty limited comparison, TBH. If memory serves, the Empire had not previously had any encounters with the Ewoks, who preferred to hide in the woods in all instances, and so assumed that the primitive tree-bears would be a non-factor in the defence of the shield generator against the inevitable Rebel commando raid. No one anticipated the Rebels somehow getting the Ewoks on their side, or that the little furballs would somehow end up being just enough of a force multiplier to make a shambles of the Emperor's intended ambush, but even the Galactic Empire does not usually go around just pre-emptively genociding random species without provocation, and up until actual commencement of the Battle of Endor, no one in the Imperial command structure had any reason to wipe out the Ewoks.

>discussing ewoks on endor
Ewoks were never a factor. They didn't manage to do any real damage. What doomed the Empire was the idiocy of their officers. They didn't killed the rebels on the spot, they scattered while chasing teddy bears instead of fucking in the rebels around, they still tried to make prisoners in the middle of a firefight, they didn't checked who was piloting that at-st, they opened the door and simply surrendered to a paltry number of rebels (when they were supposed to have suicidal loyalty)

maybe palpatine died sooner than we thought and his battle meditation wore off quickly? the time lapses are never really all that clear in these films. as for han, he was a former imperial so i'm sure he still had some of the lingo down, and no commandeering was reported, so it's not like the empire had any idea of an at-st being stolen. also, the ewoks did attack, it's no different than when GIs stormed villages in vietnam, as was george's intention btw. i get where you're going, and gross incompetence did play a part, but the rebels also had luck on their side.
