They think you can increase market share with pandering. The question I still have is "why"? when it never works. Perhaps >>19377 is correct and they think they'll have more secure careers for practicing goodthink than running a successful enterprise.

social engineering> shekels also I think you underplayed the racial component its there but like real life the feminst garbage is louder. There are a lot of african costumed negresses in all the disney movies with the my ancestor meme profile shot that randomly pop up in scenes in addition to the more obvious diversity characters.

In its conception I’m not sure it was a terrible idea, just greedy. They wanted to replicate the sales they get with boys with girls. I think KK made two mistakes in that 1) she didn’t actually craft changes that would appeal to women, and 2) she decided to denigrate male fans and characters in order to make the women seem more impressive.

Game of Thrones is popular with women, and if you look at the two most popular characters for women, they are Daenerys (who is beautiful, sucks at combat, but is magically special and has male characters willing to die for her) and Sansa (who is beautiful, sucks at combat, is the most ‘damsel’ character on the show but also very feminine and has men willing to die for her). Women don’t really identify with the more martial female characters like Brienne or Arya, even if they like the characters. Both Sansa and Daenerys have a lot of insecurity and fear, which makes them relatable.

Contrast that with Rey. The only female appeal is Reylo and there is probably a quarter of the awful fanfic written for that as there is for Sansa and the Hound. Nobody talks about Rose or Holdo, or Phasma, because there’s nothing to them.

It's got to be incestuous, horizontal signaling to their peers at this point. Women and minorities aren't rushing to reward them for empty, flat characters and extras with a pulse. They want their fellows in the Pedowood bath house to know they're down with the right mentality. If having the wrong opinion irrespective of bankability can get you kicked out of the business, then it stands to reason that signaling what they want to hear allows you to fail upward.

True, but at the same time look what he did with Rebels. He put his wolf fetish at the center of the fucking universe. I mean, seriously, if he wants to satisfy his wolf fetish, there are plenty of wolf-based species to use for stories, but instead he makes wolves the guardians of the universe, the symbol of the gateway to the nexus of reality, and the new force ghosts. He can slap wolf images and species wherever he wants, but putting them on such a high pedestal of essential cosmic elements is just going overboard. Still if he's given a little restraint like in that area like in TCW, that'd be fine.

I'd argue he doesn't get the Sith or the Force that well either. The worst part of that is because of his reputation as Lucas' own padawan his word on the lore is taken my normalfags to be analogous to Saint Paul and Christianity.

He does, however, understand what Lucasfilm wants out of these factions: A two-dimensional punching bag to furnish antagonism coupons for the week's episode or the month's short story. I think that his new "Resistance" cartoon will smother all interest in the First Order for good finishing the job that offing Snoke started.

>>19501

It really does spaghetti my meatballs why he didn't use furfag species for that shit. I can only speculate that his something to do with his weirdo esoteric Lucasism. It's the same belief where he insisted that he couldn't portray Sith spirits in "Rebels" because he didn't believe that's how Lucas intended the Force to work even though he didn't need to obey any of the prior canon. I'd be surprised if Lucas would approve of Filoni's lupification of the Force or the idea of there being a Force-gate that travels through time.

Plus I feel like Chris-Chan and his Sonic Boom protests but THRAWN'S PUPILS ARE NOT FREAKING BLACK REEEEEEEEEEE

that's the rest of the galaxy. i haven't bothered to confirm it but i've heard that the nu canon states that the empire and rebellion signed an armistice, that allowed the empire to keep the core worlds and any other worlds that wished to remain under the care of the empire, which was apparently a lot, while the new republic would be formed and take on all other systems minus the unknown regions, which is where the first order started and has been continually fed by the remnant.

That makes me laugh because Lucas bothered to add scenes of places like Coruscant experiencing mass celebrations and the tearing down of Sheev's statue in order to communicate to the fanbase that, "No guys, really, most of the Galaxy didn't like the Empire and wished Palpatine were gone. They WERE the bad guys here." Now Disney, which is the same company that's made the Galactic Civil War even more strictly black and white and slapped the Empire with more irrationally cruel war crimes, has written its lore such that the former symbol and capitol of the Republic was basically abandoned by the Rebellion and still exists as an Imperial stronghold.

The Nu-Canon version of the New Republic is actually quite small compared to Legends. Many worlds further from the core, like Rhyloth, have decided to assert their independence rather than join up with the New Republic or remain in the Empire because they don't trust extraplanetary government. They lost even more worlds when several planets represented by the Centrist political party seceded to the First Order. Honestly reading up on some of the nu-lore on Wookiepedia helps me understand how even something like the First Order can BTFO the New Republic.

>>20195

I believe the Bloodlines novel (the one about Leia after RotJ) states that the Corporate Sector has grown and asserted more independence since the Galactic Civil War. Not quite the Trade Federation but they still fulfill the role of "evil greedy capitalists" because their independence and anonymity allows them to secretly sell weapons to the First Order.

I know what you're thinking but it's retarded for a different reason. They aren't "Centrist" as in moderate or middle-ground in their temperament and politics. It refers to them wanting a stronger central government with a healthy military not quite so much maybe as that which existed under Palpatine but more than it was during the older Republic age. They are opposed by the "Populists" who want the member planets to retain greater sovereignty and don't want the Republic to maintain an army and navy capable of exercising any show of force comparable to the Empire's actions.

They're basically like the Federalist and Anti-Federalist parties which existed in early post-Revolutionary America. The author just chose really bad names to represent those ideologies or was trying to garner attention by using somewhat more popular Current Year ideological terms and repurposing them.

also, snoke's species is basically named the spectators. i forgot the actual word but it's really fucking dumb.

 No.20245

>>20228

I don't know of any that are as confusing as the Centrist and Populist parties yet. There's some mystery box level crap where they introduce a sci-fi or fantasy-sounding name without cluing in the nomenclature and just leaving it out there for somebody to define in the future (which to be fair is what Lucas did with the word "Sith") but nothing with connotations entirely unlike what the word is supposed to represent.

>20228

They actually haven't named Snoke's race yet. His alien servants are called "Attendants" and are from the unknown regions, but Snoke doesn't share their species. The rumor I heard is that they aren't planning on ever naming Snoke's race because they want it to be like Yoda's race or what Jawas look like underneath their hoods. A deliberate perpetual mystery that isn't supposed to be solved.

Of course like all of nu-canon's imitations of the past it fundamentally misses what makes such a thing work. The mystique of Yoda's species was never something portrayed as important about his character or an element of the hype or intrigue surrounding him and the movies never baited or insinuated some grand and impressive reveal about a Jawa's unmasked face. Snoke was used as a giant question mark the answers to which were supposed to keep people coming back. All of these non-answers and hand waves are just blue balling the people who decided to give a damn in the first place and turning off the audience they're trying to attract.

>>20248

That's another reason why it isn't a very good name. It's supposed to refer to their preference for a formidable centralized authority but it's also true as you're referencing that most Centrist planets are part of the Core Worlds. This is because that part of the Galaxy reaped the most material benefits from the New Order. Often this was at the expense of outer lying worlds, which is something from Legends that Nu-Canon kept.
