I have only ever watched TOS, TNG, and VOY because that's what they rerun on BBC America.

Is seeking out DS9 and ENT worth it? I heard the DS9 cast hate each other.

DS9 is the best of the trek series and worth a watch, find yourself a good torrent of the show and enjoy. ENT is so-so, it's definitely not the strongest of the series. It's still better than most of the dreck on TV (especially the BBC) in CURRENT YEAR + 4, though. Nobody's favorite show, but watchable enough that you can sit through it without issue if you wanted to.

DS9 and ENT are literally my favourite Trek except TOS and TNG.

I disagree with those that say DS9 is the best Trek, but it's definitely up there with the good ones.

DS9 has got its good points. The first year was awful, but when they started the war with the Dominion, and Sisco went genocidal.

It became apparent that it would have lasting appeal.

If you like what you’ve seen so far you should love DS9. I haven’t seen Ent myself.

I'll add that DS9 has one of the worst opening themes. They remix it in the later seasons, but it still sucks. Not as bad as ENT, but definitely more boring.

>DS9

yes. Weak last 5 minutes but an excellent show overall

>Enterprise

The whole of it just feels so skippable. They do some interesting things with showing how they developed some the federation's technology (calibrating ship's phasers for range, training the universal translator, etc) but I was ultimately bored with the show very quickly

And before you ask:

>Discovery

It's crap

watch The Orville instead. The parody is a better Trek than the most recent 3 series combined

The Original Series

>Pulpy Science Fiction Shorts

This is classic science fiction, like the ones you'd read in the old anthologies and magazines you could pick up back in the day. In retrospective they're kind of jewish, but usually not terribly bad and almost always entertaining. Each episode stands on its own and only a few things make more than one appearance. I imagine that watching this as a kid must have been a blast, not as great as reading even genre fiction, but still, pretty great. You have a pretty charismatic trio and everything. Zoomers should probably not bother with this shit as it won't feel very fresh to them and it hasn't aged well, but it could be watched ironically I guess.

The Next Generation

>West Coast Liberals in Space

According to reddit this was some kind of peak. In boredom maybe. The imagination and tone of the previous series is more or less gone here. Replaced with the foundation of the sanfran liberal mindset. All the characters are bland as fuck, the setting is now bland as fuck and no fun is allowed. No greek gods and no brains get stolen. Everyone is emasculated and effeminate. This is one of the most generic shows ever produced, it's blander than cardboard. Some rare episodes are good, but most of the time it's the kind of shit you watch when you've got literally nothing else going on. And the stuff that is good they eventually run into the ground with follow up epiosdes.

Deep Space Nine

>It's not Babylon 5, we swear!

Poor man's Babylon 5, but even that is superior to TNG in many ways. The characters are stronger, better written and they attempted big arcs instead of the completely episode based stuff they've done before which had a two parter at most. It's also got a literal space jew. But really, you'd be much better off just watcing B5.

Voyager

>Now with tits!

Star Trek goes femdom/feminist. Going full cuckmode we get a crew full of stronk womyn. It's awful. The premise is sort of interesting, as it was with DS9, but as usual that's squandered. There's no real difference between the space anomaly of the week we saw in TNG and the stuff we see in VOY. But unlike TNG this also has hot women, 7 of 9, in particularl. So I'd rank it higher. But other than the female focus it's really just a rehash of TNG. There's barely any big arcs, the premise almost never becomes relevant it's very heavy handed with the feminist stuff.

Enterprise

>See you in space, cowboy.

So they wanted to do some prequelkino tier stuff here, ditching the feminism in the process. I'd say that this show has the best Star Trek has to offer. It's not as aged as TOS and it's like a best of reel of the past series with the cancer removed. It's still sort of pozzed, but it's not nearly as bad as the other post-TOS shows. So you'd maybe think this would be a no brainer as the best show. Alas it's not, because they fucked up the prequel stuff with time travel bullshit instantly. Even so it's miles ahead of VOY and TNG, maybe DS9 depending on your preferences.

Wow, I only watched DS9 and ENT completely and liked it a lot. DS9 is a bit woke, but not a surprise since it's Star Trek. It's quite epic, I enjoyed it. I think I liked ENT the most and really very much, but I only watched it once. I'm not really a Trekkie. I also don't like The Orville, but only tried two episodes or so. If you want to try a comedy version of ST you need to try Hyperdrive.

nah, you're thinking of VOY's cast (or even TOS, but that's mostly to do with everyone getting baited by Shatner). The DS9 cast got along well, with only Avery Brooks being an odd guy who might have taken his performance too seriously or was, like Shatner, shitposting so much no one else got him.

TNG is pretentious garbage with a handful of good episodes.

DS9 is cheers in space, but a damn fine version of cheers in space.

Enterprise had so much promise that was systematically destroyed by inept writers. It's a very good show, with a solid premise, but was cursed from the start because of the show runners.

The first season of DS9 isn't bad, the problem is the show hasn't found its unique identity yet. They're still doing stories that could be done on TNG, it's not until midway through season 2 that it gets good, when they do only on DS9 shows.

DS9 was confused in it's last season

The whole "Emissary" Sisko thing petered out and was at odds with the Changling Dominion war plot line.

The Emissary arch ending looked tacked on as was put there in service of the Changling Dominion war plot line.

That's true, but even S1 could-be-TNG plots have a DS9 spin to them. For instance, take the Babel episode. If something like that happened in TNG, the bad guys would have been Cardassian, and that would have been that. But in DS9, the cast assumes it was the Cardassians, but they turn out to be wrong, and it was an extremist Bajoran sect who were responsible.
