For anybody else having certain issues with Advanced Lighting and shadows in SL the current amd beta driver 15.3 fixes it.
Do a clean install first though, and then either upgrade to 15.3, or if you aren't a fan of using the beta drivers, revert back to 14.4 till the new driver is out of beta :v
14.9 - 14.12 are the ones with bugs
The problems in AdvancedLighting with 14.9, and invisible rigged mesh with 14.12

I tried 15.3, but I still experienced the issue with regard to selection highlights showing through objects. Going to stick with 14.6 for now.

>>7540The way I had done it was uninstall drivers, then went to 14.4 since someone had told me the selection highlights thing was something to do with 14.9, so I checked out 14.4 just for the heck of it, and by golly they were right, the highlights were gone!
Anywho, after that I updated straight to 15.3 and that highlight,etc bugs havn't come back.
Maybe try doing it the order I did
clean install to 14.4 then update directly to 15.3

After looking around, I found out that someone had actually figured out a work around that allowed you to use any of the newer drivers.
https://modemworld.wordpress.com/2014/12/13/amd-catalyst-drivers-additional-windows-workaround/The basic idea is you put certain OpenGL .dll files that came with the 14.4 drivers into your viewer's program folder, so it uses those as opposed to whatever your current driver supplies you with.

>>7592I don't know anything about version 14.6, but yeah, like I said, give 15.3 another try AFTER going back to 14.4 first. I remember when I tried updating to 15.3 directly from 14.9, and the issues remained. But when I did a clean install back to 14.4. all the shaders and shadows/etc were back to their former glory! And it remained fixed when I updated to 15.3 aswell.
Before i did all that though, friend linked me to these shader files from singularity to stick into firestorm

I was stuck with shaders in advanced lighting busted since back around November, and boy does it feel great to have everything working again So I wish you luck in getting it back in working order so you too can enjoy a SL with fancy lighting, shadows, and nametags,texts, and selection highlights working how they're supposed to work
