Every time i have to pay it, it feels like a rip off. I have a 1/4th of an Homestead sim which is just as expensive as the average 1/8th land on a full sim and has as many prims. We share the costs for 2 people, but it still feels so expensive. With the money we spend for that land we could rent a whole nice VPS and host 20 websites on it while using it as a gaming server for 5 (shitty) multiplayer games simultaneously.

Now you have a naked most average and most common mesh body and you already spent 9.760L, which is about 40$. Buy hair/clothes/shoes for it and you are at 50$. Even if you don't pay the full mesh head price and go for a cheaper one, i am pretty sure that you find enough other stuff to buy that makes the total go to over 50$.
If you spent 100$ in total for your avi and you have it already for over a year, then you are doing pretty fine, no need to worry, most active SL people spend such a amount.

Just wanted to add EVE as a body that is 1.250L$ but still fits most of the mesh clothes and has some clothing stores creating things for it.
